NBC has canceled Debris, Deadline confirmed on Thursday, after the fate of the freshman sci-fi detective drama had been up in the air following its May 24 finale that wrapped up a 13-episode run.
It was one of five NBC shows — along with Good Girls, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Manifest and Ellen’s Game of Games — that were left off the network’s list this month of returning series and new shows. A big swing and the first NBC 2020 pilot to get a series order and premiere on the network, a renewal had not been looking promising.

Debris manifests itself in a terribly unsettling way in this week’s episode of NBC’s sci-fi drama.
In the freshman series’ eighth episode — titled “Spaceman” and airing tonight at 10/9c — Bryan and Finola (played by Jonathan Tucker and Riann Steele) undertake a dangerous operation into an Influx compound in order to rescue George Jones (Tyrone Benskin). The CIA’s Maddox (Norbert Leo Butz) and MI6’s Ferris (Anjali Jay), however, have their own plans for how the mission should be carried out.

The odds of making it into the entertainment industry are very slim, but Anjali hasn’t just gotten her foot in the door – she’s kicked it all the way down. She started her on screen career nearly 20 years ago, and she’s managed to find consistent work ever since. She gained the most attention for her role as Djaq in the series Robin Hood and she’s also well-known for her role as Selena in Supergirl. Although she has spent much of her career doing TV roles, she appeared in the 2020 film Brahms: The Boy II. Regardless of the project

Debris began falling on NBC’s Monday-night lineup this week. Will you keep tuning into the new sci-fi drama from Fringe boss J.H. Wyman?
Debris stars Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom) and Riann Steele (The Magicians) as Bryan Beneventi and Finola Jones, agents for the CIA and MI6, respectively, who have been partnered for the mission of tracking down the debris — tiny and quite large — of an alien spacecraft wreck spotted six months prior by Finola’s astrophysicist father.

Exclusive: The Originals‘ alum Steven Krueger is returning to the CW for a recurring role on the upcoming third season of Roswell, New Mexico. The role also reunites Krueger with Roswell, New Mexico EP Chris Hollier, who worked on The Originals. The reimagined Roswell, like the original, is based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz. It hails from Amblin TV, Bender Brown Prods and Warner Bros. TV. Krueger will play Heath, Liz’s ambitious colleague at a high-tech laboratory in Los Angeles. Despite his casual irreverence, which Liz finds infuriating, Heath cares deeply for his work and like Liz, is willing to do whatever it takes to make the world a better place. Even though Heath and Liz don’t always see eye to eye, his different approach ultimately pushes her to break her old patterns and discover new ways of looking at the world. Krueger is...

Stars: Katie Holmes, Owain Yeoman, Christopher Convery, Ralph Ineson, Anjali Jay, Oliver Rice, Natalie Moon, Daphne Hoskins, Joely Collins | Written by Stacey Menear | Directed by William Brent Bell
Katie Holmes stars in this sequel to 2016’s little-seen creepy doll horror The Boy. It’s directed by William Brent Bell, who clearly has an affinity for this sort of thing, because in addition to helming the original film, he’s just signed on to direct Esther, a prequel to 2009’s superficially similar Orphan.
Brahms begins with a poorly staged prologue in which Liza (Holmes) and her young son Jude (Christopher Convery) are traumatised by a home invasion. The attack leaves Jude unable to speak, so Liza and husband Sean (Owain Yeoman) decide to get away from it all and holiday in the guest house of a mansion in the north of England. "Brahms: The Boy II" is a hastily and lazily-crafted sequel of the 2016-released horror film, "The Boy". It brings back the creepy doll who ended up having a twisted secret in the earlier edition.
The narrative begins in staccato manner. After an untoward incident that affects Liza (Katie Holmes) and her young son Jude (Christopher Convery), Sean (Owain Yeoman) decides to give his disturbed family a well-deserved break. They move into the guest house of the erstwhile Heelshire Mansion, unaware of its terrifying history.
It is only after Jude gets attached to the eerily life-like doll he finds half buried on the estate that his behaviour changes drastically. The doll, who calls himself Brahms, communicates with "the damaged ones," in this case - Jude. And, like in the previous edition, the doll relays a list of rules to be followed, failing which the obvious would occur.

Despite the current season of Supergirl unfolding somewhat slowly, the producers very much picked up the pace with this past Monday’s episode, “Dark Side of the Moon.” In it, we not only learned that a Kryptonian city, Argo, survived the rest of the planet’s destruction, but that Kara’s mother, Alura, is still alive!
What’s more is that Anjali Jay’s character, Serena, is among the living as well. To this point, we’d seen her only as a construct appearing in Reign’s Fortress similar to Alura’s that’d been interacting with the Girl of Steel for the past few years. Needless to say, this is quite the game-changer.
Up until recently, The CW had been holding off on any kind of spoilers pertaining to season 3’s penultimate episode, “Make It Reign,” but now we have some images hinting at what’s to come. And...

So much for zombie island. Filmore Graves' grand plan A to build a magical haven for Seattle's zombies was officially and totally scrapped tonight in favor of a very different plan, and it's one that could do nothing but change the series forever. While Chase (Jason Dohring) was still full steam ahead on zombie island, some of his underlings, like Carey Gold (Anjali Jay), were not. Carey and a few supporters decided instead that it was time for plan B, which unleashed a flu that would encourage everyone in Seattle to get vaccinated, and then that vaccine would turn them all into zombies. (Carey also murdered Willie and his family and a whole bunch of other people too.) After...

You don't need to be British to know what makes for silly Saturday evening TV on that nation's major networks. If you are familiar with Doctor Who and Primeval, you'll have a pretty good idea. Both of those shows are admirable for their high production values and a winning combination of imagination, energy, comedy and drama. Yet, they make a virtue out of daft characters and stretching credibility to its limits. Those same qualities can also be found in the BBC's Robin Hood. The series ran for three seasons in the time slot reserved for Doctor Who. Although it isn't sci-fi, it has no shortage of fantasy, at least of the strained credibility kind. This is family entertainment for British Saturday evening tea-times. It's straight out of the best tradition of British comics: adventurous nonsense and all the more fun for it.
The emphasis in this version of Robin Hood is on youthful exuberance.
