Another charming short to feature this week (in addition to The Foley Artist). This one is called Celluloid Dreams, written & directed by Jonathan Dillon. It has already played at enough festivals to be qualified for Academy Awards consideration, so we'll see if it makes the cut next year. The film stars Greg Lucey as an old man who puts together a broken projector and rewatches some of the old films he made growing up, discovering that he apparently can change the past while watching them. Or can he? I like the vibe of this film, telling such an emotional story without much dialogue and providing some bit of happiness at the end. Description from Vimeo: "Celluloid Dreams tells the story of an old man who fixes a busted projector to relive home movies of the past, and starts to believe he can change them." I guess The Perks of Being a Wallflower and a Hunger Games winning tribute are many. Some of those perks might involve having more movie roles thrown in your direction, which is exactly what Logan Lerman and Josh Hutcherson are receiving as of late. The two are currently connected by being pursued to star in a Vegas theme comedy called The Bluff, according to Moviehole.com.

"May the odds be ever in your favor" may take on a slightly more literal meaning for Josh Hutcherson in the role he's in talks to play. Word is, the Hunger Games star and Percy Jackson's Logan Lerman are in negotiations to star in Jonathan Dillon's Vegas-set comedy The Bluff, which is described as a "tweenage take on The Hangover." Moviehole.com posted the news, stating that Hutcherson and Lerman were in talks to appear in The Bluff, which follows a couple of young guys who get themselves into some Vegas related shenanigans. As Mh notes, both actors were up for the role of Peter Parker in the Spider-Man reboot, so it seems kind of fitting that they should end up on some other movie together. As for the details on The Bluff, The Film Stage dug up the video below, which is a fake trailer apparently put together...
