The premiere episode introduced various dancers to judges Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Allison Holker and Comfort Fedoke. We also learned some of their backstories — well, if the dancers got yeses from the judges and advanced to the next round we got to learn their backstories. You could mostly predict who would succeed based on the amount of screen time they got, which is not uncommon during taped episodes of reality TV competitions.

His publicist, Danny Deraney emphasized that Rich did not do recreational drugs. “If there is any silver lining, it’s that our suspicions were correct that it was an accidental overdose from fentanyl and not recreational drugs,” Deraney told E! Sunday’s SAG Awards ceremony will be a streaming event for the first time on the Netflix YouTube channel. One of the highlights each year is the special In Memoriam segment. It’s been a particularly rough year with over 100 deaths of prominent actors and actresses who were likely members of SAG/AFTRA. Show producers typically are able to include approximately 40-50 people in a tribute.
Among that group will certainly be Oscar winners Louise Fletcher, William Hurt and Irene Cara, plus nominees Angela Lansbury (a SAG life achievement recipient) and Melinda Dillon. Emmy champs Mary Alice, Kirstie Alley, Leslie Jordan, Ray Liotta, Stuart Margolin, Robert Morse and Barbara Walters.

Will Smith horrified his daughter Willow on the latest episode of Red Table Talk.
On Wednesday (14 December), Smith and his children Willow, 22, Jaden, 24, and Trey Smith, 30, took over Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch series.
During the episode, Smith opened up to his children about the “gruelling and transformative” process of filming his newest movie, Emancipation.
The Oscar-winning actor stars as freed slave Peter in director Antoine Fuqua’s thrilling film, based on a true story.
After sharing the “terrifying” experience of “psychologically” losing himself to his character Peter, Smith said: “I wanted to show you guys in real life some of the brutal, dehumanising devices that were used during slavery.”
“Oh no, no!” Willow exclaimed in response as someone on set brought out a neck device used to keep slaves from running away. “Why do we need to see that?”
“You have to know,” Smith said, as Jaden reacted in disbelief: “Wow,...

Will Smith has discussed the intensity of the six-month shoot for his latest film, the slavery drama Emancipation.
In the movie, directed by Antoine Fuqua, Smith plays a slave called Peter who escapes captivity and goes to fight with Abraham Lincoln’s army during the American Civil War.
Ben Foster stars as a slave hunter who relentlessly pursues Smith’s character through the swamps of Louisiana.
Speaking in the latest episode of Red Table Talk, Smith explained how, on the first day of the shoot, Foster blanked him – an approach that Smith had a lot of respect for.
“Ben just walked past me and didn’t say nothing,” he said. “I was like, ‘Oh, he must not have seen me.’ And then for six months he didn’t speak to me, he didn’t make eye contact with me, he didn’t say a word. He didn’t acknowledge me for six months.

Ellen DeGeneres used the final monologue of “The Ellen Show” to reflect on the challenges she faced as a gay celebrity in Hollywood when she first embarked on her day-time journey. After 19 years, the comedian offered up a look back in hopes of brighter future.
On her final show on Thursday, DeGeneres observed how different the cultural landscape is today from when “The Ellen Show” first premiered in 2003 and how a growing acceptance enriched her time on TV.
“20 years ago, when we were trying to sell the show, no one thought that this would work. Not because it was a different kind of show, but because I was different,” she said. “When we started this show, I couldn’t say ‘gay’ on the show. I was not allowed to say ‘gay.’ I said it at home a lot. ‘What are we having for gay breakfast?'”
“We couldn’t say ‘gay.

A teary-eyed Ellen DeGeneres bid farewell to her daytime audience of 19 seasons on the final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show by asking everyone to “be your true authentic self” and to show compassion to others so the world can become a better place.
After visiting with guests Jennifer Aniston, Billie Eilish and Pink, DeGeneres wrapped the final episode of her eponymous talk show, which taped in late April ahead of airing Thursday, with a heartfelt plea. “If someone is brave enough to tell you who they are, be brave enough to support them even if you don’t understand,” she said, choking up. “They are showing you who they are and that’s the biggest gift anybody can ever give you. By opening your heart and your mind, you are going to be that much more compassionate. Compassion is what makes the world a better place. ”

After 19 years in syndication, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” came to a close on Thursday with a look back, a victory lap and final guests including Jennifer Aniston, who also happened to be DeGeneres’ first all those years ago.
It was announced in May 2021 that the series would end this year, coinciding with the end of DeGeneres’ contract — as well as a change in DeGeneres’ reputation due to reports of pay reduction, racism and intimidation towards crew members, though the contract was set in 2019.
During the series finale, DeGeneres focused her opening monologue on how different the world is for LGBTQ+ people now than it was when the show began.

Ellen DeGeneres had a special, and quite emotional, surprise for Stephen Boss (aka DJ tWitch) on Wednesday’s episode of “The Ellen Show,” which is its second-to-last.
The long-running talk show is set to end Thursday, and DeGeneres wanted to make sure that Boss, who has been the host’s sidekick since 2014, felt the love. Before introducing her next segment, DeGeneres asked Boss to come sit next to her on stage.
“I love you so much,” she said as Boss sat down, pointing out that it was “just a coincidence” that his mom and best friend were in the studio audience for that taping. She then rolled a heartfelt video tribute to her favorite fake DJ, which began with her tearing up as she said she didn’t want to say goodbye to her friend.
