Judi Lopez

Judi Lopez is executive vice president, distribution & content strategy for Crown Media Family Networks where she oversees the distribution of Crown Media's portfolio of content across all platforms. In addition, she oversees distribution marketing and is charged with identifying new business opportunities for content revenue growth.
An accomplished executive who has worked with the world's top media brands, Lopez most recently held a 13-year tenure at Fuse Media as one of the employee management owners and head of content distribution, advocacy & government affairs, and partnership marketing. In this capacity, she was instrumental in growing the brand from a start-up cable channel to a multiplatform entertainment media company.
Lopez is also a sought-after voice in dialogues around representation in media. She has been invited to meet with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators to discuss policies to improve Latino portrayals in entertainment and has worked closely with Color of Change PAC, Voto Latino Foundation, and other grassroots organizations to advance the voice of underserved communities in the media. Lopez was also appointed to the Federal Communications Commission's Federal Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Digital Age under former FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn.
Prior to Fuse Media, Lopez acted in senior executive positions at AMC Networks, including leading the national content distribution strategy and marketing efforts for AMC, Bravo, IFC and WE tv. Prior to AMC, she worked in executive roles in the finance, distribution, and new business development divisions for Disney and ESPN Media Networks, where she led the company's C-band (Disney Channel Home Satellite) business and was part of the inaugural team that originally launched the network with DIRECTV and DISH Network. She also was part of the strategic team that spearheaded the Disney Channel's evolution from a premium to basic service and the launch of Disney XD and Disney Junior.
Lopez is dedicated to paving the way for young people of color, especially women, to enter the media industry. As of January 2021, she became the first woman and first person of color elected to Chair the Board of Directors for the T. Howard Foundation (Diversity in Media). She has also been a member of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), and a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). Lopez is a dynamic speaker who is frequently invited to keynote industry events and to share her expertise in media.
In 2015, Lopez was a Multichannel News "Wonder Women" honoree and has been named to Cablefax: The Magazine's prestigious "Most Influential Minorities" and "Most Powerful Women in Cable" lists several times. Lopez was also selected as part of a small group of industry leaders invited to share her oral history as part of The Cable Center's Hauser Oral History project.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California Polytechnic State University in Pomona, California. She also attended Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) University at Harvard Business School and the WICT Senior Executive Summit (SES), presented in partnership with the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
