Lana Del Rey closed out the first night of Hangout Music Festival on Friday night by bringing out Jelly Roll for a duet cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama.”
Taking the stage together, the two delivered a loose and lively rendition of the 1974 Southern anthem, with some ad lib interjections, like when Jelly Roll shouts “We love you Lanita!” For her part, Del Rey changed some lyrics, skipping over the “Southern Man” reference to remind the crowd that Neil Young “squashed that beef into the ground.”
Get Lana Del Rey Tickets Here
For the song’s more controversial verse, both Del Rey and Jelly Roll seem to have a gaff on the lyrics, awkwardly missing the timing for the George Wallace lines but sticking the landing to come together in unison for “Watergate does not bother me.” That aside, going into the repeating refrain of the chorus, it...

It used to be all about the trailers and the broadcast fall schedules. Now those are largely a thing of the past as the media sector’s upfront presentations to Madison Avenue ad buyers continue to evolve.
Following a week of spin and hard sales, here are eight central takeaways after Netflix, Amazon, NBCUniversal, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTube and Fox made their pitches.
1. The Streaming Giants Came to Play Reese Witherspoon attends as Amazon debuts Inaugural Upfront Presentation at Pier 36 on May 14, 2024 in New York City.

It is possible to be “scared of nothin’ and … scared to death” at the same, at least so says Luke Combs, who holds his own bellowing about the virtues of the Sooner State over a torrent of wind and rain in the video for his new song, “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma.” The song comes off the upcoming soundtrack to Twisters, the 28-years-late sequel to Twister (and grammarians will note that Combs’ double-negative suggests there is love in Oklahoma, even if it’s a North Carolinian turned Nashvillian singing his heart out.

Conan O’Brien sat down with host Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday night, where the two reminisced about O’Brien’s time hosting NBC’s “Late Night.”
“It’s weird to come back,” O’Brien told Fallon. “I haven’t been in this building for such a long time, and I haven’t been on this floor in forever.”
O’Brien added, “I was here for 16 years doing the ‘Late Night’ show before we went out to L.A., and right across the hall…all these memories came flooding back to me.”
“The first thing that will hit you — and it will hit you, too, because one day you’ll have this show as long as you want it,” O’Brien said to Fallon, “but when you’re 98, you’ll move on and someone else will be in this studio. When someone else is in your studio, it feels weird.

Conan O’Brien has set a return to “The Tonight Show,” slotting a guest appearance for next week’s April 9 broadcast. The occasion will mark the comedian and former late night host’s first time back on the program since his acrimonious exit from NBC in 2010, in which he was replaced by Jay Leno as the show’s host following a seven-month tenure.
O’Brien is on the publicity circuit to promote his coming travelogue series, “Conan O’Brien Must Go.” The show marks O’Brien’s first television project since his TBS late night show “Conan” ended in 2021 after 11 seasons on the air. “Conan O’Brien Must Go” debuts on Max on April 18.

Conan O’Brien is set to make his first appearance as a guest on The Tonight Show since his unceremonious departure.

O’Brien will now be a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s version of the show on April 9, to promote his long-in-the-works travelogue, Conan O’Brien Must Go, which debuts on Max on April 18. Other guests on that show include Nicole Richie and musical guest Benson Boone.
The former Conan host – he hosted that show between 2010 and 2021 – has, however, made a short video appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show before. In 2018, he appeared in a skit that the former SNL star and The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert did.

Ariana Grande’s “Eternal Sunshine” has been somewhat of a surprise smash hit, right? While Grande has always been a huge star, it did seem like her star power had been gradually decreasing since her 2020 release, “Positions,” which did well by any pop star’s standards, but was a bit muted in the long run compared to her previous blockbuster “Thank U, Next.” Grande then faced public scrutiny in 2023 due to rumors surrounding her and “Wicked” co-star Ethan Slater, with speculation that Slater was still married and with a newborn child when he and Grande began a relationship. While those stories have been challenged, there was still the possibility of damage to her career.

This is already shaping up to be an interesting year for Best New Artist at the Grammys. The category might lack a clear frontrunner so far, as it is early in the year, but we do have some serious contenders who might pick up more steam closer to voting time this fall. Plus, an open field might make it even more interesting, unlike years where the winner was rather obvious like when Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish prevailed.
