Suryapal Singh hails from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh and is an alumnus of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India(FTII), Pune, where he learnt sceenwriting. He came to Mumbai in the year 2012 and worked as a writer for Star TV's youth channel Channel [V] for four years. He then quit his job and started doing freelance script writing.
His first released film was 'Turtle' (2018), for which he wrote dialogue, that was based on the water crises in interiors of Rajasthan. 'Turtle' went on to win the National Award for being the Best Rajasthani Film in the year 2019. Suryapal Singh's second feature film 'Waah Zindagi' (2021), once again as a dialogue writer, was a romantic comedy with the backdrop of the Make in India initiative of the government of India.
Next, Singh got his first film as a screenplay and dialogue writer which is the sensational 'The Kerala Story' that has created a storm in media and over the social media all across the nation. 'The Kerala Story' is a courageous research-backed film based on the sensitive issues of radicalised conversions and ISIS-related terrorism. Some of Singh's other projects as a writer are in the pipeline while a few are slated for release.
Suryapal Singh also works as a lyricist and has written Ad jingles for many top brands like Airtel, Tata Docomo, Tata Nano, Lifebouy and many more.
