- [2021] Lives in Ottawa, Canada.
- [on his 1985 trampolining accident] I was doing a double-twisting, double back somersault and I blacked out for a split second in mid-flight and it threw my orientation off. I came down on the trampoline bed and severed my fourth and fifth cervical that resulted in a spinal chord injury... I don't know if you ever come to terms with it you deal with it as best you can. It's with you every day whether you like it or not but you try and focus on your abilities rather than your inabilities.
- [on his career as a skier, prior to being paralysed in a trampolining accident] That was pretty much my life from the age of 15 to 24. I was also in the James Bond film A View To A Kill. I did the skiing and in the opening credits; I did a lot of back acrobatics and some jumps. James Bond buffs would recognise me.
- [speaking at age 60] I used to see longevity as a curse because it is hard. Aging is hard whether you're disabled or able-bodied. But I now see longevity as a blessing and as a means to give back.
