[This story contains spoilers from the first season of The New Look.]
The first season of Apple TV+’s The New Look ends with Christian Dior (Ben Mendelsohn) debuting his revolutionary 1947 collection that would be dubbed “the new look” by Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Carmel Snow (Glenn Close). The show then quickly flashes forward through some of the Dior brand’s iconic looks over the decades, which seems to suggest that the series is done with Dior’s story.
But creator Todd A. Kessler tells The Hollywood Reporter that he has a long runway planned for the series, which has yet to be officially renewed for a second season. A potential season two would continue to focus on Dior and Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche) before subsequent seasons would stay with the Dior brand as it was inherited by Yves Saint Laurent.
“I read that in the press, and that was the first time that I had ever heard of it as an anthology series,...

Fashion fans are sure to be scrutinizing every detail of The New Look, the 10-episode Apple TV+ series that tells the story of Christian Dior (played by Ben Mendelsohn) launching his eponymous Paris label with the now-legendary 1947 New Look collection that inspired the production’s title.
It’s among the reasons both creator Todd A. Kessler (Damages, Bloodline) and costume designer Karen Serreau (The Serpent Queen) knew they had to approach Dior’s seminal post-World War II designs with an unrelenting attention to detail. In other words, the participation of the brand that Dior built was essential.
“Dior was very generous in opening up its archives to us,” Serreau tells The Hollywood Reporter. “The way Todd has crafted the story, early on we see Christian talking to an audience at the Sorbonne in 1955, with a runway showing of several designs, and then of course later we see the debut showing of the 1947 collection.

At the top of Episode 1 of Apple’s “The New Look,” a title card flashes some weighty words: “This is the story of how creation helped return spirit and life to the world.”
But Todd A. Kessler’s drama series is barely that. “The New Look” is largely insular, despite taking place during a turbulent era that still affects millions around the world, centering figures who certainly left their marks on culture and history — but the vague thesis statement sounds like just that; the kind of sweeping, half-formed idea that a high school student might retroactively tack on to the introduction of an essay.
“The New Look” is the concurrently told story of two fashion icons forged in the traumatic depths of World War II — concurrent, but not parallel — Christian Dior (Ben Mendelsohn) and Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche). The series begins in 1955, when Chanel returned to Paris after years spent...

"You probably thought you'd drop dead peacefully in your sleep... And then, this happens?" More zombies! An official UK trailer has debuted for a new French zombie film titled The Night Eats The World, from first-time director Dominique Rocher. The plot involves a man who ends up at a party at his ex-girlfriend's place, only to wake up and discover he's alone and the rest of the people in Paris have turned into zombies. He has somehow survived unharmed overnight, and now must figure out how to survive and what to do next. Not the most original zombie plot, but this film does look pretty cool. Anders Danielsen Lie stars, along with Golshifteh Farahani, Denis Lavant, Sigrid Bouaziz, and David Kammenos. This doesn't look as scary as it does wild and entertaining, which makes me want to watch it more. Always more zombies. Here's the UK trailer (+ French poster) for...

Transporter 3by Eric Sloss, Writer Some movies you clearly have to leave your brain at the door before seeing them. There are things that are shown in these movies that are not humanly possible or probable for that matter. The Bond franchise is a good example of this type of filmmaking. The franchise more than makes up for it with a clever storylines, a strong male lead, beautiful women, exotic locales and memorable villains. The Transporter series can be looked upon in the same way. Fans have flocked to these movies mainly because of the ridiculous stunts and the charming Jason Statham. “Transporter 3” will clearly test the patience of even the most ardent of supporters. Jason Statham is back as Frank Martin. Martin transports cargo, whether it be human or otherwise, for a fee. He has certain rules that he follows. He doesn’t look to what he is transporting,...
