Scarlett is an award winning filmmaker living in Brooklyn, New York. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas before moving to Burlington, Vermont to get a bachelors degree in filmmaking at Champlain College.
During her time at Champlain, she studied abroad in Montreal, Canada and in Dublin, Ireland to expand her knowledge and love for other cultures. During her time in Montreal, she completed her first documentary and fell in love with the genre. She took a gap semester her junior year to travel to 18 countries and study other cultures. When she returned to finish her degree, she completed her second documentary that went on to win the White River Junctions Freedom and Unity Film Festival in 2018, after previously winning with another short film in 2016. Both films were featured on Vermont PBS where she completed an internship.
Upon graduating summa cum laude, she moved to Brooklyn. She has worked on several short films since such as Terra Incognita, Bad Mother, and Orange. Bad Mother which was written and directed by Molly Longwell won grand prize and best actress at the 2023 New York Shorts International Film Festival.
