In the spring and summer blockbuster season, it can be easy to overlook indie gems that march to the beat of their own drum. But one picture worth making the time to track down is “Buster’s Mal Heart,” an ambitious film that falls somewhere between comedy and sci-fi, but carves out its own unique niche. And today we have a great prize pack from the film for some lucky readers.
Starring Rami Malek, Kate Lyn Sheil, DJ Qualls, Toby Huss, Lin Shaye, Mark Kelly, and Teresa Yenque, and written and directed by Sarah Adina Smith, the film follows Jonah, a hard-working husband and father whose job as the night-shift concierge at a hotel took its toll on his psyche and, consequently, his marriage to the sensitive Marty — until a chance encounter with a conspiracy-obsessed drifter changed the course of their lives forever.

Eight of those people, they caution, will die within the two-hour run time. It's a grim opening for a film that explores the gun control debate across both political aisles, anchored by vignettes of interviews with grieving parents who've lost sons and daughters from both highly publicized mass slayings like Newtown and the still unsolved shootings that claim Chicago's children every night. Rami Malek, leading star of the so-hot-right-now cyber-thriller Mr. Robot, has today landed his first major role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the up-and-comer has agreed a deal to topline Sarah Adina Smith’s mystery drama Buster’s Mal Heart.
Financed by Gamechanger Films, Smith’s indie feature has already recruited the likes of DJ Qualls, Toby Huss and House of Cards alum Kate Lyn Sheil. It;s Malek who will spearhead the drama, however, as an eccentric recluse who lives out his days in the mountains, breaking into one vacation home after another in order to survive through the harsh winters.
During his illicit escapades – which ought to be right in Malek’s wheelhouse after Mr. Robot – our protagonist is plagued by a series of vivid and indeed recurring dreams; dreams that cast him astray at sea without a hope. As the narrative unfolds, Malek’s character learns that...

An astronaut, a drug-store executive, Ebola aid workers and a freed Cuban prisoner are among those who scored golden tickets to Tuesday night's State of the Union address by President Obama. First Lady Michelle Obama invited 22 people from all over the country to join her and Dr. Jill Biden in their special box in the gallery of the House chamber. Traditionally, the first lady's guests embody some feature of her husband's policy that he intends to highlight in his annual speech before the full House and Senate. And they tend to be reliable applause lines. Not to mention inspiring tear-jerkers.

Glamour magazine revealed its Women of the Year for 2013 on "Today" Monday (Nov. 11), followed by the annual ceremony later that evening.
The magazine's editor-in-chief, Cindi Leive, tells "Today" what they are looking for in the women they select.
"We look for women who are really raising the bar for all of us. Also women who are not just having the hit songs and being in headlines, but using that visibility to do something amazing for the rest of the world," says Leive.
That's why Malala Yousafzai was ultimately chosen as the Woman of the Year. The 16-year-old Pakistani girl was famously shot in the head by the Taliban for speaking out against limiting girls' access to education.
In her speech, Malala says, "I believe the gun has no power because a gun can only kill. But a pen can give life."

X-Men: Days of Future Past is shaping up to the most ambitious X-Men movie ever made. Hell! It's just a very ambitious film in general. This thing is going to be huge. In a recent interview with IGN , James McAvoy talked about the epicness of the film, saying,
"There’s an army of brilliant actors in that film. Bryan Singer is back at the helm. Potentially it’s going to be the biggest, most epic X-Men they’ve ever had. I think it’s the second biggest production Fox have ever embarked upon, behind Avatar. So they’re definitely going for it."
The actor then went on to talk about working with the cast of the film and even said that he shares a scene with Patrick Stewart! Seeing the young and old Charles Xavier coming face to face with each other should be interesting.
