The producer of Neil Gaiman's American Gods series, FremantleMedia North America, has acquired the rights to a superhero comic book series, Astro City. Their plan in to develop it as an epic live-action TV drama series.
Astro City was created by writer Kurt Busiek and artists Brent Anderson and Alex Ross. This is a big universe that consists of 16 standalone loosely-connected story arcs and contains more than 2,000 original characters. The comic made its debut in 1995 at Image Comics but is now being published by DC Comics. This is such a huge world and it has awesome potential as a series.
For those of you who are not familiar with the comic, here's a rundown of the story:
The fictional Astro City universe explores the lives of ordinary people and those of the all-too-human superhumans in their midst, and their collective, daily struggle to hold on to hope in the face of world-shaking,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not continue reading the following article unless you've watched Castle or don't care about being spoiled. We're serious. No complaining about spoilers in the comments. Previously on Castle: Castle (Nathan Fillion) proposed to Beckett (Stana Katic), who had just accepted a plum new job in Washington D.C. And that's all you need to know! "Richard Alexander Rodgers Castle, yes. Yes, I will marry you." Feel free to squeal, people, as Beckett agreed to marry Castle in the ABC hit's season six premiere's opening scene. Well, she said yes only after making sure he wasn't proposing just because of her new job. "Castle, I love you. But this is my shot." But Castle...

Castle (TV) hears dead people! Or, at least, their victim believed she could. In an episode befitting start of the Halloween season, Castle tries to convince Beckett (Stana Katic) that not everything can be easily explained when it comes to the world of psychic mediums. When psychic medium Vivian Marchand's (Patricia Tallman) daughter Penny (Rachel Boston) walks into her mother's apartment looking for her, she finds more than she bargained for. After calling her mom's cell phone, the ringing coming from the couch leads Penny to find her mother's body, stabbed with an ice pick and stuffed into the roll-away bed inside the sofa. Castle (Nathan Fillion) has just found out that his own mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan) has a new piece of ice on her finger, compliments of her boyfriend proposing. Martha isn't sure she wants to marry him, however, and while she stews over that dilemma, Castle is called to the crime scene.

With the awkwardness of Castle’s return behind the show's title character and Beckett, the partners quickly got folded into a strange murder case on this week’s episode, "He's Dead, She's Dead."
We were teased back in July that someone close to Castle was going to die. Last night, we found out that the never seen, yet often mentioned Chet, (Martha’s boyfriend) was the one who perished.

I am disappointed it turned out to be a character we never met that died, as we had no attachment to Chet. It really seemed like an odd thing to tease months ago for such an underwhelming result.
On the flip side, we did learn that Rick Castle’s real name is Richard Alexander Rogers (or as my wife pointed out, the initials spell “Rar!”). I am intrigued how this may come into play down the lone. With the psychic’s...
