This one is definitely a win for "Star Trek" fans everywhere. David Waddell, a councilman from Indian Trail, N.C. is leaving his position after sending a resignation letter to Mayor Michael Alvarez written entirely in Klingon.
Waddell meant the letter to be an inside joke, according to the Charlotte Observer, but the mayor didn't seem to get it. "It's an embarrassment for Indian Trail, and it's an embarrassment for North Carolina," he says, labeling the note childish and unprofessional. Some people just don't know how to have fun.
Waddell, who will vacate his council seat on January 31, resigned over concerns he has with the direction of the town. He's also planning to work on a write-in campaign for a U.S. Senate seat.

The Visual Effects Society (Ves) will be the first recipient of the online screeners, receiving them as early as Oct. 14.
The concern, as always, will be piracy. Deluxe and Paramount say they’ll be able to securely stream films backed by “unique watermarking of the content tied to the individual recipients with DVD quality picture and a controlled window of availability.” Works in theory, but we’ll see how it does in practice.
Paramount and Ves both encourage voters to see films “in the best possible environment – a theatre.” But this is...
