The third annual edition of the Streamer Awards will celebrate the biggest stars on platforms like Twitch, Kick, and YouTube. In a Twitch stream, Streamer Awards organizer QTCinderella announced the 2024 nominees and revealed that Pokimane will co-host the show alongside her.
Across the 28 Streamer Awards categories, five creators earned three nominations apiece: Record breaker Kai Cenat, gamer Quackity, Rainbow Six Siege player Jynxzi, multiplatform star CaseOh, and Otk member Extra Emily. Four of those three-time nominees are up for the Streamer of the Year prize. The creator joining Cenat, Quackity, Jynxzi, and CaseOh in that category is VTuber Ironmouse.
Extra Emily will not be up for Streamer of the Year, but her presence at the 2024 Streamer Awards will not be limited to her three nominations. She will be one of the event’s three red carpet hosts, joining Will Neff and CDawgVA. Floor coverage will be provided by AustinShow. To produce the Streamer Awards,...

Two years ago, Ludwig Ahgren left Twitch for YouTube.
“I felt more appreciated by YouTube than I did by Twitch,” he says in his newest Mogul Mail video (below). “They made me feel like a person. They made me feel seen. It felt like our goals were aligned. In Twitch, I felt like another cog in the machine. And it didn’t hurt that YouTube was also offering me more money.”
So, now that his two-year contract is up and he has the choice to continue with YouTube or go to another platform, how is he feeling about the chances of making a livestreaming career on YouTube?
Well, not great.
But he–despite the title of this video being I’m Going Back to Twitch–is still willing to stick it out with YouTube for another year.
That gives us two main questions to answer:
Why is he staying at YouTube?...

Some Jewish influencers are not happy with TikTok‘s response to inflammatory language. During a private call held five weeks after the outbreak of war in the Middle East, celebs like Sacha Baron Cohen, Debra Messing, and Amy Schumer criticized TikTok’s perceived inaction toward a growing “antisemitic movement” on its platform.
The call was organized by TikTok’s Head of Operations, Adam Presser, and its Global Head of User Operations Seth Melnick. The execs, both of whom are Jewish, held the meeting to discuss the alarming rise of antisemitic rhetoric on TikTok since October 7. At least 30 people joined the call, including the Jewish celebs listed above.
“What is happening at TikTok is it is creating the biggest antisemitic movement since the Nazis,” Baron Cohen said during the call. He argued that TikTok could simply “flip a switch” to curb Jewish hate among its community.

Charlie White has been streaming on Twitch since it was still known as Justin.tv. The man known as Moist Cr1TiKaL is a legend on the Amazon-owned platform, but he’s making a move that will bring his live broadcasts elsewhere. After ending his exclusive streaming agreement with Twitch, White will be able to diversify his content, especially on his YouTube channel.
White announced his new approach in a video he shared on YouTube. He thanked Twitch for allowing him to terminate a contract that prevented him from streaming on other platforms. “Twitch was nice enough to turn our contract into toilet paper,” he said.
The five million fans who follow White on Twitch don’t need to worry about his account going dark anytime soon. He will continue to go live on that platform while simultaneously exploring his options on YouTube and elsewhere. He explained that Twitch’s strict exclusivity...

The fintech company behind a creator-friendly credit card is extending its own financial resources. Karat Financial has announced a $70 million Series B, which includes $30 million in debt financing from TriplePoint Capital and a $40 million equity round led by SignalFire.
This latest burst of funding is about three times as large as the $26 million Series A Karat announced in 2021. Contributors to the $40 million equity round included a mix of new and returning investors. Union Square Ventures, Crv, and Ggv doubled down on their support of Karat, while Commerce Ventures and Will Smith‘s Dreamers Vc backed the firm for the first time.
Karat has cultivated a strong customer base among professional creators by simplifying transactions that once proved complex. Alongside its Series B, the L.A.-based company has announced a new business card in partnership with Visa. Among other perks, business card holders will receive personal credit building and purchase protection.

Odd Projects has made three additions to its client roster. The talent management company has signed Jacob Christensen (aka Nakey Jakey), TikToker Aaron Murphy, and internet commentator Nathan Stanz.
The new signings will slot into existing Odd Projects divisions like Gaming, Commentary, Music, and Impact. Christensen’s channel spans several of those verticals on its own. The man known as Nakey Jakey got a boost when an episode of his web series Games That Should Bang went viral. Seven years later, his video essays discuss everything from video games to book fairs, and he also has his own music career. Last year, he dropped a debut album called Romcom on Spotify.
Stanz’s career has also traversed through multiple internet communities. He’s a former esports exec who established himself as on platforms like YouTube by commenting on creator drama and other topics. He’s also known for his frequent...

With big-name signings like xQc, Amouranth, and BruceDropEmOff, Kick has taken the streaming world by storm. But wooing Twitch stars is only one part of Kick’s strategy. The gambling-oriented platform has become big enough to produce its own homegrown talent, and as those streamers grow, Kick is making sure to do right by them.
Case in point: Snoh. The 23-year-old creator doesn’t have a major presence on Twitch or YouTube Gaming, but on Kick, she is off to a solid start. Only a few months into her streaming career, she already counts more than 8,000 followers.
Kick recognized that Snoh (whose real name is Tee) was cultivating a passionate audience, and its partnerships team connected with her to offer her a contract. Going forward, she will be paid for her broadcasts on the Stake-affiliated platform.

It’s been nine months since streaming star Ludwig Ahgren teamed up with a group of co-founders to launch Offbrand, a company that produces events and special streams in partnership with prominent creators. Offbrand is now supporting the next phase of its operations by making some key hires.
Jerma, a Twitch streamer known for his innovative events, has signed on as Offbrand’s Chief Creative Officer. He’ll be joined at the company by two execs — David Gorman and Daniel Najarian — who previously worked at the recently shuttered esports-oriented studio Beyond the Summit. On March 15, the North American Valorant Challengers League featured a David vs. Goliath matchup. The favored team was affiliated with TeamSoloMid (Tsm), which has been cited as the esports organization with the largest net worth. The underdog bore the logo of Dsg (short for Disguised), a fledgling esports team led by popular streamer Disguised Toast (whose real name is Jeremy Wang).
When the dust settled, Tsm emerged victorious. But despite the loss, Dsg finished high enough in the Challengers League standings to qualify for the Mid-Season Face-Off, where the plucky upstarts earned a rematch with Tsm.
As Dsg’s first season on the Valorant circuit rolls through its ups and downs, the team’s founder is working behind the scenes to create a new type of esports company. Wang told Tubefilter that his organization has “no sponsors” and “no investors,” but despite those drawbacks — or perhaps because of them — Dsg...

13 years ago, KFC created a social media sensation when it introduced the Double Down, a sandwich that replaces buns with pieces of fried chicken. After discontinuing the Double Down in 2014, KFC chose to bring it back in 2023.
To build hype for the sandwich’s return, the home of Colonel Sanders turned to Ludwig Ahgren. The streamer known by the mononymous handle Ludwig produced and starred in a KFC commercial featuring the Double Down.
The ad aired for the first time during the 2023 Streamer Awards, which was produced and hosted by Ahgren’s girlfriend QTCinderella. At the start of the 90-second spot, Ahgren finds himself in a hole at the blackjack table. After getting his hands on a KFC sandwich, the YouTube star chooses to “double down,” and his luck quickly changes course. In his first open letter to the YouTube community this week, newly appointed CEO Neal Mohan dropped an eye-popping statistic about YouTube’s gaming efforts: Total views for gaming-related content crossed 2 trillion during the year. And as of December 2022, a YouTube rep told The Hollywood Reporter that gaming-related content brought in more than 500 million logged-in daily active viewers and more than 120 billion hours of watch time.
Suffice it to say that gaming content — which can span livestreams to traditional on-demand video — is massively popular on YouTube, which launched YouTube Gaming nearly eight years ago to compete with Amazon’s Twitch. Since then, the division has attracted top Twitch talent like Ludwig (Ludwig Ahgren), DrLupo (Benjamin Lupo), TimTheTatman (Tim Betar), Valkyrae (Rachell Hofstetter), Myth (Ali Kabbani), CouRage (Jack Dunlop) and LazarBeam (Lannan Eacott) for exclusive deals and brought gaming-friendly features like channel memberships and super chat to the main YouTube experience.

On Twitch, breakout streamer Kai Cenat is headed for unprecedented territory.
The 21-year-old New York native, who first turned heads as a member of the creator supergroup Amp, is wrapping up a 30-day sub-a-thon on his official Twitch account. As the campaign approaches its conclusion, Cenat has hit a major milestone: With more than 300,000 concurrent subscribers, he has surpassed Ludwig Ahgren and Tyler ‘Ninja‘ Blevins to become the all-time most-subscribed personality on the Amazon-owned streaming platform.
Cenat’s Twitch hub has been live since February 1, and viewers have flooded in to watch the outspoken star chase streaming history. Even when he sleeps, he draws substantial traffic. On the morning of February 28, more than 28,000 concurrent viewers tuned in to watch Cenat snooze in his bed.
That viewership has translated into record-breaking subscription numbers. Toward the end of his 30-day Twitch run — which is set to expire on March 2 — Cenat surpassed Ninja...

Two of the top streamers on the internet are coming together under a single banner. YouTube star Ludwig Ahgren has become the co-owner of Moist Esports, the gaming organization founded by multiplatform standout Charlie ‘Cr1TiKaL’ White.

Twitch’s “resident expert baker” QTCinderella pits streamers against one another in culinary contest
The creator who described herself as a “compulsive event organizer” in 2022 is getting ready for her first major event of 2023. Beginning on January 15, Twitch star QTCinderella will host Master Baker, a five-day cooking competition featuring six popular streamers.

Across four tournaments, the PogChamps series has proven that creators love going head-to-head across a chessboard. Meanwhile, a wave of high-profile bouts has established influencer boxing as a fad that can’t be ignored.
An event on December 11 is designed to smash those trends together. Ludwig Ahgren will host the Mogul Chessboxing Championship, a test of brains and brawn that will feature streamers like Disguised Toast and Myth.
The man known mononymous as Ludwig officially announced the chessboxing tournament on September 23, dubbing it “the biggest event of my career.” The YouTube star has spent most of 2022 putting on live events and launching ventures that will help other creators put on live events. After hosting a live finale for his game show Mogul Moves over the summer, Ludwig announced Offbrand in September. The creative studio will work with streamers who are trying to “make cool stuff.”

He’s been exclusive to YouTube since December 2021 and is currently pulling in anywhere from 25 to 50 million views a month and over a million views per video on his VOD content. In terms of streaming, the latest stats I could easily find are from May 2022 and put his average concurrent viewers anywhere from 15K to 25K with peaks bumping all the way up to 87K. Those numbers regularly put him in the Top 10 for streamers with the Most Hours Watched on YouTube. The guy’s also got 1.6 million followers on TikTok,...

Ludwig Ahgren is famous as one of the top streamers in the online video community, but his latest product offers a different type of stream: A jet of water. Ahgren has launched a company called Swipe, which is selling two different types of bidets.
Swipe offers its customers two different methods for cleaning up in the bathroom. The brand’s cheaper option is a 50 device that can be attached to any conventional toilet. The bidet’s description promises “easy DIY installation,” though some customers may need a helping hand.
If you’re a true bidet fan who is really looking to ball out, you can update to the Swipe+, which retails for 500. That model is essentially a brand new toilet, and it comes with all the premium features: It has a remote-controlled wash, a warm air dryer, two different rim shapes to choose from, and much more.

TikTok has been working on its dislike button since the pre-covid days. Now, that feature has been rolled out worldwide.
In a series of tweets, the short-form video app announced that users around the world can now give a thumbs down to any comment they deem improper, hateful, or spammy. Like on YouTube, dislike counts will be hidden from the public, and the negative feedback will be mainly be used to “better identify irrelevant or inappropriate comments.”
New feature incoming. Earlier this year, we started to test a new way people could identify comments they believe to be irrelevant or inappropriate. After some testing, we’re releasing it globally. Read on for 3 fast facts

The man who brought Mogul Money to the world is now helping other creators produce game shows, events, branded series, and more. Ludwig Ahgren, who is known by the mononymous name Ludwig on platforms like YouTube, is one of the four founders of Offbrand, a creative studio that will help its partners bring “something special” to their viewers.
Offbrand is a collaboration between Ahgren and several big names from the streaming, esports, and advertising worlds. Nick Allen, who serves as the President and COO of Ahgren’s Mogul Moves brand, is on board with Offbrand as well. So too is Nathan Stanz, a creator who has worked in the esports industry. Brandon Ewing, a marketing operative with experience at Twitch and Nvidia, rounds out Offbrand’s founding foursome.
These four individuals are on a mission to deliver the sort of content that helped Ahgren become one of the most famous streamers in the world.

Gambling has been a thorn in the sides of gamers and Twitch viewers alike for some time now. Quite a few companies have taken a stand against the practice, especially when children are involved, and Twitch is the latest organization to join them. While that may sound like a step in the right direction, the truth is that this whole situation is just a little more complicated (and dramatic) than that.
Recently, Twitch posted an update stating that, on October 18, the company will prohibit all links and referral codes to slots, roulette, and dice game sites, especially those that aren’t licensed in the US.

This news might have come as a surprise to some users since Twitch has dragged its feet for the past couple of years despite the questionable legality of these gambling streams.

As part of a live-streaming event called Made On YouTube, the biggest online video platform in the world made multiple announcements. In 2023, ads will begin running in between videos on YouTube Shorts. To compensate creators for the ad revenue they generate, YouTube will adjust its Partner Program to make monetization easier to enable on short-form channels.
The new ad format will bring Shorts monetization in line with YouTube’s other revenue streams.
This year, the theme of YouTube’s creator relations has been “multiformat.” The platform has repeatedly encouraged its community to post a mix of long-form videos, short-form clips, and live streams. Adding reliable monetization to Shorts will give creators a reason to adopt that approach.
“From a business perspective, the key benefit of Shorts for me is that they help me pull people into my community, whereas for long-form, it brings in a lot more revenue,” short-form star...

A long-rumored revenue stream for YouTube‘s TikTok competitor is imminent. According to a report in the New York Times, YouTube will announce Shorts ads at an event on September 20.
The report cites audio from an internal YouTube meeting, which was leaked to the Times. During the meeting, YouTube VP of Product Management and Creator Products Amjad Hanif told employees that the launch of YouTube Shorts ads will usher in a new era for the platform’s Partner Program. The advertising option, which has been a primary source of income for a myriad of YouTube creators since its introduction in 2007, is likely to expand in the near future.
In 2018, YouTube mandated that creators must have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of total watch time if they wish to enter into the Partner Program. If Hanif’s comments in the leaked audio clip are to be believed, those requirements are about to be slackened.

Streamers who spend too much time online are often told that they should go outside and “touch grass.” Across a recent series of videos, several prominent 100 Thieves partners took that advice literally. 20 members of the esports and entertainment organization — including co-owners Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop and Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter — bid farewell to the second-annual Creator Camp by playing a massive game of ‘2 Truths 1 Lie.’
Creator Camp, first organized last year, invites 100 Thieves creators to a lakeside setting, where they can partake in classic summertime games and activities. The 2022 edition of the get-together has a new sponsor in AT&T, but its premise is mostly the same. If you’ve ever wanted to see extremely competitive gamers play incredibly low-stakes games, Creator Camp is the series for you.
The finale of the 2022 Camp presents the 100 Thieves crew with a classic campfire format. By playing ‘2 Truths 1 Lie,’ these creators revealed some fascinating facts about themselves.

During a recent stream, Leslie “Fuslie” Fu said a tearful goodbye to her beloved Twitch viewers, which led to speculation that she would soon sign with YouTube Gaming. Days later, Fu officially announced her move to YouTube by strumming a guitar, singing a song, and hanging out with her friends (and fellow YouTube signees) Valkyrae, Sykkuno, and LilyPichu.
But if Fu was so attached to her Twitch community, why would she abandon them to sign with YouTube? There are cynical answers to that question, including the ones having to do with money, but Ludwig Ahgren has a few other ideas. The YouTube-signed creator took to his Mogul Mail channel to discuss how two recent additions to YouTube Gaming — Fuslie and FaZe Swagg — fit into the platform’s roster.
Ahgren believes that the guest stars in Fu’s video explain why YouTube was eager to sign her. The former Among Us...

“YouTube: You guys either play favorites, you’re racist, or it’s a mix of the two.”
Those are the “serious allegations” Cory DeVante Williams raised in a video he uploaded on August 24. Williams, a gamer known for his CoryxKenshin channel, questioned YouTube’s values after an incident involving the platform’s content moderation team.
The story goes like this: Williams is an elder statesman among YouTube gamers who has been making videos since 2009 and now has more than 14 million subscribers. He uploaded a video in which he played through the horror title The Mortuary Assistant. After the video went live, it was “age-restricted” due to its sensitive nature. That was bad news for Williams: It meant that his video would get fewer viewers and less ad revenue.
The decision confused the man known as The Shogun, who has a reputation as a family-friendly creator. “I bleep out cuss words in video games,...

Yesterday, Twitch revealed some big news for its Partners and Affiliate: They are now free to stream on other platforms. The decision to roll back the so-called “exclusivity clause” sent shockwaves across the internet. Multiple outlets, including this one and TechCrunch, posited that the updated policy could help Twitch retain star streamers instead of losing them to exclusive YouTube Gaming contracts.
Within a day, a new narrative emerged: Some streamers say that Twitch’s big change isn’t a change at all. On the contrary, those creators are arguing that the Amazon-owned platform has merely given its approval to tactics that were already tacitly allowed.
Critics of the announcement have fashioned their arguments around the “catch” of Twitch’s update. The streaming hub is still prohibiting simulcasts that bring its streams to YouTube Gaming and Facebook Gaming in real time. Simulcasts on “short-form mobile services” like Instagram Live and TikTok are still permitted.

It’s the dawn of a new era for Twitch.
The Amazon-owned platform has announced that it will drop the maligned “exclusivity clause” that barred its Partners and Affiliates from streaming on other platforms. The change, which has been rumored for months, will give Twitch a new selling point as it looks to keep up with YouTube Gaming in the scramble for top-end talent.
In a statement, Twitch said that the new policy will provide “more flexibility” for streamers so they can “explore how to use different, off-platform features to further build [their communities] and interact with streamers off Twitch.” There is only one small catch: Twitch streams can not be simulcast on YouTube Gaming or Facebook for “extended periods of time.”

Jimmy Donaldson has proven himself to be a generous guy. In his videos, the man known as MrBeast regularly gives away eye-popping cash prizes, but the gift he recently gave to Ludwig Ahgren is far more unusual than a lump sum. After the latter creator traveled to North Carolina to participate in a "buried treasure" video, MrBeast gave him the opportunity to upload the clip on his channel, since Donaldson himself wasn't satisfied with the final result.
The video in question is titled 'I Buried 100,000, Go Find It,' and it uses a similar format to the CBS reality competition franchise The Amazing Race. Two pairs of contestants venture across rural North Carolina in search of the spot where Donaldson stashed the six-figure prize. Along the way, Donaldson impedes the treasure hunters with a series of challenges. At a couple of those stops, Ahgren shows up to instruct the contestants and cheer them on.
