Chrissy Beppo’s baby daddy is officially back in action. Erik Valdez on Tuesday posted a selfie from his trailer on the set of Superman & Lois, confirming his return in the CW drama’s upcoming fourth and final season.
One of the last remaining original scripted shows on the network, Superman & Lois‘ Season 4 renewal came with a few major caveats. Not only was its traditional episode order reduced, but only five actors would be returning as series regulars, leaving fans to wonder how much of the show’s ensemble cast — including Valdez as Kyle Cushing — would still have a presence on the show.

As budget cuts hit The CW's returning original programming, several stars will not be on the shows next season as series regulars.
All American: Homecoming is the latest show to announce its changes ahead of next season.
According to Deadline, Peyton Alex Smith, who plays Damon Sims on the series, will not be back as a series regular.
If you watch All American: Homecoming online, you know Damon has been pivotal since All American: Homecoming Season 1 Episode 1.
While casting changes were expected, it's surprising Smith is one of the actors to have their contract changed.
There's no confirmation whether the actor will stage a comeback in a recurring or guest capacity.
Time will tell, but hopefully, he will appear on-screen to wrap up Damon's storyline if the actor decides against accepting the contract.
Additionally, Kelly Jenrette, who plays Bringston University president Amara Patterson, will return as a recurring player.

We knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less upsetting.
Seven series regulars have been let go from The CW's Superman & Lois ahead of season 4.
The news comes the same week the show eked out a 10-episode renewal for the 2023-24 season with the caveat that there would be budget cuts.
We already reported that Dylan Walsh was departing as General Sam Lane, and now, six other beloved cast members are joining him, Deadline reports.
Buckle up because this isn't easy to report.
The Lang family is no more as Emmanuelle Chriqui (as Mayor Lana Lang), Erik Valdez (as Lana's ex-husband Kyle Cushing), and Inde Navarrette (as Lana and Kyle's daughter Sarah) are all being written out.
The bad news extends to the Irons family, with Wolé Parks (as Superman's ally John Henry Irons) and Tayler Buck (as John Henry's daughter Natalie) also not landing...

Now fans have heard word about a new spinoff featuring Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey. Here’s what we know about the new Yellowstone show so far.
‘Yellowstone’ has inspired an extended universe of multiple shows
Since it premiered in 2019 on the Paramount Network, Yellowstone has gained a loyal fan base. And moreover, Sheridan has continued to expand the series’ universe in unexpected ways. In 2021, the show’s first spinoff, 1883, debuted on Paramount+. With Yellowstone set in the present day, its offshoots have mostly continued to look at the history of the Dutton family through the ranch’s history.
With the success of 1883, the Yellowstone universe added a second spinoff, 1923, in 2022. That show stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren...

The long wait for Superman & Lois Season 3 is almost over.
The CW dropped an extended trailer for the forthcoming season, premiering March 14, and there's a lot to talk about.
We'll start with Jonathan Kent.
The trailer offers our first look at Michael Bishop, who takes over the role from Jordan Elsass.
Elsass announced his departure from the superhero drama before filming Superman & Lois Season 3.
Our first glimpse at the new Jonathan coincides with our first look at the new Fortress of Solitude, which in turn, reveals that the entire Kent family can attend.
The trailer hints at the family wanting to be like a regular family, and that includes celebrating birthdays without superhero drama.
However, Lois drops a bombshell on Clark that is sure to shake up this family dynamic like never before:

Mother! The CW’s Superman & Lois just dropped the trailer for its third season exclusively on our laps and it’s looking like Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) are in for some mommy issues, as well as more of the epic adventures that make this show so damn good. Early on, we get a glimpse of Ck’s Kryptonian mom Lara (Mariana Klaveno) in all her holographic glory as sonny boy brings the wife and kids — including Michael Bishop, who replaces Jordan Elsass as Jonathan — to the newly sprouted Fortress of Solitude. And then, after sepia-soaked shots of the twins’ birthday celebration, Lois tells Clark that she may be pregnant with their third. Whether that’s happy news or not for the Dad of Steel remains to be seen because the clip immediately shifts into high gear, with explosions, aerial business, Lois’ abduction, and a return...

The Walking Dead‘s Michael Cudlitz has been tapped to play a new version of Lex Luthor in the upcoming third season of CW’s Superman & Lois. The actor confirmed the news, first reported by EW, on Twitter.
Per the official character description: Lex is “known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp, but secretly, the criminal underworld knows who Lex truly is: a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with. When Lex debuts this season, it’s been years since he dropped out of the public eye and he’s re-emerging hellbent on correcting a personal injustice by enacting revenge on the two people he feels have wronged him — Superman (played by Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch).

Superman & Lois is adding a Walking Dead favorite to the cast for Season 3.
Entertainment Weekly revealed Tuesday that Michael Cudlitz was joining the cast of the CW superhero drama series.
But who will he play?
Lex Luthor.
Yes, The CW seems intent on having Lex Luthor in most of their ongoing series, so the villain might pop up on Riverdale next.
We kid, mostly.
Cudlitz's character is "known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp, but secretly, the criminal underworld knows who Lex truly is: a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with," EW reports.

Superman & Lois has pulled off a speedy switcheroo.
The CW on Wednesday revealed that the superhero drama had cast Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent.
The news broke Wednesday, just weeks after it was announced that Jordan Elsass would be vacating the role after two seasons.
Jonathan is the son of Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch), so writing him out was not an option this early in the show's run.
Alexander Garfin as Jordan Kent, Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, Inde Navarrette as Sarah Cushing, Wolé Parks as The Stranger, Adam Rayner as Morgan Edge with Dylan Walsh as General Samuel Lane, and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang Cushing also star.
“Jordan Elsass has notified the studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for Season 3 due to personal reasons,” Warner Bros. Television said in a statement last month to Variety.

The CW's Superman & Lois will look very different when it returns in 2023 for its third season.
Jordan Elsass, who has played Jonathan Kent since Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 1, is exiting the series after two seasons.
Variety first reported the news, revealing that the role of Jonathan will be recast.
“Jordan Elsass has notified the studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for Season 3 due to personal reasons,” Warner Bros. Television said in a statement Tuesday.
No details surrounding why the star is departing have been revealed, but Variety states that it is not because of a “workplace-related issue.”
News of the big change comes just ahead of production commencing on Superman & Lois Season 3.
The good news is that the show is not targeting a fall launch and is on deck for midseason, so there's a chance production could be postponed.
