M.C, dancer and graphic artist, Superb Lyrics, is a New York city native. Born into the Bedford-Stuyvesant, to a Bajan (Barbados) mother and (Cuban/Haitian) Creole father. This first generation American was born in the historic Weeksville neighborhood.
Weeksville Founded shortly after New York abolished slavery in 1827, Weeksville was named after James Weeks, a black longshoreman who bought land from Henry C. Thompson, a leader in the African-American abolitionist movement, who had purchased the property from the wealthy Lefferts family. This gave the underground MC the drive to inspire others of the hip-hop culture to push for better living.
First releasing an underground album 'The Hardest Hard Mixtape' in 2003, where his songs 'Blow pop Jerkin', Longtime (Hip-hop homage of Bob Marley & the Wailers 'Nice time'), To Champagne and Campaigns, were adapted by many famous hip-hop artist, from 50 cent to Jay-Z and Drake. In 2019, S.L wrote, composed, produced and released a 31 song 'Learning Curb' album on his independent 'Hardest Hard Arts record label, where songs like 'No Brainer' is the slang catching on among many business minded individuals. The 'Learning Curb' album was a project when the MC released a song on each day of January 2019. It's controversial cover was, a brown baby wearing a wet diaper, alone on the street drawing with a living pencil in one hand and a pair of glasses in the other, a rooster standing on a confederate flag soap box crowing, as the sun through the child's glasses set the box on fire and an meat clever that read equity came down behind the rooster. In February 2019 the MC released an instrumental 29 song 'Hated beauty album. Again releasing a song a day for that month.
A graduate of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters as well as Erie Community College. He was a carpenter on the set of the movie 'Serendipity' in (2001) staring John Cusack and Eugene Levy. Also, while volunteering for the 'Prisoners Legal Organization of WNY' they cleared over 200 prisoners of dirty urine charges by proving false/positive drug test were used in Attica State Prison.
