Now here comes the third chapter, which spins the clock right back to before they encountered the ghostly terrors and focuses on a new group of characters. Stephanie Scott is the lead here, playing a young woman who is just home from hospital after breaking both her legs. Her dad (Dermot Mulroney) is trying to help her settle back, and she has an instant connection with neighbour Hector (Ashton Moio), who clearly has a crush on her. But when she thinks he’s playing cute by knocking on her wall, she discovers to her horror that it’s something else...This first glimpse of the new horror outing – which sees regular writer (and actor) Leigh Whannell taking over the director’s chair from James Wan...

"Switched at Birth" has been renewed for Season 4. Only days before airing the hit series' third season finale, ABC Family has announced that the Peabody and TCA Award-winning series will be returning next year with a new batch of episodes. “Fans will be clamoring for season four and to know what happens with Daphne and Bay after the season three finale next week,” said ABC Family President Tom Ascheim in a statement. In less positive news, the network's freshman drama "Twisted" starring Avan Jogia, Maddie Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards has been canceled. The Season 1 finale (and ultimately series finale) of the Adam Milch-created series aired back in April to unencouraging ratings. "Switched at Birth" tells the story of Bay (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne (Katie Leclerc), two teenage girls who discover they were mixed up at the hospital as newborns. Calling all Twisted fans (Twisters? Twisterds? Socios? Help!): the ABC Family mystery drama is back and we've got an exclusive first look at the juicy second half of the season! When we last left our favorite possible sociopath, Danny (Avan Jogia) had escaped from the police through his bedroom window, and now we know one of the places he went—Jo's house (Maddie Hasson)! In our exclusive clip, Jo tells Rico (Ashton Moio) and Lacey (Kylie Bunbury) that Danny showed up in her room, and by the way Lacey says "Your room?" we're thinking she's not exactly happy with his choice of hideout. But as it turns out neither was Jo, and she reacted in quite possibly the best way a teenager can...

"Twisted" wrapped up its summer run on Tuesday (Aug. 27), leaving fans of ABC Family's newest hit mystery series to ponder several questions until the show's return in January. Let's take a look at the ends left open, shall we?
- First off, is Vikram alive? At the very end of tonight's episode, Tess (Kimberly Quinn) makes sure no one can hear her in the house, picks up a piece of pottery on her mantle that has a phone number carved on the bottom and dials away. "It's bad. It's really bad. I think it's time for you to come back, Vikram," she says. Boom.
Our prediction: Of course Vikram is out there. No one ever saw his body. No one ever knew he had that secret apartment that Regina visited him at. There's much, much more to this story that clearly involves a large portion of the adults in Green Grove.

Is an unexpected romance blossoming on ‘Twisted’? Lacey has been acting distant towards Danny, especially after the murder of her best friend — but this week, things between them appear to have changed!
New clues, as well as new potential romances, arose on the July 9 episode of Twisted – but still, no one knows who to trust! And just as Danny (Avan Jogia) is beginning to gain the trust of Lacey (Kylie Bunbury) and a couple of townspeople, his mom’s trust in him is starting to waiver. One overall question still remains: What the heck is going to happen?!
Lacey & Regina Meet Again
Regina (Karynn Moore) made a surprise cameo this week! The episode opened with a dream sequence of Lacey’s, involving a peanut butter-indulging ghost of Regina, who had a lot to say in the small amount of time she and Lacey talked — including the fact that Danny Killed Her!

Things keep getting more intense — and befuddling — on ‘Twisted.’ No one knows who to believe, who killed Regina, or whether Danny can be trusted yet.
Regina (Karynn Moore) is still a very dead girl, and Danny (Avan Jogia) is still a very suspicious figure in his hometown, but no one knows whodunnit! On the June 25 episode of Twisted, the pieces started coming together for several characters, but nothing was really resolved enough for the viewers to come to any conclusions. But hey, we’re only through with the third episode; there’s so much more drama to be had!
The Necklace Mystery Is Beginning To Come Together, For Some
In the first episode, the red and gold necklace was the only thing missing from the scene of Regina’s death, and although Danny denied killing her, he was found to be in possession of the necklace at the end of the hour.

For most teens, moving back home after a five-year absence might not be too big of a deal. But for 16-year old Danny Desai, it’s quite a jolt because he’s been away due to murdering his aunt when he was 11 years old.

When "Twisted" premieres on ABC Family this June, it'll have one more member in its ranks who knows from, well, twisted.
Zap2It can exclusively reveal that former "Breaking Bad" vet Christopher Cousins (yep -- Mr. Ted Beneke himself) will be joining the new drama in a recurring capacity as Mayor Rollins.
Presiding over Green Grove, Mayor Rollins is described as having a mega-watt smile and exuding political charm and charisma. Appearing in the series' fifth episode, on hand for the town's annual fall festival, viewers will learn that, despite his show of support for Police Chief Kyle Masterson's (Sam Robards, "Gossip Girl") investigation into the Crane murder (the show's central mystery), Mayor Rollins is not at all pleased with the progress being made.

You may know that I’m already something of a reluctant, if fairly enthusiastic, fan of ABC Family, and most of the shows they put out. If so, I don’t have to sell you on the two new series coming your way this summer (and only really want to sell you on one anyway).
Much as ABC Family may not quite be putting out the best shows on television, if you look at series that are predominantly geared toward a specific demographic… well, I think they might be actually. Younger audiences (and let’s face it, especially female audiences) are caught in a sort of black hole when it comes to television, and shows aimed at them today are either convinced that your brain doesn’t turn on until you’re 20 (actually, it switches off at about 11, and back on at some vague point), or have no real appeal...

"Twisted" and "The Fosters" are joining ABC Family's lineup of original shows. The network ordered both pilots to series.
"ABC Family is synonymous with groundbreaking storytelling and iconic characters," Michael Riley, president of ABC Family, said in a statement. "These new shows will bring the same depth, heart, close relationships and authenticity that our viewers have come to expect and, will pair nicely with our already established pop culture hits."

However, it's not all happy reunions as the young man becomes the prime suspect in a murder when a student is found dead in her home. Although it was widely reported last June that Lionsgate intended to split Mockingjay, the third book in Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games trilogy, into two films, Nina Jacobson, the producer who has been credited with discovering the series, says that decision is "not set in stone" and they are "still figuring it all out."
While those early reports of turning the series of three books into four eventual movies involved splitting Mockingjay in two, similar to what was done with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Jacobson told MTV during The Hunger Games' premiere this past Monday that the decision will depend on the reception of the first film, set for release next week. "Hopefully, people love this movie enough to demand the next one," she said. "Go make that one. Figure out what to do from there."

Wait a second! Isn't the U.S. supposed to be the one with the crazy uptight stick up its ass when it comes to cinema content?!? The UK is Always stealing our thunder, damn it!
According to Variety, Lionsgate U.K. has opted to shave seven seconds off Gary Ross' adaptation of The Hunger Games for Brit audiences in order to achieve a 12A classification in the territory.
The film, which has received a PG-13 rating in the U.S. from the MPAA, was originally given an uncut 15 certificate from the British Board of Film Classification, but Lionsgate was keen to "achieve a particular category" to reach a wider audience in the U.K.
Kids under the age of 12 are allowed to watch 12A films at cinemas if they are taken by an adult. According to the BBFC, "a number of cuts were made in one scene to reduce...

If you’re scratching your head over that last part of the headline: We’ve heard from various sources that The Hunger Games will in fact run for a tiring 142 minutes. Hey, if they’ve got a lot of story to tell…
Discounting this bizarre facet, the past week or so has found yours truly changing his tune on The Hunger Games, with there even being a small leap from “complete and total lack of interest” to “a smidge interest on account of good buzz.” Such minor feelings of affection are more or less sustained by Lionsgate’s new clip, in which Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) takes up a bow & arrow (in what others describe as a training process for the titular competition) and shows off some skills to the Capitol brass by way of an unlucky apple.
Although it’s ever-so-brief, I’m certainly more impressed with the tone and...

Even though the film doesn’t open for another month, The Hunger Games' first-day ticket sales on Wednesday, February 22, broke the previous first-day advance ticket-seller record set by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Theater owners are continuing to add new showtimes while fans are scooping up advance tickets on Fandango.com.
Not convinced you should buy your tickets now? Check out this video message to the citizens of Panem from Elizabeth Banks, one of the film's stars.

We've seen a lot of different viral campaigns over the years, but this one? These ads for The Hunger Games are so ridiculously garish that we kind of dig them. We'll let 'em speak for themselves.

A brand new trailer has been released via Yahoo! Movies for the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games directed by Gary Ross.
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Following the announcement that it would get a one-week run in IMAX, Lionsgate has a new, quick tease at The Hunger Games. The latest trailer for Gary Ross‘ adaptation of Suzanne Collins‘ bestseller goes beyond just the set-up of the first one, showing Jennifer Lawrence getting in more treacherous situations and surroundings. I’m still not sold here, but some of the location design is appealing, including a futuristic train shot by what looks to be a dam. Fans should be pleased though and can see it below via Yahoo for the film also starring Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wes Bentley and Elizabeth Banks.
The large ensemble cast also includes Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg, Jack Quaid, Leven Rambin, Willow Shields, Paula Malcomson, Ian Nelson, Kalia Prescott, Ethan Jamieson, Tara Macken, Chris Mark, Jacqueline Emerson, Ashton Moio, Kara Petersen, Sam Ly, Leigha Hancock, Samuel Tan, Mackenzie Lintz, Imanol Yepez-Frias, Annie Thurman,...
