If you’re not caught up on your peak TV viewing, consider this your spoiler warning. Four months have passed since Jennifer Coolidge bagged her second consecutive Emmy for “The White Lotus” and thus became the eighth drama or comedy series regular honored by the TV academy for a season in which her character died. Emmy nominations of this kind have become quite common in recent years, and it’s possible that over 15% of the 2024 lead and supporting continuing series contenders will be added to the list.
The current consensus among more than 2,400 Gold Derby users is that five continuing series performers whose characters perished within the past year will receive Emmy nominations, while a few others have outside shots at recognition. This does not include characters like Anakin Skywalker who died before their shows’ latest seasons began but appear as ghosts or in flashbacks. Undead characters like most of...

According to Rothrock, Golden Harvest originally signed her to play the villain opposite of Jackie Chan in Armour of God, but when production halted due to Chan's near-fatal filming accident, the studio reassigned Rothrock to Righting Wrongs with Biao. While practicing her moves for the film, she injured her right Acl; rather than take time off to undergo surgery, she proceeded to shoot her scenes using her left leg for her kicks.

Davis Simanis’s period drama Marijas Klusums (Maria’s Silence) centers on a real-life silent movie star in Soviet-era Russia, Maria Leiko, who thought she was untouchable when tricked into moving to Moscow in 1937, only to be murdered a year later by Stalin’s secret police.
And the Latvian film director — who is no stranger to actors — sees parallels between Leiko in Stalin’s Russia and Hollywood and foreign celebrities who became high-profile friends in more recent times with Vladimir Putin, until some of them broke with the Russian leader after he invaded Ukraine two years ago.
“They know how to pretend, they know how to play characters. So if a regime gives you a role, that role sometimes becomes you in a way,” Simanis says of buddies of Putin, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other autocrats around the world for whom make-believe comes easy as entertainers.

Johnny Depp has struck up a “bromance like no other” with Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aka Mbs, says a Vanity Fair profile.
And after getting a royal tour of the Saudi Kingdom, the Pirates of the Caribbean star is eyeing a possible seven-figure deal to become a global cultural ambassador as he shoots movies in the country.
“Though I admit I was somewhat naïve at first to what was transpiring in the region, I’ve since experienced firsthand the cultural revolution that is happening there,” Depp told Vanity Fair.
The magazine profile reveals Depp over the past year has spent around seven weeks in Saudi Arabia, touring the country and getting a firsthand look at its cultural renaissance led by Mbs.

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender series isn’t the first time the iconic animated show has made the leap to live-action. M. Night Shyamalan previously adapted the series with The Last Airbender in 2010, but Avatar fans have been eager to forget that it even exists.
Albert Kim, the showrunner behind the upcoming Netflix series, told Entertainment Weekly that he has actively avoided watching Shyamalan’s Avatar movie. “I’ll tell you something, I never watched the Shyamalan movie,” Kim said. “There was a period of time where I thought I should watch it, but then I thought, I don’t really want those images in my head as I start to go forward with our version of this project. So I avoided it purposefully.“

When Netflix announced their live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, fans were thrilled to learn that original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante Dimartino were involved. However, the Avatar creators exited the project in 2020 due to creative differences. “Many of you have been asking me for updates about the ‘Avatar’ live-action Netflix series,” Dimartino wrote in a blog post. “I can finally tell you that I am no longer involved with the project. In June of this year, after two years of development work, Bryan Konietzko and I made the difficult decision to leave the production.” The pair had signed on as executive producers and showrunners, but apparently “things did not go as we had hoped.“
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Avatar: The Last Airbender showrunner Albert Kim admitted that it was “absolutely” daunting to continue the series without creators Konietzko and Dimartino. “You’d have to be an...

Twenty-three years ago, Willem Dafoe played actor Max Schreck in the film Shadow of the Vampire, which gave a behind-the-scenes look at the making of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) to reveal that Schreck really was a vampire. Now Dafoe has a role in The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of Nosferatu – but he’s not playing the title role. Instead, he’s playing a “crazy vampire hunter” named Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, and Entertainment Weekly has just unveiled an interesting image that shows Dafoe in character! You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
An unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the original Nosferatu has the following synopsis: In this highly influential silent horror film, the mysterious Count Orlok (Max Schreck) summons Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim) to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains.

Detailed Guide to ‘A Christmas Prince’ Film Series ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Films and TV shows do not always have to be profound, with a deeper meaning behind them. They don’t always have to have a conventional format, and they definitely do not always have to be life-changing experiences. And while many films out there aim for substance and depth, sometimes they can get a bit daunting and stressful. Which is why cheesy, guilty pleasure films exist. These are movies that just go for the cheese and clichés, no grand conclusions, no complexities whatsoever. They’re often so bad that it makes them good.
One such film series is the “A Christmas Prince” trilogy. It’s a Christmas romance that was first released in 2017, but apparently, one movie wasn’t enough, so they decided to turn it into a trilogy.

Exclusive: A persuasive argument can be made for The Crown being the jewel in British television’s very own crown, but it was so very nearly an uncut gem. A decade ago, this 60-hour showpiece was perilously close to being an idea filed under: nearly, but not quite. A passion project that lives in the great pantheon of unmade pitches.
The difference maker is not Peter Morgan and his sweeping vision to tell more than 70 years of British history through the eyes of a single woman. It is not the beguiling array of talent swooned by Morgan’s prose. Nor is it the deep pockets of a former DVD rental company that looks to have emerged victorious in the streaming wars.
The difference maker is Andy Harries. Like all great producers, Harries is the consummate salesman. His story of how he shopped The Crown is now woven into British television folklore.

Exclusive: The Crown has been criticized by the Queen’s former press secretary for lacking sensitivity in its portrayal of the events surrounding Princess Diana’s death.
Dickie Arbiter, who worked for Queen Elizabeth II during the period depicted in Season 6, accused The Crown’s creator Peter Morgan of “dramatic license gone bonkers.”
Arbiter was particularly critical of scenes in which Prince Charles (Dominic West) breaks the news of Diana’s death to her sons, Princes William and Harry. Diana is played by Elizabeth Debicki in the final season.
“The sequence of Charles telling his sons of their mother’s death was so insensitive, it was so unnecessary,” he told Deadline. “The death of their mother is still raw with both of them.”
He added: “The scenes between Charles and his mother, in which he blurted out that she wanted Diana to come back in a Harrods van were absolute nonsense.

Bret Baier’s recent Fox News interview with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman took up less than 36 minutes on the cable outlet’s “Special Report.” Behind the scenes, preparations took months.
Baier spent time in the U.S. with Princess Reema, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States, and made a special trip overseas to meet with various ministers and the head of state himself to test their rapport. “I went over on a flier,” says Baier during an interview in Fox News Channel’s New York offices. “I said there was not going to be any laying out of what the questions are, that it was going to be tough but fair. And we came to the end, and he said, ‘I think I’m going to do it.’ It took a few months after that to get it locked down.”
What Baier got was something of a surprise.

Why do we find murder mysteries so uniquely relaxing? This is one of the age-old questions about human nature, up there with ‘what is consciousness?’ and ‘why do we keep eating mouldy cheese and fish eggs like it’s a good thing?’ Because, despite the grief and blood and mountains of paperwork that a gruesome murder causes, we simply can’t get enough of curling up on the sofa with a mug of tea and a cosy crime drama to keep us blissfully entertained all the way through to bedtime.
This isn’t a new thing, either: while modern series like Death in Paradise and Shakespeare and Hathaway are the current champions of cosy crime TV, back in the eighties and nineties classics like Murder She Wrote and Hetty Wainthropp Investigates taught us how it’s done. So whether you’re after the latest in the cosy crime genre or some more nostalgic viewing,...

At the beginning of the summer, Ivanka visited Greece and posted photos of herself and Kushner at historic sites like the Acropolis and the Temple of Apollo in Delphi.
They then traveled to Jordan to attend the royal wedding between Crown Prince Hussein and his wife, Rajwa. Ivanka and Kushner were part of a celebrity guest list, which included First Lady Jill Biden, Prince William and Princess Kate.

Since announcing that she and Kushner would not participate in her father’s presidential campaign, the couple has been taking trips around the world.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s ‘Normal Life’ Is Ending as ‘Duty’ Starts to ‘Take Over’ — Expert
“Normal life” is over for Prince William and Kate Middleton. Sure, they try to bring some semblance of normalcy to their children’s lives. But for the Prince and Princess of Wales, any “normal” existence is largely behind them, according to a royal expert.

Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022 marked the end of an era for the British royal family. Although things had already been changing in the years prior to the monarch’s death.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back as senior “working” royals and relocated to Montecito, California, in 2020. Additionally, Prince Andrew retreated from public life as a working royal after a disastrous 2019 interview.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s general lack of Pda, or public displays of affection, may actually help them. According to an expert, it’s a “wise” move that can sidestep potentially “dramatic and telling” clues about their private lives going public via body language.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are more hands-off with each other compared to other British royals such as Zara and Mike Tindall. Sure, they have their moments, like the rare pat on the butt or hugging at a polo match. But, by in large, they keep Pda to a minimum when they’re out and about.

Arguably one of the most indelible images from the much-discussed Succession finale was that of two hands not quite interlocked. Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) holds out his palm for his wife, Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook), to take in the back of a car. She doesn’t quite grasp it, her hand limply resting in his. It’s a final image of a marriage that audiences witnessed oscillate between flirtation and vitriol during the course of the season.
Of the many threads running through Succession‘s final season, maybe the most captivating was the fractured relationship between Shiv and Tom, who went from playing a bizarre sexualized game called “bitey” to screaming at each other on a terrace during an election night party. By the finale, when Tom was named CEO of the company formerly run by Shiv’s father, their relationship was even more strained.

It's a season of change for both The Crown and the British monarchs at its center. Later this year, the critically acclaimed Netflix drama will come to an end after six seasons and multiple cast overhauls. The Crown Season 6 will bring Queen Elizabeth II's reign into the 21st century as it dramatizes the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the early days of Prince William and Kate Middleton's romance, Prince Charles' public relationship with longtime lover Camilla Parker Bowles, and the country's shifting attitude towards the monarchy.
Meanwhile, Charles III and Camilla were formally crowned as king and queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms on May 6. The coronation — the first such anointing of this century — came eight months after the death of Charles' mother Elizabeth II, whose historic reign inspired The Crown's six-season arc.

As an extension of the Royalteen movie from August 2022, which was a Norwegian Netflix Original film that focused on the life of Crown Prince Karl John and his romance with his classmate Lena, the movie touched on teenage angst and the stress of being a royal. That film came across as a decent romantic drama with a rushed-up ending, but somehow, it got popular, and here we have the spin-off movie of a character who was close to Prince Karl John, his controlling twin sister Margrethe. With her being a royal as well, she goes through her own set of ups and downs but what exactly is the reason behind it? Directed by Ingvild Sderlind, this one is again a Norwegian Netflix Original film set to be released on the streaming platform on May 11, 2023.

Royalteen, 2022, a Norwegian Netflix original film, ended on a sweet note when Lena and Karl got back together. The two of them accept each other for who they are, especially knowing the background Karl comes from. It is a huge step for him to accept the fact that he is in love with a teenage mother. In the last scene of the movie, we see Princess Margrethe, the controlling twin sister of Karl John, having a glass of wine at the prom and feeling dizzy as the people around her are dancing and celebrating. As she feels dizzy, Margrethe faints, and one gets to see her tearing up before going unconscious. Is she feeling that way because she is overwhelmed around people? Since she is a royal, certain things are expected of her which may have caused some undiagnosed stress. It can be assumed from the last shot that there...

“At the height of the Cold War, the CIA is tasked with an audacious covert mission: recovering a sunken Soviet nuclear submarine from the bottom of the ocean,” notes a description of the documentary. “The mission hangs in the balance as the agency and its activities are caught in a power play between the press and the White House. With firsthand accounts from the principal players, Neither Confirm Nor Deny is a timely look into America’s clandestine underbelly with a long history of questionable tactics.

Lionel Richie had the crowd singing “All Night Long” during King Charles III’s coronation concert!
On Sunday, the “American Idol” judge took the stage for a performance in honor of the new king at Windsor Castle. For his set, Richie kicked things off with “Easy (Like Sunday Morning).”
Sitting at the piano, Richie got the audience singing along as they waved their hands and lit up phones from side to side.
He then got them on their feet with his upbeat hit, “All Night Long.” It was obvious that the royal family was happy to have the “Hello” singer there as they sang along to his songs, with Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s children, George and Charlotte, waving little union jack flags in excitement and Charles himself showing off some of his dance moves.

Lots of times while watching The Night Owl, I thought the movie might be losing its initial mojo. But it keeps surviving each time and gets right back on track. It is a bold thing to plot a medical thriller in a period-piece setting and put a blind man at the center of all the chaos, but the South Korean film industry is known for taking on projects like that and pulling them off with panache. It doesn’t always work seamlessly though, for example- The Night Owl, which draws its primary inspiration from the mysterious death of Prince Soheyon of the Joseon Dynasty, is a film filled with issues. There are tonal inconsistencies, plot points that don’t make much sense, not-so-convincing acting, and the story is not particularly riveting. But I have always believed that the craft matters more than the story, and this movie has only strengthened that belief.

King Charles III’s coronation wasn’t without some glitz and glam, including regalia such as scepters and shiny robes. However, according to the king’s late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, one piece of his coronation attire — a crown — had what she once described as a “rather sad” element.
King Charles followed in Queen Elizabeth’s footsteps wearing the Imperial State Crown to his coronation
Despite the addition of some modern touches, King Charles stuck to tradition during his May 6 coronation. One such tradition included wearing the same crown his mother wore to her 1953 coronation.
