After three seasons, “We’re going out with a bang,” says CSI: Vegas showrunner Jason Tracey as the CSIs at the Crime Lab work the last case we’ll see on the CBS drama on May 19. “There’s never been a more personal case on CSI: Vegas. There are some very big cards left to turn over on our AI/robotics storyline, and Allie’s [Mandeep Dhillon] season-long effort to reconfigure how partnerships work at the lab. I’m so proud of how this cast and crew are bringing our story home,” Tracey tells TV Insider. Following the explosion at the bio lab in the penultimate episode, Chris (Jay Lee) has been left unconscious and Max (Paula Newsome) abducted while calling Catherine (Marg Helgenberger). “Nobody is safe,” the showrunner warns. The Bold and the Beautiful had a special guest today in the form of Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) from The Young and the Restless.
Lauren has played a pivotal role in The Bold and the Beautiful for decades, just like she has on Y&r.
Despite calling Genoa City home and settling down with Michael (Christian LeBlanc), Lauren occasionally pops back up in Los Angeles.
That’s why it shouldn’t be too surprising that The Young and the Restless fan favorite is back on B&b.
We last saw Lauren for the epic Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric (John McCook) fashion showdown.
Now Lauren is back to make sure her old nemesis really is dead and reminisce about a villain who wreaked havoc on her life.
Why is Y&r’s Lauren on The Bold and the Beautiful?
Lauren has returned to B&b because of Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). Y&r fans...

After marking their territory with their forward-thinking 2011 debut, Black Up, Shabazz Palaces—the brainchild of Ishmael Butler and Tendai “Baba” Maraire—has released a slew of projects that could be charitably characterized as intellectual exercises. And 2017’s Quazarz and 2020’s The Don of Diamond Dreams found the Afrofuturist group’s sound becoming abstract to the point of oversimplification. These albums are loaded with thin beats, sparse production choices, and lyrics that swing between haughty and nursery-rhyme plainness.
Shabazz Palaces’s sixth album—and second after Maraire’s departure from the group—Robed in Rareness continues in this stripped-down mode. It’s easily their least substantial work to date, running a scant 24 minutes and composed of seven tracks. And yet, it still includes meandering material like the barely thought-out “Scarface Mace” and the bland “Hustle Crossers.”

Al Jaffee, the trailblazing and culture-bending cartoonist for Mad magazine, has died. He was 102.
Jaffee, who celebrated his birthday March 13, died Monday in a Manhattan hospital of multisystem organ failure, his granddaughter Fani Thomson told The New York Times.
Jaffee was known for a number of Mad’s trademark features, including Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions and the “fold-in,” the drawing that ran on the back inside cover of every issue and could be revealed by folding the page vertically and inward.
Mad launched in 1952 at the height of anti-communist fervor and Jaffee arrived as a contributor three years later. When he retired in 2020 at age 99, he was the magazine’s longest-tenured contributor, though he always worked freelance and never was on staff.
“No one knew that Mad was going to go on for 50 or 60 years. I figured, ‘All right, I’ll do the best I can with Mad for as long as it lasts,...

CSI: Vegas just closed its ongoing silver ink case, which was introduced at the end of Season 1. So now will be seeing strictly cases-of-the-week for the rest of Season 2? “We’ve got some cases, we’ve got another little arc coming to do with — in this season, we’ve seen how difficult it is for Folsom [Matt Lauria], who grew up in Vegas around some very rough stuff, and he’s got some challenging family members and that’s going to come to the fore,” showrunner Jason Tracey recently told TV Insider. “We do have plenty of big cases of the week, but we also have the rumbles of and a ramp-up to a very personal finale and I think it might be time to focus on Folsom.” The aforementioned silver ink case closed out Season 1. Will this spring’s finale (airing May 18) similarly set up a multi-episode case for next year?...

Chris Ledesma, who served as the beloved music editor of The Simpsons on every one of its first 734 episodes, from the Fox animated series’ premiere in 1989 through a 34th-season installment in November, has died. He was 64.
Ledesma died Dec. 16 in Los Angeles, a spokesperson for the show told The Hollywood Reporter. No cause of death was revealed.
Ledesma had been hired to fill in as a music editor on Fox’s The Tracey Ullman Show, where The Simpsons began as a series of shorts playing in and out of commercials. He then started on the spinoff on Nov. 22, 1989.
“I was skeptical of turning the little 30- and 60-second featurettes on Tracey into a full-fledged, half-hour show,” he wrote on his blog in 2011. “All that went out the window as soon as I saw the first two shows.”
