Studiocanal has promoted Chloé Marquet to Head of International Sales for Films and TV Series, in a move that will see the TV sales team now report to her.
Marquet in turn will report to Anne Chérel, Studiocanal EVP Global Sales and Distribution.
Pauline Saint-Hilaire, who is currently head of International Library Sales, has had her remit expanded to include documentaries and catalogue TV series, in addition to catalogue film sales and direct sales to channels and local platforms.
She will report to Juliette Hochart Studiocanal EVP Library.

Studiocanal has signed a deal with Metropolitan Filmexport for worldwide rights to the entire film catalog of acclaimed French director Claude Lelouch.
The deal, announced at the Cannes Film Market on Saturday, includes more than 40 films, among them such French classics as A Man and a Woman (1966) — winner of the 1966 Palme d’Or, as well as two Oscars, for best international film and best original screenplay — Live for Life (1967), Love Is a Funny Thing (1969), The Crook (1970), Money Money Money (1972), Happy New Year (1973), Bolero (1981), Itinerary of a Spoilt Child (1988) and Les Misérables (1995).
Studiocanal has been handling French TV rights for the Lelouch catalog for the past seven years. The new deal will give the group exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the director’s vast catalog, as well as SVOD, free-on-demand and AVOD rights in France. Metropolitan will continue to distribute Lelouch’s films in theaters, on video and through transactional video-on-demand (Tvod) in France.

We’re now in the month of Cannes Film Festival 2023 and they have a few more surprises up their sleeves thanks to the announcement of their Cannes Classics lineup. After being heavily rumored, it’s now confirmed a posthumous film from the legendary Jean-Luc Godard will premiere at the festival, billed as “Trailer of the film that will never exist: Phony Wars” and clocking at 20 minutes. Described as “the ultimate gesture of cinema,” Godard wrote this accompanying text: “No longer trusting the billions of diktats of the alphabet to give back their freedom to the incessant metamorphoses and metaphors of a true language by returning to the places of past shootings, while taking into account the present stories.”

AGC International and Image Nation Abu Dhabi have unveiled a slick first teaser trailer for Al Kameen (The Ambush), about the rescue mission of a small group of Emirati soldiers trapped by rebel fighters in a mountainous valley. According to producers, the film is the largest Arabic-language film ever made in the Gulf, with 400 cast and crew including an all-Emirati lead cast. Pic was shot entirely in the UAE and stars Marwan Abdulla Saleh, Khalifa Al Jassem and Mohammed Ahmed. The film was co-produced by AGC Studios and Image Nation Abu Dhabi and directed by Pierre Morel (Taken), with producers Derek Dauchy and Jennifer Roth (Black Swan). Studiocanal Set to Re-Release ‘Breathless’ Following Success With ‘Flash Gordon,’ ‘The Elephant Man’
Leading producer-distributor Studiocanal, which boasts one of the biggest film libraries in the world with more than 5,500 movies, is gearing up for a slew of major theatrical and DVD releases sure to titillate fans of classic cinema, among them Jean-Luc Godard’s beloved 1960 film “Breathless.”
The company has enjoyed recent successes with re-releases of such classics as David Lynch’s 1980 Victorian drama “The Elephant Man,” Volker Schlöndorff’s 1979 Oscar-winning “The Tin Drum” and Mike Hodges’ 1980 sci-fi extravaganza “Flash Gordon.”
Studiocanal is expecting similar success with its newly restored reissues.
“Breathless” is “one of our biggest upcoming catalog releases,” said Juliette Hochart, Studiocanal’s executive VP of library.
The film will be released in theaters in France on Oct. 28, in Germany the following day and in the U.K. on Nov. 13. It will also be reissued in other territories, such as Italy and Japan, in 2021.

European major Studiocanal has signed an enhanced distribution agreement with Under The Milky Way, the global VOD aggregator.
Since 2011, Under The Milky Way has been iTunes’ preferred aggregator and now works in more than 100 territories, handling international rights aggregation on behalf of producers, sales agents and distributors.
The company will begin repping more than 450 Studiocanal library titles for transactional digital distribution in Europe, plus Latin America, Asia and Canada. The previous deal only covered Latin America.
Movies on offer include latest 4K restored version of Apocalypse Now, which will be released digitally this summer, as well as Elephant Man, the Rambo trilogy, Basic Instinct and Bridget Jones. There are also more than 300 French titles that will now be available for digital distribution in Canada, including films by François Ozon, Claude Sautet, and Jacques Tati.
