Apple TV+’s “Franklin,” which stars Michael Douglas, has its world premiere at series festival Canneseries on April 10 in Cannes, France. The show is produced by ITV Studios America and Apple Studios. “Franklin’s” journey to the screen began when producer Tony Krantz optioned Stacy Schiff’s book “A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America.” Starting in December 1776, “A Great Improvisation” follows Benjamin Franklin, best known as an inventor, as he travels from Britain’s colonies in America on a secret mission to enlist France’s support in the War of Independence, which the Americans are losing.
In 2017, Krantz, who had a first-look deal with ITV Studios America through his company Flame Ventures, suggested that Maigret read the book. “We immediately realized we shared the same...

Horror enthusiasts have another reason to celebrate as Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Life of Chuck‘ takes shape. Initially teasing fans with big names such as Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, and Karen Gillan, the excitement intensified with the inclusion of horror legends Heather Langenkamp and Matthew Lillard.
It’s interesting to note that this isn’t the first collaboration between Flanagan and Langenkamp. They previously teamed up for Netflix’s ‘The Midnight Club,’ which aired back in 2022. While Langenkamp’s return to Flanagan’s fold has garnered attention, the addition of Matthew Lillard, famed for roles in ‘Scream’ and ‘Thirteen Ghosts,’ further beefs up the roster.
And the surprises don’t end there. Mia Sara, remembered fondly from ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Out,’ makes a significant comeback after a hiatus from the limelight. Others joining the project include David Dastmalchian, Harvey Guillén, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Antonio Raul Corbo,...

I don't know what to say.
What was that? No, but seriously, what was it?
This formerly great series ended abruptly withIn The Dark Season 4 Episode 13. It genuinely pains me to my core to say that it was unequivocally one of the worst finales I've ever witnessed.
In the Dark has always been a series that has dabbled into so many different realms that it never knew fully what it wanted to be. And the cabin sequence of events felt like something pulled from a two-bit horror flick.
It genuinely sucks to see this series fizzle away into this. In hindsight, the longer the season progressed, the easier it was to accept that the series had to end.
After a finale like that, I don't know if this series had any more gas in the tank to pull off another season that would be remotely watchable. The series had already...

Oh, In the Dark, you're guaranteed to provide us with utter madness and chaos.
On an exciting note, Morgan Krantz took a spin in the director's chair for In The Dark Season 4 Episode 7, directing his first installment of the series, and it's so much fun when an actor does that.
They know the characters in a particular way and get to translate that through their direction. You can typically notice a person's distinctive style, too. I love that Krantz had that opportunity and did so well.
But back to the absolute bonkers action that happened throughout this installment.
We still don't know why Darnell is at the level of pissed he was at Murphy other than "because... plot."
For most of the installment, we were stuck with Great Value Darnell, who bitched and moaned after Gene and Sarah's parent-trapped him and Murphy into working with one another.
He nitpicked the whole time,...

Michael Douglas is taking it back to the 18th century.
The Oscar winner returns to the small screen with the upcoming AppleTV+ series “Franklin,” based on the life of founding father Benjamin Franklin. Douglas takes on the titular role, with the series adapted from Pulitzer Prize winner Stacy Schiff’s book, “A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America.”
The eight-episode drama series delves into how, at age 70 and without diplomat training, Franklin convinced the French monarchy to financially support American independence.
“By virtue of his fame, charisma, and ingenuity, Franklin outmaneuvered British spies, French informers, and hostile colleagues,” the official synopsis reads, “all while engineering the Franco-American alliance of 1778 and the final peace with England of 1783. The eight-year French mission stands as Franklin’s most vital service to his country, without which America would not have won the Revolution.”
“Franklin” additionally stars Noah Jupe, Ludivine Sagnier, Thibault de Montalembert,...
