About a month ago I posted promo photos for the upcoming season 8 premiere of 24 (which is set to air over two nights on January 17th and January 18th). Fox has now released more, including shots with newcomer Freddie Prinze Jr. I don't mind Freddie, but I rarely see him in any dramatic (sorry, I Know What You Did Last Summer doesn't count), so I'm interested to see how he fares in 24.
Series Returns with Two-Hour Premiere Event Sunday, January 17, on Fox
Katee Sackhoff, Freddie Prinze Jr., Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd, Jennifer Westfeldt and Chris Diamantopoulos have joined the cast of 24 for the series’ eighth season. The Emmy Award-winning drama starring Kiefer Sutherland returns for its next astonishing day with a two-night, four-hour premiere beginning Sunday, Jan. 17 (9:00-11:00 Pm Et/Pt) on Fox.
Season Eight will unfold in New York City amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations. »

Fox released these promo images from the upcoming eighth season of their action-adventure show “24″ earlier this month, but you know that old mantra, better late than never. So, here are promo images from Season 8 of “24″, featuring Jack Bauer in the Big Apple trying to save that guy from “Slumdog Millionaire” from getting an RPG shot up his buttocks. Hey, it’s a thankless job, but someone’s gotta do it. Keifer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Elisha Cuthbert, Cherry Jones, and Annie Wersching return from Season 7. They are joined by new victims — er, I mean, castmembers — Anil Kapoor, Katee Sackhoff, Freddie Prinze Jr., Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd, and Chris Diamantopoulos. Day 8 commences January 17, 2010 with a 2-hour premiere. »

If it’s December (or thereabouts), it must be one more month before Jack Bauer invades TV screens again. Yup, that’s right, ladies and gents, Bauer and company (and a newly resurrected CTU) returns to save the day January 2010. Check out three new promo spots for the upcoming Season 8. I gotta admit, after Season 7, I was a little down on the show, but it sure looks like transplanting the action from L.A. to New York has given the show a whole new vitality it hasn’t had in a while. Returning players include Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe O’Brian, Annie Wersching as Renee Walker, and Cherry Jones as President Allison Taylor. Also back, Gregory Itzin as the scheming former Prez Charles Logan. They’re joined by Mykelti Williamson as the head of CTU New York, Katee Sackhoff as CTU agent Dana Walsh, »

The anticipation for Season Eight of 24 continues to surge with Gregory Itzin reprising his acclaimed role as Charles Logan. The Emmy Award-winning drama starring Kiefer Sutherland returns for its next astonishing day with a two-night, four-hour premiere event Sunday, Jan. 17 (9:00-11:00 Pm Et/Pt) and Monday, Jan. 18 (8:00-10:00 Pm Et/Pt) on Fox.
The disgraced former President Logan was last seen after being shockingly stabbed by First Lady Martha Logan (Jean Smart) in Season Six. Itzin's return to 24 will bring together the series' two Emmy-nominated "presidents" for the first time when sitting President Allison Taylor (Emmy Award winner Cherry Jones) reluctantly enlists Logan to assist with an escalating international diplomatic crisis.
When asked about this on-screen pairing, 24 executive producer Howard Gordon said, "The opportunity for these two remarkable actors to share the stage was simply too compelling to pass up."

Chicago – The standard DVD season sets for “24” have long been setting the bar for what TV on DVD “should be”. Winning awards for their technical transfers and detailed, copious special features, the producers of “24“‘s home releases took it a step further this year by changing the game yet again with the Blu-Ray release of “24: Season Seven”.
Blu-Ray Rating: 5.0/5.0 After a lackluster first season release (which they made up for with a “Special Edition” a few years later), the next five seasons of “24” were essentially perfect TV on DVD releases. They had informative, detailed special features, gorgeous video & audio, and fascinating commentary tracks. And it didn’t hurt that they were for some of the most beloved programming of the ’00s.
Season seven was clearly a chance for “24” to change the game again. The sixth season had been a clear winner for worst of the series to date by »

It was a star-studded red carpet at Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood party in La last night. Lauren Conrad is a staple at the yearly bash and looked angelic in white after spicing it up in yellow to give out spoilers at PaleyFest. Her ex Doug Reinhardt was there, attached at the hip with Paris Hilton as usual, though we'd rather gaze at Jon Hamm with Jennifer Westfeldt by his side. Even Kara DioGuardi stopped by after American Idol's double elimination night. Never ones to miss an event, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, back from their bikini trip to Mexico, made it out for the festivities as the gorgeous crowd partied the night away. I have to admit, 24’s current Season 7 is not exactly the pinnacle of excellence, but it’s still the damn best action-adventure show on TV right now. Yes, even after this week’s Wtf moment with Tony Almeida. Is he or isn’t he, guys? Decide already! Anyways, now that we know the show’s 8th season (set to commence production next month!) will be set in New York and that CTU will be back, EW adds that FBI agent Renee Walker (played by Annie Wersching) will survive Season 7 and return for a pivotal role in Season 8 along with the show’s female prez, played by Cherry Jones. Says EW’s Michael Ausiello: Not only is she coming back next season, but exec producer Howard Gordon tells me that “some part of her past will be necessary in the context of the next crisis.” Gordon also confirms that Cherry Jones »
