Could the John Wick universe be poised to introduce an assassin even more formidable than the legendary Baba Yaga (Keanu Reeves) himself? Well, it seems the possibility is high since the acclaimed action franchise is expanding again with Donnie Yen’s enigmatic character, Caine, the blind master of lethality. For the unversed, he was introduced to us in John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023).

Lionsgate is now weaving a new tale in the form of a John Wick spinoff movie centered around Caine, with the veteran Hong Kong action hero, now 60, set to reprise the role again.
While speculation abounds and no director has been announced, the project, highlighted by the skilled hands of producers Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, the original series’ director Chad Stahelski, promises to carry the torch forward with authenticity.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s Road House remake has delivered an exceptional performance after its release on Amazon Prime. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has been successful on the Ott platform. During his press tour for John Wick 4, Keanu Reeves was asked about the two “martial arts legends” in Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada he got to work with in the film and made a point of adding Scott Adkins to this list. These three, he said, were “real martial artists” (as opposed to himself, a “movie martial artist”), and asserted that “Adkins’ technique, his passion, is on another level.”
While that was high praise indeed from cinema’s current bloodied action franchise king, for the legions of international fans Adkins has amassed in the two decades he’s been spin-kicking, backflipping and acrobatically whooping ass on screen, it was no more than he deserved. Across some 60-plus titles, the Brit has shown off both his prowess in more martial arts disciplines than most people have heard of — including Taekwondo, Judo, Karate, Ninjitsu, Capoeira, Krav Maga, Wushu, Muay Thai, Kung Fu,...

Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror, who played, respectively, the heavies Killa and Chidi in John Wick 4, will reunite in the upcoming action film Diablo.
Chilean director Ernesto Díaz Espinoza, known for such action films as The Fist of the Condor and Redemer, is set to direct Diablo from a screenplay by Mat Sansom. Diablo is being set up as a co-production between Film Mode Entertainment and Wonder Street, with Film Mode handling foreign sales, and collaborating with Wonder for domestic. The filmmakers will hold a buyers presentation for the project in Cannes on May 15.
Adkins will play Kris Chaney, a recently released ex-convict embarking on a perilous mission. He kidnaps Elisa, the daughter of a powerful gangster, which puts him in danger. Zaror will portray El Corvo, a psychopathic killer seeking revenge against Vincent’s family.
Diablo is currently in pre-production and will shoot Chile, the home country of Zaror and Espinoza.

Martial arts and stunt legend Scott Adkins got a chance to really go for it with his role in "John Wick: Chapter 4." After bugging franchise director Chad Stahelski for years to cast him in an actual role, the English stunt performer finally got his moment in the spotlight, playing the German head of the High Table, who's basically the bad boss at the end of the video game, Killa Harkan.
The hulking crime boss was a truly unique role for the prolific martial arts actor, who was previously known for his performance in "Undisputed II" and for playing karate expert and cartoonishly racist Marine gunnery sergeant Barton Geddes in "Ip Man 4: The Finale." That role saw him act opposite Hong Kong martial arts legend Donnie Yen, who would once again find himself faced with one of Adkins' grotesque villains in "John Wick: Chapter 4." John Wick finds himself on a journey to freedom and salvation in "John Wick: Chapter 4," and the path to his destination is a tricky one. Danger lurks in almost every city he sets foot in, and death follows him wherever he goes. Among the many obstacles in his path, apart from the ruthless Marquis (Bill Skarsgård), is Scott Adkins' Killa, an eccentric member of the High Table who loves toying with his adversaries before taking them out. In the attempt to be re-inducted into the Ruska Roma, John sets out to meet Killa and ends up in a stalemate when other players, who want him dead for personal reasons, convene at Killa's nightclub.
Adkins underwent an intense transformation to play the formidable German High Table member, taking inspiration from many sources to create an ex-assassin whose menace now has an edge.

The action sequence montage that was "John Wick: Chapter 4" has cemented the series' status as a serious blockbuster franchise (even though the movie has only slightly outdone the third entry's domestic box office). Director Chad Stahelski's approach recalls that of George Lucas when he conceived of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as a series of adventure set pieces, then hired writer Lawrence Kasdan to connect them all together narratively. But in Stahelski's case, his John Wick movies are basically a series of insane gun-fu action scenes threaded together with a much more loose narrative and bolstered by multi-layered lore.
And with the latest entry, those action scenes took even more precedence, as Stahelski and his team pushed themselves to outdo previous entries. With a final act that is basically a full hour of non-stop combat and stunt choreography, the director and his team certainly managed to fill the...

This was my dad's favorite story: One morning, when I was four years old, a jingling chain and a loud thump woke me. I crept downstairs to investigate and found my dad -- drenched in sweat -- punching a leather hanging bag. Without hesitating, I said, "I want to do that, too." Although it surprised him, he replied, "Alrighty, kiddo." He enrolled me in karate that week. Soon, martial arts became our thing. On Saturdays, we attended regional tournaments in crowded gyms. I competed in sparring, and my dad refereed. Before and after matches, we'd spend hours debating scores, questioning techniques, and musing on the dangers of executing flashy movements amidst incoming kicks.
For over two decades, I've studied martial arts both to honor my dad's memory and because my bones can't remember a time before I did. As a result,...

In "John Wick: Chapter 4," Chad Stahelski's latest, bonkers action spectacle, the titular assassin (played by Keanu Reeves) needs to find a way to request a duel on behalf of a crime family, but his excommunicado status requires him to jump through several hoops. A deal with the Ruska Roma leads John straight to German High Table senior member Killa (Scott Adkins), whose menacing presence immediately reinvigorates an already-thrilling saga of brutal revenge and possible redemption.
Adkins plays Killa with a sense of larger-than-life smug villainy while sitting behind a table and dealing the hand in an absurd, "Casino Royale"-esque poker game that is set to determine John's fate. If you know anything about poker, then you probably know that the poker scene in "Casino Royale" is one of the craziest scenes ever put to film. It features James Bond (Daniel Craig) in a high-stakes game with a bunch of other players -- a game that culminates in a four-way all in. The first guy has a flush (a great hand), the second guy has a full house (an amazing hand), and the third guy has a higher full house. The third guy, who's also the villain of the movie, smirks at Bond at this point, because his hand is so absurdly, improbably good, that the only way for Bond to win is if he's luckiest person in the entire world.
But James Bond isn't just lucky; he's cool. And there's nothing in the world that's cooler than having a straight...

The label "direct-to-video" used to be a death knell for filmmakers and movie fans alike. In the early days of home video, the term typically referred to features that weren't good enough to get theatrical distribution, causing studios to subsequently dump them onto the shelves of Blockbusters and Hollywood Videos, where — via gaudy box art, ridiculous taglines and/or highlighting the name of a slumming movie star or a legit celebrity (who would likely only have a cameo role) — they would try to entice naïve renters to check it out.

To dub John Wick: Chapter 4 one of the weaker sequels in franchise canon says more about the bulletproof exterior of Chapter 2 and Parabellum. Director Chad Stahelski abides by the country-hopping, Gun-Fu trademarks of Mr. Wick’s odyssey thus far, delivering everything longtime fans desire. Keanu Reeves headshots his way through nightlife bodyguards, action superstars camouflaged under prosthetics, and hired assassins with all the grace of a ballerina gliding across venue stages. Except, this time there’s something different — you can feel the runtime. An almost three-hour Grecian epic turned into a blistering action spectacle stretches thin as the third act culminates, a first for any John Wick movie.
Even still, John Wick: Chapter 4 keeps its foot on the gas, and the tank ain’t empty yet. It just happens to be hitched to one of the greatest American action franchises.

There's an ancient saying: "Before you set out on revenge, first dig two graves." The axiom has been attributed to everyone from Confucius to James Bond, but while its origins are indeterminate, its sentiment is evergreen. Revenge is a deadly business that will likely consume the soul — if not the life — of anyone who seeks it.
John Wick (played with brooding soulfulness by Keanu Reeves) can attest to the truth of that saying, as can many of his friends and enemies. In the latest installment of his saga, "John Wick: Chapter 4," the daughter of Wick's friend Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada), Akira (Rina Sawayama), observes that "everything he touches, dies." Another of Wick's on-again, off-again allies, Winston (Ian McShane) pleads with John to know where his roaring rampage of revenge will end. John himself, as ever, isn't sure of the particulars.

Keanu Reeves revealed in a new interview with ComicBook.com that he once split open a man’s head during a stunt scene gone wrong while making one of the “John Wick” movies. Reeves has four “John Wick” movies under his belt, and the action franchise has required him to do insane stunts involving speeding cars, nunchucks, swords and more.
“Well I mean everyone is pretty tired – but it’s the best kind of tired,” Reeves said when asked about what kind of accidents have taken place on the action-heavy “John Wick” sets. “It’s like you climbed a mountain now you’re resting; like you finished the game and you won.”
“So in terms of accidents: I made a mistake once – I cut a gentleman’s head open,” Reeves continued. “So that really fucking sucked – excuse my language. But other than that…oh, one guy got hit by a car.

The “John Wick” franchise has a reputation for razzle-dazzle filmmaking and serving as demo reels for some of the world’s finest – or at least most promising – action movie stars. “John Wick: Chapter 4” is no exception, with Donnie Yen taking center stage alongside franchise star Keanu Reeves, as Hiroyuki Sanada and Marko Zaror lend prestige and support. Bringing the opposite of “prestige,” at least in terms of the role he plays in the Chad Stahelski-directed actioner, is Scott Adkins.
Adkins has made a name for himself as one of the preeminent filmmakers in the world of direct-to-consumer (DVD/VOD/streaming/etc.) action movies. The likes of Adkins, Michael Jai White, Tony Jaa, Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren hold court in low-budget genre flicks helmed by directors like Isaac Florentine, Jesse V. Johnson, Christian Sesma, and the Kirby Brothers, that emphasize quality action sequences delivered with visual...

I’ve had a sort of Star Trek thing going on with the John Wick franchise: the odd-numbered films have never fully impressed us, while the even-numbered John Wick: Chapter 2 was a dazzling tour de force that elevated the series to a whole new level of action filmmaking. So I’m happy to report that the odd-even rule continues to be in effect. John Wick: Chapter 4 is a frequently astonishing epic that moves the story forward from the relative wheel-spinning of Chapter 3, using its whopping two-hour-and-49-minute runtime to deliver more stunning action, a heavier dose of humor, and even some moments of reflection and character development that may make the pace flag a little but ultimately provide satisfaction.
The film, once again directed by Chad Stahelski and of course starring Keanu Reeves as the title assassin/avenging angel of death, also brings John’s story to a possible conclusion of sorts,...

Scott Adkins can be a menacing man if the script calls. The action star recently had some fun in the vamp, action-comedy Day Shift, but he’s been very busy starring in flicks like the recent Accident Man: Hitman’s Holiday. And now, this impressive fellow joins the cast of the excellent sequel, John Wick: Chapter 4. In it, Adkins plays a fellow appropriately named ‘Killa.’ And yes, the dude fits perfectly into this wild world. Joining Mr. Adkins in the fourth John Wick includes a few heavy hitters in the action world, making it all the more thrilling for those of us in the audience to take in.
Recently, I spoke to some of the cast members of John Wick: Chapter 4. It’s been amazing having the chance to cover each of these films, and this fourth time feels particularly special with folks like Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Mr. Scott Adkins.

There is a go-for-broke, frenzied aura upon John Wick: Chapter 4. Even for a franchise so heavily steeped in bullets and body count, this outing finds a way to leave all its cards on the table. Seemingly fashioned with a “no bad ideas” ethos, John Wick: Chapter 4 gleefully trades in the kind of maximalist excess that characterized last year’s Babylon. In a similar fashion, not only does Chapter 4 endeavor to be a potentially final John Wick movie, it plays as an attempt at the last action movie ever made.
Following his improbable spill off the Continental rooftop at the close of Chapter 3, Keanu Reeves’ Boogeyman has taken refuge from the High Table––the invisible hand that controls this neon-coated world––in the company of the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne). In the wake of retribution from the powers that be, the two personae non grata embark on a globetrotting...
