- Writer
- Actor
- Production Department
Brooklynite, Octavia's professional screenwriting journey began with the success of her viral voice-acted animated series, Uneducated, written shortly after completing her degree from CUNY, Brooklyn College in 2016, loosely basing the premise of the work on her own life experiences.
Reaching over 1.2 million YouTube views for the series finale, Octavia produced Uneducated as a live-action pilot after deciding to expand on the story, recreating it as a Brooklyn-based series. The project crowdfunded 77% of its goal on Indiegogo and screened to a sold-out auditorium at Brooklyn Public Library in 2019.
Since then, Octavia has worked on indie films while building a portfolio of pilots, including a revision of Uneducated and the fantasy Grains of Time on Coverfly's Red List for Half-hour Fantasy.
Octavia is a 10 ten time finalist for various screenwriting competitions and a second rounder for Black Boy/Girl Writes 2022.
Octavia tells stories ranging from Brooklyn-based dramedies to animated fantasy with leading BIPOC characters.
