The British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) have revealed the nomination longlists for Best Feature Documentary and Best International Independent Film categories. In addition, BIFA’s Raindance Discovery Award longlist has also been unveiled.
Of the 15 films longlisted for Best Feature Documentary, eight are directed by women. The 17 films longlisted for Best International Independent Film have already won top prizes from this year’s premier international festivals.
The final five nominations in each category will be announced in early November and winners will be revealed at the 25th annual BIFA ceremony on Dec. 4.

MetFilm has announced the release date and debuted a trailer for the documentary ‘A Bunch of Amateurs.’
To be released in UK cinemas on 11 November, the doc follows the members of Britain’s oldest amateur film club, the film won the Audience Award at this year’s Sheffield Doc Fest.
Members of a quintessentially British working-class amateur filmmaking club, ‘Bradford Movie Makers’ grow old together amid flickering memories and challenging final years. See How They Run
Hollywood-set whodunnit See How They Run is to open this year's Glasgow Youth Film Festival, it was announced today. The film, which stars Adrien Brody, Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan, is part of a line-up co-programmed by Glasgow Film and Gyff Young Programmers aged 15-19.
Special guests at the festival will include directors Paul Morris (Angry Young Men) and Kim Hopkins (A Bunch Of Amateurs), producer Margareta Szabo, fashion academic Casci Richie and screenwriter Niamh McCowan. There will be a series of workshops run by Behind the Scenes Labs in Association with BFI Film Academy, focused on developing skills from screenwriting to cinematography and scoring films. It will close with a special screening of Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge!

MetFilm Sales has boarded Sheffield Doc Fest feature “A Bunch Of Amateurs.” The film is set to have its world premiere at the U.K. festival on Friday (Jun 24).
Directed by Kim Hopkins (“Voices of the Sea”), “A Bunch of Amateurs” tells the story of the world’s oldest amateur film club, Bradford Movie Makers, which is desperately trying to survive.
