Lee Mead has no plans to watch Gareth Gates in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, he has confirmed. The Any Dream Will Do winner stepped down from the West End show's lead role at the beginning of the year and was replaced by Gates, who found fame on Pop Idol in 2002. Katie Price has admitted that she regrets having sex with Gareth Gates when she was pregnant. The pair slept together in 2002 when the Pop Idol runner-up was just 17. Gareth Gates and his wife Suzanne are expecting a girl. The newlyweds have revealed Suzanne - who fell pregnant the day after their wedding last year - is due to give birth to their daughter on April 12.
The 24-year-old singer said: "At 20 weeks we were pleased to discover that it was a girl. I was so happy. I think Suzanne wanted a boy. I was in floods of tears."
Gareth - who is currently starring as Joseph in the West End theater production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" - admits he didn't plan to start a family so soon, and was shocked to discover how quickly Suzanne fell pregnant.
He said: "I thought we'd enjoy a few months together before babies came along but I couldn't be happier. Suzanne wanted to start the day after the wedding!"

Will Young won't include his duet with Gareth Gates when he releases a Greatest Hits album. The singer confirmed that he 'isn't a fan' of the pair's cover of the Beatles song 'The Long And Winding Road' and plans to leave it off his singles collection. "I've never really had a single that's completely bombed, but there are ones I prefer more than others," he told Digital Spy. Gareth Gates has confirmed that he has no plans to record a fourth album in the near future. The Pop Idol runner-up has vowed to concentrate on theatre work after securing the lead role in the West End version of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Asked if he is plotting a return to music in an interview with the Daily Mail, Gates replied: "No. Maybe in the future I will. I'm just really pleased I've got this role. It's what I've wanted since I could sing. When I rang my dad to tell him I'd got the part, he said, 'I'm more happy about this than I was when you were in Pop Idol.' (more) »

Alexandra Burke's X Factor winning song has been voted into a list of the worst-ever cover versions. 'Hallelujah', which was originally written and recorded by Leonard Cohen, was named the 10th worst cover in a poll by Churchill Insurance. Despite selling over a million copies and becoming the top-selling song of 2008, Burke's version of the song has met with some criticism. William Shatner's interpretation of The Beatles' 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' topped the list of the worst remakes, while Britney Spears came second with 'I Love Rock 'N' Roll'.
