I'll say one thing for the show's writers: They picked the perfect title for Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Season 1 Episode 4.
The deaths have just about slowed to a complete stop in the latest episode, with Bloody Rose seemingly intent on tormenting and torturing the girls with the subtle tactic of spamming their phones.
With the moms' complete and total absence, it's safe to say that Pretty Little Liars: Summer School will revolve solely around the girls and their misdeeds.
If that is the case, it would appear that the killer this season may not have any ties to the girls or the Waters family.
Mere hours after Mouse got attacked by a homicidal maniac, we left word for Sullivan, and then she got into an accident. No, not suspicious at all.

Every teenage girl looks forward to their sixteenth birthday, but in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Season 1 Episode 3, it's less of a rite of passage and more of a matter of life or death.
While this season of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School has definitely kicked things up a notch, the series isn't skimping on the teen angst and what it means to be a girl in high school, even if it's just summer school.
At least the one good thing they have working in their favor is that they seem to rarely be entirely by themselves. It's a horror trope that, thankfully, has been axed since the previous season.
As the show becomes fully immersed in summer, the story shifts focus from violent slayings to real teenage problems, like cute boys. If only someone had told them that the problem never truly goes away.
Although Noa's case might be slightly different,...

Millwood’s final girls may have survived being chased by a masked serial killer (so far), but they’re totally unprepared to face their biggest nightmare yet: summer school. Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, which premieres May 9 on Max, picks up directly after the events of the previous season, which was titled Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. Created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, the teen drama’s latest installment follows Imogen (Bailee Madison), Tabby (Chandler Kinney), Faran (Zaria), Mouse (Malia Pyles), and Noa (Maia Reficco) as they tackle summer school, summer jobs, and summer flings, all while being terrorized by a terrifying new villain who may or may not be linked to “A.”...

The slasher-themed relaunch of “Pretty Little Liars” from series creators/writers/executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) and Lindsay Calhoon Bring (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) is back with the brand new season “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School,“ plunging the final girls into a summer of horror.
“Summer School“ begins Today (May 9), only on Max.
After surviving last season’s Millwood massacre and unmasking “A,“ Mouse (Malia Pyles), Noa (Maia Reficco), Faran (Zaria), Imogen (Bailee Madison) and Tabby (Chandler Kinney) are back to process their trauma and get on with their lives. Except they’ll be forced to take on summer school. When a mysterious new villain emerges, summer school won’t be the only thing derailing the girls’ plans for summer fun and romance (read our review).

Things are looking a lot less pretty and a little more dangerous for the liars in the season premiere of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
Picking up right where things left off, Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Season 1 Episode 1 starts with four murders within the first five minutes.
Aptly titled "Loose Ends," that's exactly what's taken care of. If the trend continues like a Scream movie, audiences may see each new season commence with a kill scene.
Sheriff Beasley, Chip, Madame Giry, Steve, and the drug dealer to Noa's mom all met a grizzly end right at the start, wiping the slate clean for a new killer to cut some fresh flesh.
On top of everything the girls went through, now they have to spend their summer attending school or otherwise face repeating the 10th grade. A fate worse than death.
The girls also seem to each have...

Summer school begins early this year.
No, you won’t be challenged with tests or catching and marking grasshoppers, but you will feel forced to sit through class nonetheless when the next generation of Pretty Little Liars returns with their own type of Summer School.
This season discusses the classic movie trope with which Pretty Little Liars has become synonymous — the final girl.
TV Fanatic had the opportunity to get in front of the cast and creators for a little Q&a, and they did the best they could to entertain and tease without spoiling too much — just as we like it.
We first spoke to the group that not only has answers but who makes the decisions. Creators Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring were joined by Pll mom Sharon Leal.

When I previously wrote my review of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, I mentioned that I was optimistic for the series to be renewed for another season, but questioned how the showrunners would be able to introduce a fresh batch of conflicts for our Millwood liars to tackle. After all, “A” had been apprehended! The main characters seemed to have found closure, and the future seemed bright and unobstructed for each of them.
And then came the summer. Summer School, that is.
As expected in any iteration of Pretty Little Liars, a new A has emerged to torment our five final girls who are stuck in Millwood attending summer school; this time in the form of Bloody Rose–a crimson soaked, knife brandishing antagonist that I would argue is much scarier than our season 1 stalker, Archie Waters. As things heat up with Bloody Rose, the summer brings a slew of...

What’s worse than a serial killer stalking you?
Summer school. At least, that’s what the liars believe in the official trailer for Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
At the beginning of the freshly released footage, the liars—Bailee Madison (Imogen), Chandler Kinney (Tabby), Zaria (Faran), Malia Pyles (Mouse), Maia Reficco (Noa), and Mallory Bechtel (Kelly) — learn that running away from a serial killer hindered their grades.
As a result, they have to attend summer school to help brighten their prospects.
For the teenagers who want to spend their summer relaxing and having fun, it’s the worst news ever.
Original star Annabeth Gish is returning as Dr. Anne Sullivan, the therapist who helped the original crop of liars through the trauma they endured being stalked by A.

Get ready, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin fans – the finale is here and it’s a creepy wild ride. Season one episode 10 – “Final Girls” – starts off back on December 31, 1999 at the Waters’ house. Rose Waters (Jeanette Bonner) takes a page from the mom in Carrie and is upset with Angela (Gabriella Pizzolo), pointing out her makeup and how she’s showing off her body. Rose blames her daughter for being raped, claiming she invited it.
Angela, rightfully, tells her mother it’s not her fault. Rose tells her not to go to the party but Angela storms out.
Present day, December 14th: Faran (Zaria) is happy her dad’s been released from jail, and Zeke (Benton Greene) confirms he believes this was a warning from Sheriff Beasley.

Faran (Zaria) wants to forward the photo to the cops but Tabby thinks since A sent it to them, he’d know how the cops got it. The first five blood soaked episodes of “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” left big shoes for its latter half to fill. While episodes 1-5 were filled with flashbacks galore, character introductions, and a trail of corpses in A’s wake, episodes 6-10 plants us much more in the present, with explorations of the conflicts facing both the liars and their parents, and a deeper dive into the investigation of A. While the back half of “Original Sin” improves upon some of its preceding episodes’ shortcomings, it was also inflicted with the slasher curse of not quite sticking the landing. While the revelations are shocking, it stretches reality a bit too far at times to tie up all of its loose ends, leading to an ending that feels a bit rushed.
With all that said, beware of major spoilers below!
Starting with the positives, “Original Sin’s” back half is where its characters shine the most.

Now that the first season has ended, it's safe to say "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" is a worthy "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff. It's filled with compelling new characters, twisty plot lines, and tons of killer slasher references, so we're obsessed, to say the least. Since most of the first season's mysteries were wrapped up in the finale episode, there's only one major question remaining: will we get a season two? Read on for everything we know about a possible second season for "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin."
How Does "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" Season 1 End?
At the end of season one, it's revealed that "A" is the brainchild of Principal Clanton (Robert Stanton), Angela Waters's (Gabriella Pizzolo) secret father, and that the masked "A" killer is Archie, Angela's brother. HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin season one episode seven opens with Elodie (Lea Salonga) receiving her first communication from A. It’s a flyer for the Millwood Carnival in 1999 and on the back, it reads: “Meet me in the hall of mirrors.”
A flashback shows Elodie (Emily Bautista) and Angela (Gabriella Pizzolo) running through the hall of mirrors. They begin to kiss and Davie (Ava DeMary) catches them. Elodie backs away and asks Angela what she’s doing, adding, “Did you see that, Davie? How she attacked me?”

Now, that's how you do a season finale.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 could be considered a closed-ending story because the final three episodes truly delivered answers, shocks, and badass moments.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 8, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 9, and Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 10 will go down as the best hours in the history of the franchise.
While the original series was far more about the A reveals, the latest entry has been more about the struggles of the liars as they navigate a world that hasn't been good to them.
It has set the series apart from the others in the franchise, offering a fresh perspective, as opposed to the only mystery surrounding the identity of A.

Warning: This post contains spoilers for the HBO Max series “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.”
Mallory Bechtel pulled double duty for HBO Max’s “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” playing twins Karen and Kelly Beasley. While Karen died in Episode 2, the rest of the season toyed with whether Kelly was really the twin who was still alive, or if it was Karen all along. For Bechtel, this meant adding nuances to her acting performance to differentiate between the twins, even as Kelly began to act like her sister as a way to cope with the trauma of losing her.
Before her death, Karen was considered Millwood High School’s resident mean girl, and Kelly was almost always willing to back her sister up. This created some natural tension between the twins and the five Liars of the HBO Max series, which continued even after Karen died. But as they all waded through their rocky relationship,...

“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” is a much more horror-centric take on Sara Shepard’s young adult novels about a group of teenage girls who are being stalked by an anonymous assailant.
While the teen slasher series contains plenty of callbacks to the original series, there are also a ton of winks to classic horror films that make the series that much more eerie — from strikingly obvious references like “Carrie” to more subtle references like “The Shining.”
“We’re such die hard horror fans,” co-creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told TheWrap. “I think that’s part of the fun of this show is getting to play with those tropes and doing new versions of those scenes.”

“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” keeps throwing wrenches into the guessing game of whether or not it was really Karen (Mallory Bechtel) who fell from the rafters at the school dance or if it may have actually been her twin sister, Kelly.
“Kelly” has been giving off some suspicious vibes, and Faran (played by Zaria) has been hot on the case. At the Halloween party in Episode 5, the two went toe-to-toe in the kitchen, where Faran confronted Kelly over kissing her dead sister’s boyfriend, Greg. For Faran, the confrontation was the nail in the coffin to convince her that Karen is, in fact, still alive. But is she correct?
Episodes 6 and 7, which dropped on HBO Max Thursday, do not give a much clearer answer as to whether or not Faran’s suspicions will be proven correct. And it turns out, even the actors didn’t know at the time...

Update: Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin fans who were worried about the promo for the final three episodes that called it “the series finale” can breathe a sigh of relief — for now. It turns out that was an error, with the promo, at 12:10 p.m. Et no longer attached to the end of Episode 7. With the series’ future still up in the air ahead of the finale, all we can do is wait to find out if there will be a second season — and at least be glad we know we’ll be finding out who A is and why the girls have been targeted. Original story: The good news: We know we’ll find out A’s identity and why the villain is after Imogen (Bailee Madison), Tabby (Chandler Kinney), Faran (Zaria), Noa (Maia Reficco), and Mouse (Malia Pyles) in the August 18 finale of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.

Update: The words “series finale” in a promo for next week’s batch of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin episodes had everyone — including Team TVLine — wondering if this was really the end of the road for Imogen and her fellow PLLs.
But TVLine has learned that the use of “series finale” was merely a copy error, and the finale is only being considered the end of Season 1. No decision has been made about future seasons of the HBO Max drama.

"Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" and "Stranger Things" may not immediately strike you as two shows that have a ton in common, but they're actually a lot alike. Both center on a crew of close teenage friends running around their small town trying to bring down a mysterious killer. Sure, the HBO Max reboot's villain isn't a monster, but that doesn't mean they're any less scary or deadly than a Demogorgon.
Add one more similarity to the list of things the two shows share, because a beloved "Stranger Things" character plays a key role in "Pll: Original Sin." Gabriella Pizzolo - who plays Dustin's (Gaten Matarazzo) tech-y, long-distance girlfriend, Suzie, in seasons three and four of the Netflix sci-fi show - is the actress portraying Angela Waters in "Pll: Original Sin." Much like Suzie, Pizzolo's "Pll: Original Sin" character doesn't appear on screen all that often,...

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Episodes 4 and 5 of “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.”
“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” wouldn’t be a horror show without without scaring up a Halloween storyline, and the series did just that with a classic costume party that ended in bloodshed at the end of Episode 5.
The latest two episodes, which dropped on HBO Max last Thursday, kicked the series into high gear as audiences got a taste of how the girls are going to have to confront their own traumas while also unraveling the mystery of A — who appears to be getting more murderous by the day.
The show left off on a haunting note with another murder in Millwood, and the girls (and audience) were once again left with quite a few more questions than answers. Lucky for us, creators Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring sat down with TheWrap to discuss...

The "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" Cast Is Terrified of the New "A": "There's No Human Remorse"
Image Source: YouTube user HBO Max
A new "A" is terrorizing a fresh group of liars in "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin." Starring Bailee Madison (Imogen), Malia Pyles (Minnie), Maia Reficco (Noa), Chandler Kinney (Tabby), and Zaria (Faran), the forthcoming HBO Max show takes place miles away from Rosewood in another fictional Pennsylvania hamlet and comes years after a "series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart."
"It's not really a continuation of any story or specific character, it's a complete re-imagination of the existing universe," Reficco tells Popsugar, referring to the original "Pretty Little Liars" Freeform series, which ended in 2017. "It also lives in a slasher horror world, which therefore just completely changes the whole look and feel . . . it has its own DNA."
Even though the series stands on its own, Madison assures it "has all the same elements that were so addicting about the original.

There's a new group of Pretty Little Liars in town. Five years after the Freeform series came to an end, "Pretty Little Liars" is being revived by HBO Max with a brand new cast. Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, the series, which is titled "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin," promises more suspense and horror than the original.
"We're such huge fans of what I. Marlene King and her iconic cast created, we knew that we had to treat the original series as #canon and do something different," Aguirre-Sacasa and Calhoon Bring said in a joint statement, per Deadline. "So we're leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honor what the fans loved about the hit series, while weaving in new, unexpected elements." "Roberto and Lindsay are expanding the 'Pretty Little Liars' universe with more murder, mysteries, and scandal, and we can't wait,...

A new generation of liars are up to no good in the first trailer for “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” premiering this summer on HBO Max.
A sequel to the popular 2010 ABC Family/Freeform teen drama “Pretty Little Liars” — based on Sara Shepard’s book series of the same name — “Original Sin” follows the chronology of the original show, which ran for seven seasons and 160 episodes, but focuses on a completely new set of teenagers in a new town
Bailee Madison, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Chandler Kinney and Zaria play the five main characters: Imogen, Minnie, Noa, Tabby and Faran, a group of friends tormented by “A” — an anonymous identity assumed by villains in the original series. Whereas the As from the original show harassed the girls with their personal secrets, this A is going after the friend group for the mistakes their mothers committed while they were in high school.

A is officially back. In the new teaser for HBO Max's Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, released June 15, a hooded figure takes their sweet time burning and ripping up photos of high school clique Imogen (Bailee Madison) Minnie (Malia Pyles), Noa (Maia Reficco), Tabby (Chandler Kinney), Faran (Zaria) and Karen (Mallory Bechtel). As the mysterious menace destroys the pics, a scary piano version of the Pretty Little Liars theme song plays in the background, sending chills down our back. If this teaser is any indication, the HBO Max spin-off is going to be a terrifying watch. And with Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa leading the series, there's no doubt that there will be some...
