Tribeca and Chanel have sights set on the next installment of their collaboration, Through Her Lens.
Founded in 2015 by Tribeca and Chanel and in collaboration with Pulse Films, the mentorship program provides industry support, artistic development and funding to emerging U.S.-based self-identifying women and nonbinary writers and directors while also hosting finalists, industry jurors and mentors for in-person events, workshops, classes and peer-to-peer sessions.
The partners today announced the names of its 2022 leadership committee. It’s comprised of jurors, mentors and masterclass participants. Jury members include actor and director Jennifer Morrison, producer Bonnie Hammer, actor Alexandra Shipp, producer Paula Weinstein and actor Thuso Mbedu.

AMC’s groundbreaking thriller Dark Winds is headed for a second season. The well-reviewed show features a team composed almost entirely of Native Americans in front of and behind the camera. From the top down, it was important to the creators to raise visibility across the board, from the writer’s room to the cast, directors and crew, and on screen.
Based on Tony Hillerman’s mystery novels, the series follows Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), a lieutenant with the Navajo tribal police, as he works alongside a brand new deputy, Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon).

IllumiNative, The Black List and Sundance Institute today revealed the finalists for their 2022 Indigenous List, which represent the best and most promising Native creatives in the film and television industry. See the list below.
The Indigenous List was launched in 2020 to provide a platform for Indigenous writers to showcase their scripts, create additional pathways and opportunities within the industry, and support the development of the next generation of screenwriters.
This year’s writers will have the opportunity to meet with four Indigenous creatives who have first-look and/or overall development deals at major studios, including Bird Runningwater (Cheyenne); actor-director Michael Greyeyes; Sierra Teller Ornelas, showrunner/co-creator of Rutherford Falls; and Sterlin Harjo, showrunner/co-creator of Reservation Dogs.
