Rajjat A. Barjatya
Rajjat A. Barjatya was MD and CEO of Rajshri Media, a digital entertainment and new media arm of Rajshri Group. He is credited for turning around Rajshri Productions', one of the pillars of the Hindi film establishment, digital fortunes with the creation of Rajshri.
Rajshri Productions Pvt. Ltd., established in 1947, produced several films that were critically acclaimed. The most popular films produced by the company include Dosti, Nadiya Ke Paar, Maine Pyar Kiya, and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. The production house's film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, grossed collections over INR 250 crore worldwide in its opening weekend, and used a digital-first strategy.
Rajjat Barjatya was cousin to Sooraj Barjatya, director of famous traditional family dramas like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. Rajshri Productions was founded by Sooraj and Rajjat's grandfather Tarachand Barjatya.
In 2009, Rajshri.com's YouTube channel became the most viewed video channel in India with 10.2 crore video views back then. Besides YouTube, Rajjat Barjayta is credited with tying up with close to 100 of the world's leading digital video platforms, with around 20,000 hours of content in Rajshri's digital library and over 200 minutes of short-form content created in-house for web and mobile platforms daily.
