After a failed attempt to launch a franchise in 2006, Eragon has another shot at an on-screen adaptation with a TV series coming to Disney+.
“An Eragon live-action TV show is currently in development for Disney+. According to Variety, the upcoming Eragon series will adapt the popular fantasy novels, The Inheritance Cycle, by author Christopher Paolini. Eragon is the first novel in the series, forming a basis for the new show. Of course, it’s not the first time Eragon has been adapted. A live-action Eragon film debuted in 2006 but was critically panned. The film starred Ed Speleers as Eragon, Rachel Weisz as Saphira, Jeremy Irons as Brom, and John Malkovich as Galbatorix.”

The classic young adult novel Eragon might be coming to Disney+: The streamer is in the early stages of developing a TV series based on the Inheritance Cycle books by Christopher Paolini, our sister Variety reports.
Eragon is the first installment in the four-part novel series, which tells the story of a farm boy named Eragon, who discovers a dragon egg. When King Galbatorix finds out about the egg, he sends his servants to acquire it, forcing Eragon and the dragon Saphira to flee their hometown with a storyteller named Brom, who is part of an extinct group called the Dragon Riders.

An “Eragon” live-action TV series is in early development at Disney+, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.
The series would be based on the Christopher Paolini young adult novel series “The Inheritance Cycle,” with “Eragon” being the first of the four books in that series.
According to sources, Paolini will serve as co-writer on the series. Bert Salke will executive produce under his Co-Lab 21 banner, with 20th Television producing. Salke is currently under an overall deal with Disney Television Studios, of which 20th TV is a part.
Reps for Disney and Paolini did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.

Two weeks from now Sdcc 2013 will be winding down, so are there enough horror offerings to entice attendees back to the show for Day 4 (July 21)? With "Supernatural" kicking things off bright and early, we say, "Yes!"
Also on the schedule for Sunday (traditionally the family-themed day of the event) are "Under the Dome," an update on the adaptation of George R.R. Martin's werewolf/Pi/serial killer mashup novella The Skin Trade, a chance to build your own monster, surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, a Neil Gaiman Spotlight panel, a look at what's coming from Diamond Select Toys, a how-to on creating suspenseful, exciting, anxiety-inducing stories, and per usual, a screening of "Buffy the Musical: Once More with Feeling" to close things out.
Since the horror offerings are so light, we've expanded our Day 4 highlights list to cover such topics as the future of sci-fi novels, the 50th anniversary of "Doctor Who,...
