This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
At the end of the Star Trek: Discovery season five premiere “Red Directive,” Dr. Kovich finally levels with Captain Burnham. The mission that she and her crew had been on throughout the episode has escalated beyond even Admiral Vance’s clearance, to a level that only someone as deep within the Federation as Kovich can understand.
The mission involves the Progenitors, the source of all humanoid life in the universe. “A few thousand years ago, we’d have found them gods,” says Kovich. But to long-time Trekkies, the Progenitors are also the topic of a remarkable episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
As much as we all love Star Trek and its wild world of alien races, the fact remains that the large majority of those aliens are just regular-looking humans with different bits of putty slapped on their foreheads. Romulans, Klingons,...

This Star Wars: Ahsoka article contains spoilers.
While Ahsoka features the return of many familiar Star Wars characters, the first two episodes have also introduced us to some intriguing newcomers, such as the mysterious former Imperial Inquisitor Marrok. All we know about Marrok so far is that he works alongside former Jedi Baylan Skoll and his apprentice Shin Hati as a mercenary for Lady Morgan Elsbeth and is aiding in their search for Grand Admiral Thrawn. But because of his mask, Marrok’s identity is a mystery that Star Wars fans are eager to solve.
That said, eagle-eyed fans think they’ve found the answer to who’s behind the mask. After spotting Sam Witwer’s name under “Additional Voices” in the credits for Ahsoka, the prevailing theory is that Marrok is actually the new canon version of Galen Marek aka Starkiller from the Force Unleashed video game series. While Witwer has voiced other characters,...

The conclusion of Star Wars Celebration 2023 ushered in a new era for the franchise with plenty of thrilling projects announced and highly-anticipated productions finally being previewed. Lucasfilm is finally taking some risks with its storytelling and is finally beginning to incorporate the Legends timeline as part of that.
The video game side of the Star Wars universe is expanding as well with Jedi: Survivor, Quantic Dreams’ Eclipse, and Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars project. The expansion of the Star Wars game universe is welcome, though it makes it easy to think back on the Star Wars games we’ve lost to the franchise’s canon reboot. Yet, one particular project remains notoriously absent from the canon despite its popularity: The Force Unleashed games from LucasArts.
The Force Unleashed, and its crucial protagonist, Galen Marek, could return to the current Star Wars continuity if the powers that be willed it to be so.

Gunsmoke actor Milburn Stone was among the show’s remarkably charming ensemble cast. Few performers ever played a role longer than he starred as Doc Adams. Over the course of Gunsmoke‘s record-setting run, Stone didn’t appear in a total of seven episodes. However, it wasn’t a decision of his own. Here’s a look at what happened to cause his absence.

Stone was first cast as Doc Adams along with the other original Gunsmoke actors. This also included James Arness as U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon, Amanda Blake as Miss Kitty Russell, and Dennis Weaver as Chester Goode. Similar to his co-stars, Stone took his Gunsmoke character and ran with it, giving him the name “Galen.” Additionally, he gave the character a greater degree of softness compared to the radio iteration.

Gunsmoke actor James Arness made his big break into fame thanks to the Western television show playing U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon. However, he gained more than a stable job with joining the cast; he joined a family. The Gunsmoke cast grew incredibly close, but they were shocked to discover a major surprise on the premiere episode that shocked them all when they watched it together.

Television shows and feature films aren’t always medically accurate, although such mistakes can destroy the illusion of reality when they’re far off from the real science. Gunsmoke actor Milburn Stone was bombarded with letters from real-life doctors in response to the medical information in the show. As a result, he decided to start learning medicine in his own time to start double-checking the scripts.

Stone played Doc Adams on Gunsmoke, but the character didn’t always have a first name. It took 16 years for the producers to finally want to settle on a name. Stone did such a wonderful job with the character that they gave him the honor of coming up with a name for him. He ultimately decided on the name “Galen,” which came from Claudius “Galen” Galenus.

One way out ... of this article, that is, for those who haven't watched the latest episode of "Andor." Spoilers abound!
Compared to the movie that "Andor" first originated from, the prequel/spin-off series sometimes runs the risk of appearing downright uneventful next to the epic heroism of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." While the standalone film depicted some of the biggest and most spectacular battles in "Star Wars" history, the action in "Andor" feels far more restrained and low-key. In fact, two of the show's most extravagant set pieces only appeared recently: last week's prison break and the unexpected dogfight that comes near the close of episode 11. Other than that, the Diego Luna-starring series has been content to carve out its own distinct niche amid this larger-than-life franchise, savoring the smallest details that most other stories would ignore completely and instead treating them with a deadly sense of seriousness.

Showtime is unveiling the trailer for The Lincoln Project, the upcoming docuseries that looks at the effort by GOP strategists to stop Donald Trump.
Directed by Fisher Stevens and Karim Amer, the project “goes behind the scenes of the meteoric rise and sudden rift” of the group, according to a rep for the project. The project shows the groups audacious efforts to defeat Trump, drawing his attention when he was in the White House, but it also features its members as they grapple with a sexual harassment scandal and internal breaks over its finances.
“Here’s the key: There’s nothing noble about us. But we’re useful,” Lincoln Project member Stuart Stevens says at one point in the trailer.
The Super Pac was formed in late 2019 by Stevens, George Conway, John Weaver, Rick Wilson, Jennifer Horn, Ron Steslow, Reed Galen and Mike Madrid. In January, 2021, The New York Times...
