- José Luis Chicote was born in Salamanca, Spain. He shows interested in music from a very early age, when he begins taking piano and violin lessons and becomes part of several pop-rock local bands. In 1990 he begins his professional career as a sound engineer in Radio Nacional de España, combining this with his work as a musician. At the same time he keeps studying piano, improvisation, composition and arrangements at the "Escuela de Música Creativa" in Madrid.
In 1994 he moves to Madrid and works for different media companies: first in the audio post production area and later as a composer for films, television and commercials. He continues his studies in counterpoint and orchestration.
In 2001 he composes the music for "Pantalones", awarded with a Goya for the best short film.
In 2004 he creates Round Sound, a music services company where he gathers together his knowledge and experience in both fields: music and sound, art and technique. Besides, he usually joins different jazz bands as a pianist, and he has recently done symphonic arrangements for the RTVE Orchestra, Andres Segovia Chamber Orchestra and the Bratislava Symphonic Orchestra.
