They’re not playing around on the new Quibi series Life-Size Toys. Nitro Circus, the daredevils behind such feats as a skyscraper-to-skyscraper backflip and the first backflip into the Grand Canyon, are teaming-up with Quibi for a new series that will transform favorite millennial toys into vehicles for stunts.
Hosted by Nitro Circus ringleader Travis Pastrana, Life-Size Toys will feature kids’ playthings super-sized by the Nitro Circus crew, then tested to the extreme by the stunt performers.
The sports entertainment brand has previously produced stunts like the world’s first motorcycle triple double backflip outside the U.K.’s iconic Caerphilly Castle (exceeding 10 million combined video views in just three weeks), as well as the first quadruple backflip on a BMX bike (over 15-million views on YouTube alone to date) and the first triple backflip on a motorbike (nearly 13-million YouTube views so far).
“At Nitro Circus, you’re never too old for toys.

The memorial service for Ryan Dunn last Wednesday was such an emotional event that his "Jackass" co-star Johnny Knoxville could barely get out the words to pay tribute to his friend and fellow daredevil, who died in a high-speed car crash last Monday.
"I walked to the podium and tried to share memories of my dear friend, but the words were just spinning in my head," wrote Knoxville in an emotional, touching blog post on the website of "Jackass" production company Dickhouse. "What came out were the mumblings of a man trying his best not to cry, and I wasn't even successful at that. I didn't break down, because...

MTV has greenlighted a slate of eight new "aspirational, enterprising and empowering" series for 2009 as part of a push to ramp up the network's original programming.
Among them are spinoffs of "Run's House" and "Rob & Big"; a show from Nick Lachey about performing arts students in Cincinnati; another from Johnny Knoxville starring a professional daredevil; and a series that goes behind the scenes at College¬Humor.com. Latest: Troubled Jackass star Steve-o has written a message to fans on his MySpace page from the psychiatric ward of a Los Angeles hospital.
The stuntman reveals pals including former Jackass co-star Johnny Knoxville "physically forced" him to seek help for his mental issues, including bipolar disorder that had left him suffering "high highs and extremely low lows".
After being taken to L.A.'s Thalian Mental Health Center, Steve-o was transferred to the Ceder's-Sinai Medical Center, where he has been placed on a 14-day hold, while medics observe his condition and behaviour.
In his blog - entitled You Should All Know I'm In The Looney Bin - Steve-o blames his condition on the lasting side effects of years of abusing drugs. He also apologises for the damage his behaviour has caused to loved ones.
The 33-year-old writes, "'Before the day when Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, Big Regg, Swizz, Rick Kosick, Dimitry Elyaschevich, Cordell Mansfield, and Trip Taylor came to my home and, physically, forced me into the hospital, I had thought of 'bipolar' as a 'good' thing. I rationally deduced that, with our time in this life being so limited, it was productive to stick to nothing but extremely high 'highs', and extremely low 'lows.'
"I figured that, since I am an extraordinarily 'tough' individual, I could handle it.
"After four days in a psychiatric ward... I am no longer '5150-status' (which was the three-day 'hold' on me, resulting from suicidal behaviour). I am now '5250-status' (which means that the 'hold' has been extended to 14 days, for the exact same reasons).
"I'm not getting out of this 'insane asylum' any time in the immediate future, so, I'm going to learn as much from the experience as possible. So far, I've figured
out that I did a great deal of damage to my brain by abusing drugs and, now that they've all worn off, I'm facing the consequences."...

It didn't seem possible, but Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man and company might just have cooked up a sequel that's even wilder, funnier, extra-depraved and more gag-inducing than the seemingly incomparable "Jackass the Movie".
But whether or not it goes down in cinema history as "The Godfather: Part II" of self-mutilation documentaries, "Jackass Number Two" -- aptly named given an even greater obsession with bodily fluids -- ensures that the screams of laughter come fast and furious in this frat boy's fever dream of a circus sideshow.
While the uninitiated should probably keep their distance -- this one's definitely goosing the boundaries of its R rating -- the appreciative fan base that helped make the original one of Paramount's most profitable pictures of 2002 is certain to put a big smile on Sumner Redstone's face when the opening weekend figures start pouring in.
Granted, nothing quite matches the inspired novelty of the repeated downing of those giant mounds of wasabi or the totaled rental car return that were among the highlights of the first, too-hot-for-TV, big-screen edition, but director Jeff Tremaine and his resident Jackasses have kept the overall consistency of the bits higher, while pushing it all along at an appropriately breakneck pace.
Again, raging bulls, slithering reptiles, scary inanimate objects and High Voltage meet up with dangling personal extremities to outrageous effect, but even as one wonders if they might have crossed over a line (or two) during, say, a sequence involving the "milking" of a primed stallion, resisting laughter remains futile.
Here as before the secret to their surprising cross-gender appeal is that Knoxville and the boys like to keep their gleefully juvenile pranks all in the family. Most of the time, the ones being punk'd are part of the Jackass inner circle, and despite all the nasty welts and burns and expulsion of various forms of matter, there's seldom an overt meanness to their antics or even a whiff of the pervasive sexism, racism or homophobia that have become part and parcel of the usual shock comedy experience.
Also coming back for more are Tony Hawk, Rip Taylor and Bam's hapless mom and dad. Directors John Waters and Spike Jonze, who's one of the producers, also join in on the fun, with Jonze donning a pair of perilously pendulous prosthetics to play a very old lady with an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.
There's even enough money left in the budget for a big closing number that pays homage to bigger-than-life movie musicals; it doesn't really deliver the anticipated goods but nevertheless gives rise to the notion of an all-Jackass Oscar ceremony.
It would be worth it just for the gift bags.
