Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Jonathan Pine in two further series of The Night Manager, based on characters created by John Le Carre.
Back in 2018, The Night Manager was a huge hit for the BBC, winning 36 awards including two Emmys, a BAFTA and several Golden Globes.
Adapted from the 1993 novel by John Le Carre, the show followed Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston), the night manager of a high class hotel in Cairo, who is recruited by Angela Burr (Olivia Colman), the manager of a Foreign Office task force, to infiltrate the inner circle of sinister arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie).
It was a glossy, big budget production, and writer David Farr expertly crafted Le Carre’s twisty plot into six exhilarating hours of drama.

Fans of The Night Manager, your patience is being rewarded in a major way. When the Tom Hiddleston-starring miniseries adaptation of John Le Carré’s espionage novel hit screens in early 2016, it quickly became a huge mainstream hit – thrilling viewers with its twists and turns, cementing Hiddleston’s on-screen cool factor, and providing another great screen version of Le Carré to sit alongside Tinker Tailor and A Most Wanted Man. But, understandably, people wanted more – and there was considerable chatter about whether there may or may not be more series on the way. Ultimately, nothing ever came to fruition.
Until now. As reported by Deadline, all these years later The Night Manager will indeed be back – and the show is confirmed for not one but two more seasons at least, with Tom Hiddleston returning to star as Jonathan Pine as well as executive-producing. Season 2 is set to film later this year,...

As the therapist in filmmaker Charlotte Hamblin’s quirky, offbeat dark comedy Everybody Dies…Sometimes tells us, that the only inevitability in life is death. A stark and not so comforting fact for the film’s protagonist Mara, who is struggling with the long-held belief, well supported by her tragic history, that she’ll cause the demise of anyone she gets close to. Everybody Dies…Sometimes is an oddly joyous and buoyant take on that existential doom we all face, which flashes through a series of truly funny fatal scenarios experienced by those prematurely taken from Mara’s life. Writer/Director Hamblin draws from her own lamentable over-familiarity with death in this semi-autobiographical directorial debut in which the established screenwriter’s script, coupled with Tanya Reynolds’ (Sex Education) and Mathew Horne’s (Gavin & Stacey) perfectly deadpan delivery and the film’s colourful visuals, turn the spectre of death into something to poke fun at.

The Night Manager, the famous spy thriller novel, has so far had two adaptations. The British show, adapted for the screen by David Farr and directed by Sussane Bier, took the audience through the world of arms deals, civil unrest, and the politics of the Middle East and North Africa and how British intelligence was indirectly involved in them. In the Hindi adaptation, created by Sandeep Modi and written by Shridhar Raghavan, the setting was altered to reflect the politics of the Indian sub-continent and how intelligence messes with the domestic matters of neighboring countries for the national interest.
What makes both shows similar and unique is the treatment of the spy thriller, where a regular hotel employee or ex-military officer turns into an intelligence agent for his country. The protagonist wants to bring down the man who is responsible for the murder of a woman he was trying to...

It has been seven years since Tom Hiddleston starred as soldier-turned-hotel-manager-turned intelligence asset Jonathan Pine in John le Carré adaptation The Night Manager. He's finally headed back to that role in a new season of the show.
Yes, in the increasing trend of limited series getting new seasons, David Farr is back writing a new season, which will be a co-production of the BBC and Amazon this time (the first run was a collaboration between the Beeb and AMC in the States).
As for the story? Following British arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) being taken away by the Syrians at the end of Season 1, Hiddleston’s Pine is informed he is dead two years later, and he has to face up to a new, even more deadly challenge.
This may even lead to a Season 3, but for now the second will shoot later this year in London and South Africa.

Indian actor Aditya Roy Kapur plays the titular lead in the Disney+ Hotstar Indian adaptation of “The Night Manager.”
Based on the 1993 espionage novel by British writer John le Carré, the series follows the night manager of a hotel who is recruited to infiltrate an arms dealer’s inner circle. It was previously adapted in 2016 by David Farr as a BBC/AMC series, with Tom Hiddleston playing the titular night manager and, as revealed by Variety, Anil Kapoor (“Jug Jugg Jeeyo”) as the arms dealer antagonist.
The Ink Factory, which was behind the 2016 adaptation, is also producing the Hindi-language Indian version alongside Banijay Asia. The creator of the Indian version is Sandeep Modi (“Aarya”). When Kapur was approached for the show, he was aware of the earlier production but had not watched it, something he rectified immediately.

The industry leaders, including Barbara Broccoli, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Edgar Wright, are calling for the UK government to “actively campaign to stop the violence used against the protesters in Iran, including an immediate stop to all executions” and “demand the release of all political prisoners in Iran.”
“Enough is enough. If the global community, which the UK is an active and influential member of, does not act firmly, these atrocities will continue,” the letter reads. “We need to sincerely support the people of Iran in their fight for justice and freedom.”

Warning: contains Major spoilers for The Midwich Cuckoos episodes 1-7
The majority of changes made by screenwriter David Farr to the source material for Sky’s new adaptation of The Midwich Cuckoos were tweaks rather than departures. In the seven-part series, Midwich is no longer a remote country village, but a commuter town within easy reach of London. Its lead character isn’t erudite author Gordon Zellaby, but child psychiatrist and single mother Dr Susannah Zellaby, played by Keeley Hawes. Book narrator Richard Gayford and his wife Janet are absent, replaced by new characters Zoe (Aisling Loftus), Sam and Dci Paul Haynes, played by Max Beesley.
Shifting the narrative perspective towards the story’s women reflects changes in gender politics between the 1950s and today. The same goes for the inclusion of a sequence in which the women of Midwich – mysteriously all pregnant at the same time following a town-wide...

Keeley Hawes and Max Beesley are back to bring a bit of drama and sci-fi entertainment in the first-ever TV adaptation of the John Wyndham novel. With the story having already been adapted for the big screen twice in ‘The Village of The Damned, creator and writer David Farr infuses a socially relevant update to an outdated story.
The series, which is set in the small English commuter town of Midwich, follows the town’s inhabitants after encountering a complete electrical blackout one night. Befalling a blackout which sees every resident fall unconsciously only to wake the following day with some of its female inhabitants having mysteriously fallen pregnant.
In the first major change Farr has made to the original story, Hawes plays the show’s protagonist, psychotherapist Dr Susannah Zellaby. Having been absent from the town on the night of the event, Zellerby returns to find her own vulnerable...

In John Wyndham’s The Midwich Cuckoos a remote village is inexplicably plunged into darkness and all the residents rendered unconscious. When they wake, all the women of childbearing age are suddenly pregnant. The children they give birth to are white haired aliens with powers of telepathy between each other. Talk about village of the damned (or rather perhaps don’t – creator David Farr likes the first half of the 1960 film version but not the second half and can’t stand the John Carpenter 1995 update).
This new version though, a seven part series for Sky, has updated Wyndham’s story and places a major focus on the differing relationships between parents and children (even when those children are aliens). Den of Geek sat down with Farr and episodes one and two director Alice Troughton to discuss attachment, body politics and that extraordinary birthing scene.

The Midwich Cuckoos
An exciting modern-day reimagining of John Wyndham’s science fiction classic starring Keeley Hawes and Max Beesley. Midwich is a quiet commuter town where nothing much happens. As the children of the phenomenon grow, it becomes clear they are not of this world.
The series is written by David Farr, Sasha Hails, Namsi Khan and Laura Lomas. Alice Troughton is the lead director, with Jennifer Perrott serving as director.

“Hanna” never really needed a big conspiracy. The pursuit of answers at the top of a global espionage food chain might have been a spark that lit the flame of both versions of the story, the 2011 film and the Prime Video series wrapping up with Season 3 this week. What has set Amazon’s TV version apart is its ability to sit with what happens to everyone who gets caught in a thorny thicket of high-level assassins.
Even at the show’s outset, when Hanna (Esmé Creed-Miles) was deep into the training that swallowed her entire childhood, the goal was more than survival. Season 2 of “Hanna” was the show’s greatest magic trick, giving Hanna the high school experience she never had at the secluded facility The Meadows, even if her classmates were all elite killers-in-the-making like she was.

“Hanna” will end with its upcoming third season at Amazon, Variety has confirmed.
The drama, based on the 2011 film of the same name, was renewed for Season 3 back in July 2020. The new season is scheduled to debut on Nov. 24.
The third season continues the journey of the titular young woman, played by Esmé Creed-Miles, who was created by the sinister organization Utrax and trained to be an assassin. Hanna is now secretly trying to destroy Utrax from the inside and free herself from its grasp with the help of her previous nemesis, former-CIA agent Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos). Together they have coerced high-ranking Utrax agent John Carmichael (Dermot Mulroney) into aiding their mission, but her fellow young assassins, Sandy (Áine Rose Daly) and Jules (Gianna Kiehl), as well as new foes, including former military man and intelligence operative, Gordon Evans (Ray Liotta), are starting to suspect Hanna’s plot.
