26 short genre films are heading to London at the end of the month - and we've got the full list here...
One of the many treats – well, 26 of the many treats – awaiting attendees of Horror Channel FrightFest in London at the end of the month is the short film showcase, that’s just been announced.
Across three days, 26 short genre movies will be screened, including 12 from the UK. Den Of Geek alumnus James Moran’s Blood Shed, starring Shaun Dooley, Sally Phillips and a garden shed, is screening. As is Katie Bonham’s Mab, Sean Healy’s Judgement and Stefano Nurro’s Hum.
The full line up is at the bottom of this post. Meanwhile, if you’re after tickets, Horror Channel FrightFest runs from 24th to the 28th of August in London. You can buy single tickets and passes here: http://www.frightfest.co.uk/tickets.

With twenty-six films over three days, including ten World, four European and seven UK premieres, Horror Channel FrightFest’s short film showcase unleashes this year’s eclectic mix of the bold, brave, bloody and barmy with films programmed to entertain, frighten, enlighten and simply amaze.

Green celebrities from around the world are cleaning out their closets and donating designer clothes and fashion accessory items to benefit Alder Hey, Europe’s busiest children’s hospital. The organization provides what they call, "family-focused care for around 250,000 young patients every year". The children;s hospital cares for more children than any other hospital in the UK. In order to reach out for donations from an international audience, the first stage of the fund raiser is going to be an online eBay charity auction. According to the charity notes, there will be items from star celebs that have influenced trends in fashion and style including Joan Collins, Dame Shirley Bassey, Dame Judi Dench, Dannii Minogue, and Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud. The online auction will lead up to the charity’s live “Clothes Throw” event, a gala being held at The Racquet Club in Liverpool, England on Friday 8th October.

X Factor favourites Alexandra Burke, Jedward, Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon and super stylish judge Dannii Minogue have given clothes to a charity auction which will benefit Alder Hey Imagine Appeal.
The X Factor outfits will be auctioned at the Clothes Throw event at The Racquet Club, Liverpool, this October. The Clothes Throw will be hosted by British designers Kirsty Doyle and Benna Harry who will give style talks on each of the items whilst they are modelled on the catwalk for guests to bid on.
X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has given a black Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier dress and judge Dannii Minogue has given a multi-coloured Orion dress which she wore on Gok’s Fashion Fix. This years X Factor is due to start on Saturday and last year’s X Factor finalists have all signed an Imagine Appeal t-shirt for the auction.

British fashion designer Kirsty Doyle is visiting Alder Hey’s cancer unit to put on a creative t-shirt making workshop and get a chance to meet patients who are interested in fashion.
Kirsty – who is a Patron of the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal – is bringing her big designers bag of fabric and materials to the hospital so she can spend the day with patients that will be fun, interesting and therapeutic and give advice to any budding fashion designers. Kirsty who came up with the workshop has her own successful label and shop felt it’s important to give something back.
