- After Alex worked on the movie "3 Kings," he got very sick and needed heart surgery. George Clooney, the lead actor on "3 Kings," donated money for Alex's surgery.
- Alex holds the distinction of directing a movie from the dead. Meaning, Alex directed his heart surgeon to shoot a movie of Alex's heart surgery, while Alex was on life support.
