A native Detroiter, Rick graduated from Southfield Senior High in 1985,
and then from the University of Michigan in 1990. He then moved to
Chicago where he performed at several prestigious theaters including
Chicago Dramatists Workshop, The Goodman Theatre, and Victory Gardens
Theater. Rick's father is a retired United Auto Workers (UAW)
executive, and his mother owns and operates Studio One, a photo
restoration company. Rick lives in Los Angeles, California.
Worthy has played five different characters in the Star Trek franchise, appearing in 14 episodes of the various spin-off series and in Star Trek: Insurrection (1998).
First TV appearance was breakdancing on the dance contest TV show,
"Dance Fever" in 1985. He and his brother Tim were billed as The
Floor Masters.
He was nominated for a 1995 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Revue for "The Colored Museum" at the Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago, Illinois.
