Dermot Mulroney, Anthony Welsh, Severine Howell-Meri, Cherelle Skeete, and newcomer Gianna Kiehl have joined the season 2 cast of Amazon’s Hanna, from NBCUniversal International Studios, Amazon Studios and Working Title Television. They join Esmé Creed-Miles, who returns for the second season in the title role of Hanna along with Mireille Enos, who reprises her role as CIA operative Marissa Wiegler. Filming for Season 2 is underway in the UK and France.
Written by David Farr (The Night Manager), who co-wrote the original film, Hanna is equal parts high-concept thriller and coming-of-age drama. It follows the journey of an extraordinary teenage girl, determined to escape from the grasp of the shadowy Utrax organization and its ruthless agenda. Farr will also direct episodes for the first time this season, along with French director Eva Husson and Icelandic director Ugla Hauksdóttir (Trapped).
Mulroney will play John Carmichael, a former mentor of Marissa’s (Enos) who has taken over the new chapter of the Utrax operation and is determined to see through its ruthless agenda. Welsh will portray the charming and calculated Leo Garner, who is part of the operations team at Utrax, responsible for indoctrinating the trainees. Skeete will play Terri Miller, an up and coming CIA officer who has been recruited to play a crucial role in cultivating the trainees. Howell-Meri will play Helen, and Kiehl will play Jules, joining a wolf pack of all-girl trainees, which includes returning actresses Yasmin Monet Prince as Clara and Áine Rose Daly as Sandy.
Hanna is produced by NBCUniversal International Studios, Working Title Television and Amazon Studios for Amazon Prime Video. Executive producers are Farr, Tom Coan for NBCUniversal International Studios and Andrew Woodhead, Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan for Working Title Television. Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios also serve as executive producers. Laura Hastings-Smith is series producer.

The 2011 film “Hanna” was a delicious surprise. Directed by prestige moviemaker Joe Wright, “Hanna” played like an artist’s frantic attempt to cram in all the wild impulses he wasn’t allowed elsewhere, while retaining a certain fundamental elegance. Saoirse Ronan played a teen trained from childhood to be a killing machine for reasons that never quite become clear. Engaged in cat-and-mouse warfare with Cate Blanchett’s compulsive CIA officer, Ronan’s Hanna sprinted through dazzlingly constructed frames as a propulsive techno score (composed by the Chemical Brothers) blared — and the movie never lost its balance or its control.
That filmic achievement, the ability to remain upright in the midst of mania, is what makes Amazon’s new series adaptation of “Hanna” so disappointing. The new show lacks the glimmering creativity of its source material, and, perversely enough, it manages to feel overstuffed despite its relative lack of inventive flourishes.

Amazon’s serial adaptation of the 2011 actioner, Hanna, will reunite The Killing stars Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos...
Hanna, the stylish 2011 action film which elevated the career of Saoirse Ronan, is set to be adapted as a TV series by Amazon. Interestingly enough, the series will also serve as a reunion platform for two of its announced main players in Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos, who co-starred on the 2011-2014 AMC-later-Netflix murder-mystery series, The Killing.
Amazon’s casting of Joel Kinnaman for Hanna represents a bit of a coup, since the actor’s stock is at its highest point, coming off the recent release of (streaming competitor) Netflix’s sci-fi series, Altered Carbon, on which he stars. However, Kinnaman’s onscreen reunion with his former The Killing police partner, Enos, will likely be an acrimonious one, since they will be depicted as mortal enemies, engaging...

Elaborate case study videos are the bane of a creative’s existence, but a necessary evil for entering award shows says the multi award-winning creative Andrew Woodhead.
The advertising case study has become a necessary but overbearing burden of the creative’s existence. For those unfamiliar, case studies generally involve an elaborately produced video that offers a snapshot or overview of a campaign. It is a mandatory piece for selling the idea to award shows. From Cannes to Award, there’s an ever-growing list of categories including integrated, PR, promo and activation, branded content, direct response and whatever category makes its debut in 2013 – innovative mobile consumer-generated promotional branded content, perhaps. But I digress.
A little over six years ago the handful of categories in existence merely demanded an A2 board with photographic evidence the campaign did in fact run, accompanied by a poignant description. The most time-consuming part of this...

U.K.'s broadcaster ITV has ordered a second season of "Law & Order: UK," the British version of Dick Wolf's long-running crime drama.
ITV picked up 13 additional episodes from "L&O: UK" starring Bradley Walsh, Jamie Bamber and Freema Agyeman.
The series, produced by Kudos Films and Television, Wolf Films and NBC Universal, premiered in February with a seven-episode run, which averaged 6.3 million viewers and a 25% audience.
The remaining six episodes of the show's first season will be aired at a later date, ITV said.
"This is a great day for the 'Law & Order brand," Wolf said. "On the heels of the original 'Law & Order' tying 'Gunsmoke's' all time drama series record of 20 years, and 'Law & Order: Svu's' renewal for Season 11, its wonderful to have pick ups on both sides of the Atlantic."
Wolf executive produces "L&O: UK" with Kudos' Jane Featherstone, Andrew Woodhead and Stephen Garrett.
