After a few weeks’ delay from its original February 20th release, Fool’s Theory and 11 bit studio have finally unleashed their dark fantasy RPG The Thaumaturge onto PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The isometric RPG, which blends a unique combination of history and fantasy, will also see releases on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series later this year.
The Thaumaturge “bypasses traditional genre elements”, and features side quests that seamlessly integrate with the main story. Taking place in 1905 Warsaw, players assume the role of Wiktor Szulski, who is drawn back to Warsaw by family matters. Wiktor also happens to have the gift of thaumaturgy. This turns out to be vital, as only a thaumaturge can tame the demonic entities known as Salutors, which feed on human flaws, but can also gift those who tame the Salutors with unique powers. After delaying their dark fantasy RPG The Thaumaturge from a December release, Fool’s Theory and 11 bit studio have announced that the game will be delayed again. Instead of a February 20th release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, The Thaumaturge will now arrive on March 4. As before, the PC release will be followed by releases on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series at a later date.
According to the developers, The Thaumaturge is complete. However, “taking February’s busy launch period into account and the opening for a better release window, we’ve decided to take this opportunity to give The Thaumaturge more breathing room so it receives the attention we believe it deserves.”
Fool’s Theory is correct in that the slate for February is a busy one. Alongside titles such as Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (which arrives today), players also have the upcoming remaster...

Based on Remigiusz Mróz’s novel series of the same name, the Netflix thriller Detective Forst centers around a murder investigator, Wiktor Forst, who sets out on his journey to unravel the mystery surrounding the interconnected murders taking place in the Tatra Mountain region of Poland. Previously, Forst used to work in a different location, but following an incident, he was suspended from his previous precinct and was transferred to Zakopane. Not only that, but the man had to serve his six-month prison sentence due to the offense, which was never explicitly mentioned in the series. Perhaps Forst had acted violently while interrogating a minor, which was the reason he was charged with criminal offenses. However, at Zakopane, upon his arrival, he had to look into a string of perplexing murders, which also reminded him of his most troubled childhood memories. Let’s discuss Wiktor Forst’s character journey and...

Fool’s Theory and 11 bit studio’s dark fantasy RPG The Thaumaturge has been hit with a delay for PC. Originally set for release next month, the Polish and Russian folk-inspired title will instead be released via Steam on February 20th, 2024. The announcement was made via The Thaumaturge‘s official X account.
Citing the need for additional time in development to “achieve the standards that players have come to expect” from the developer, the delay will be in order for the dev team to “add more polish and quality” to The Thaumaturge.

Cold War Cold War, 2.10am, Film4, Tuesday, July 5
Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski followed up on his Oscar-winning Ida with this beautifully crafted tale of doomed romance. Though the film lost out in its own Oscar race to the equally exquisitely shot Roma, it would have been just as worthy a winner. Inspired by his own parents' relationship, Pawlikowski charts the relationship between music director Wiktor (Tomasz Kot) and free-spirited singer Zula as they find themselves on different sides of the Iron Curtain. Shot with such immersive verve you feel as though you could melt into the Sixties, this is a masterpiece in a minor key.
Trainspotting, 11.25pm, Film4, Wednesday, July 6
Danny Boyle's films come at you at the gallop and this blackly comic drama is no exception, starting as it means to go on with Renton (Ewan McGregor) legging it up Princes Street. Adapted from Irvine Welsh's cult novel,...
