- (August 1, 2002) His two-character play "Bedbound" received its U.S. premiere in Taos, New Mexico, where it was produced by Sage Theatre Group for its Summer Festival of Contemporary Irish Plays. It was directed by Cecil O'Neal and featured Gary Houston as the Dad and Erin Neal as the Daughter.
- (January 2003) Directed "Bedbound" play he also wrote (Irish Repertory Theater, New York City, New York, USA).
- In 1997 he won the Stewart Parker Best Irish Playwright Award for 'Disco Pigs'.
- (2009 to 2010 season) His play, "The Walworth Farce," was performed in a Druid Theatre and Guthrie World Stage presentation production at the Walker Art Center's McGuire Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Joe Dowling was artistic director.
- (2018) Stage Play: "Grief is the Thing with Feathers" - adapted Max Porter's book for the stage and directed the play which premiered in March 2018 in Galway, Ireland, featuring Cillian Murphy as Dad.
- (2018 Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová and her musical, "Once" was performed at the Paramount Theatre in Chicago, Illinois with Tiffany Topol in the cast. Tom Vendafreddo was music director.
