With eight nods, Luke Combs is the most nominated artist at the 59th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The unveiling of this year’s nominations revealed that the musician is up for Song of the Year — presented to songwriters, publishers, and artists — for “Fast Car,” which also earns Tracy Chapman her first-ever ACM Awards nomination.
Trailing Combs with six nominations each are Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen. Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson each earned five nods, including Entertainer of the Year, while Jordan Davis and first-time nominee Jelly Roll racked up four.

Luke Combs is the man of the hour. The 59th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, April 9, and Combs came out on top with eight bids, including Entertainer of the Year. Check out the complete list of nominations here.
This is Combs’s fifth nomination in a row for Entertainer of the Year, an award he has yet to win. This year he’s up against Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen and lone female nominee Lainey Wilson. Women are consistently underrepresented in Entertainer of the Year, though Carrie Underwood won in 2020 (in a tie with Thomas Rhett) and Miranda Lambert finally prevailed in 2022. But we mustn’t underestimate Wilson here. She pulled off a huge upset at the CMA Awards last fall, claiming Entertainer of the Year despite being relatively new on the scene.

One of today’s big moves saw the finalisation of a deal for Wallace, an 18-year-old right-back moving from Fluminense to Chelsea. The Blues are loaning the Brazillian back to his former club until the end of the season. He went for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £5m. This deal – like many others that went through today – had been agreed in the last month or so, but could only be ratified once the window was open.
Staying in London, former Chelsea and Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini announced yesterday that he has agreed to end his 13-year stay in the Premier League and head to David Beckham’s old haunt, La Galaxy, on a free transfer.
The other big December mover to the Premier League was Daniel Carrico, a versatile midfielder and former captain of Sporting Lisbon. The 24-year-old – who also can play at centre-back – is...

Fresh off scoring the fastest-rising single of his career with "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)", Luke Bryan is gearing up to release a new album "Tailgates & Tanlines". The country music crooner is set to release the CD, where the hit single appears, across the United States on August 9.
"Country Girl" peaked at No. 7 on Billboard Country Songs chart and is climbing to No. 22 on Hot 100. If the single is any indication of what the rest of the album will hold, he might reach higher peak on the U.S. album chart. His previous peak was at No. 6 (via 2009's "Doin' My Thing").
''I feel like I continue to grow in my artistry and I hope that feeling never goes away. I think being out there on the road so much and seeing what the fans want make it much clearer for me to know what to give them," Luke...

2011 Cmt Music Awards - Country Girl (Shake It for Me) - Luke Bryan - Luke Bryan Videos
Luke Bryan was on hand at the 2011 Cmt Music Awards to perform his new hit "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" off his new album "Tailgates & Tanlines," which is due out Aug. 9, 2011. It will be Luke's third studio album since bursting onto the country scene in 2007.
"Country Girl" is his eleventh single in his career and we thought he pretty much rocked it at the Cmt Music Awards. The back up dancers weren't too shabby either. YOu can see Luke Bryan again on Cmt's "Crossroads" show June 24 with the Doobie Brothers. The two acts will perform hits including "Black Water," "Long Train Running," "Country Girl" and "Do I."
Luke is also the headliner of the 10th annual Cmt Tour with special guests Lee Brice and Josh Thompson. The tour kicks off in September with 25 shows around the country.
