Erwin Splettstößer was a taxi driver and enjoyed acting. In fact, Robert Siodmak gave the plump man, who would love to be a comedian, two more small roles in talkies, but his clear voice didn't quite fit his robust body.
Erwin Splettstößer who worked as a taxi driver, was hired in 1929 as an amateur actor for the film 'People on Sunday'. (Menschen am Sonntag).
Director Robert Siodmak also used him in his two subsequent feature films.
