SKY
- Composer
- Sound Department
SKY has been making music since birth; singing before he could talk,
playing drums at two, violin at three, with guitar, bass, and keyboards
following shortly thereafter. The son of jazz legend
Dick Hamilton and Broadway and TV
veteran Linda Dangcil (Chorus Line, West
Side Story, Peter Pan (1960),
The Flying Nun (1967)), SKY
grew up on the set and in the studio, quietly (!) learning as he
watched his parents work. By the time he was six, he was a series
regular on Villa Alegre (1973),
a bilingual PBS show, and was a studio session singer, working on
nearly every commercial which featured children singing as well as many
albums including Frank Sinatra,
Sergio Mendes,
Kim Carnes,
Pat Benatar and the "Annie" soundtrack. SKY
was also the first chair violinist for the California Meremblum
Symphony. Blending his classical training and studio skills, SKY has
written and produced music for films, ads, and promos since he was 17.
A short client list includes FOX, Telemundo, Disney, Warner Bros.,
Playboy, Paramount, MTV, Sony, UPN, Roland, and E!. Most recently, SKY
has been to New York and back, scoring and sound designing
Parallel Passage (2003), a film
by Mandi Riggi. Bringing together his love
for raving and Disneyland, SKY arranged, produced, and performed an
album of classic Disney songs remixed in various rave styles for Walt
Disney Records. SKY recently DJed for
Prince at Paisley Park, where he dropped
his new "Prince" remixes like a bomb on thousands of "Prince" fans at
Prince's Xenephobia Celebration. He has
also done many other remixes including "Baila" for Lui LaFe, which hit
number 2 in San Francisco, 3 in Boston, and number 1 in New York,
"Steal My Sunshine" for Len, which earned
SKY his first gold record, and "Jungle Bells", which was a bootleg
remix of Frank Sinatra SKY did with
Koolaid as a gag that achieved notoriety as the most requested song in
Groove Radio's history. SKY has also remixed
Will Smith,
Jennifer Lopez,
Madonna,
Destiny's Child,
Anastacia,
Ricky Martin,
Marilyn Manson,
Tatyana Ali,
Britney Spears,
Anita Ward and
Luis Enrique Roldán. But SKY's own
music has always been his passion. Well-known for his live
performances, SKY has headlined rave parties around the globe and is
preparing the release of his debut album "13" on Local Records.
