Cannes — Top European powerhouse Studiocanal has renewed its global deal with Nickelodeon which will board Season 3 of CG animated megahit “The Adventures of Paddington.”
Marking most surely one of the biggest single title content deals unveiled at this year’s Mipcom, the Nickelodeon renewal for Season 3 comes as Studiocanal has also unveiled a slew of second-window deals on Season 1 after the title’s hugely successful global rollout overseen, like Season 2, by Nickelodeon. It comes, moreover, just months after Studiocanal announced in June that Dougal Wilson is attached to direct “Paddington” 3, the third feature film in the franchise.
Together, the renewal, sales and new movie confirm “Paddington” as not only the biggest franchise at Studiocanal – at a time when the production-distribution-international sales giant is looking to expand its brand activity, says Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh – but as one of the most powerful in Europe.

Once again, the bear will be voiced by Ben Whishaw.
Paddington may not have gotten the big Oscar nom, but he's getting his own TV show! Following the much-deserved success of Paddington and Paddington 2, the iconic British children's book character is getting a prequel series.
According to Deadline, Nickelodeon, Studiocanal and producer David Heyman are teaming up on Paddington, a pre-schooler-targeted TV series based on the adventures of a younger Paddington. Ben Whishaw will be back to voice the CG-created character of Paddington.

No, the Paddington TV series will not be set in Darkest Peru (though that would have been cool), but will rather see the young bear living in Windsor Gardens, writing letters to his Aunt Lucy. Each episode will open and close with a different letter talking about what he has learned through his latest adventure.

Pack the freshest Marmalade sandwich you can find! Paddington bear is headed to television by way of StudioCanal and Nickelodeon. And best of all? Ben Whishaw is back in the voice booth.
Per Deadline, it’s understood this CG-animated series will follow the adventures of a younger Paddington bear in Peru – long before he was shipped off to the Big Smoke. Having been involved in StudioCanal’s feature films, Harry Potter producer David Heyman is also attached to the pre-schooler TV show, which is now beginning to make serious headway in production.
Adapted from Michael Bond’s Paddington Bear stories – ditto for those live-action movies – this animated series is in development from director Adam Shaw (Go Jetters), with Jon Foster and James Lamont on script duties.
Here’s a little taste of what’s to come:

Fox News offered readers comprehensive coverage of Kathy Griffin’s recent topless dancing tweet, crediting no fewer than seven reporters on a 272-word writeup of the comedian’s tweet.
That amounts to roughly 39 words per reporter, if divided evenly.
While Fox News’ Kathleen Joyce is the only name on the byline of “Kathy Griffin dances topless in video while ‘celebrating the Manafort and Cohen verdicts,” the piece also required the efforts of Samuel Chamberlain, Julius Young, Adam Shaw, John Roberts, Alex Pappas and Peter Doocy — all of whom are credited at the bottom as having “contributed to this report.”
