Netherlands-based sales outfit Dfw International has acquired Ruud Schuurman’s (“Lost in the Game”) romantic comedy “Taste of Love” ahead of the European Film Market.
“Taste of Love” stars Barbara Sloesen (“Life As It Should Be”) as Monica, who left her small village behind her and even changed her name to start a new life in Amsterdam. She’s now a renowned chef at a popular venue in Amsterdam. When she and her boyfriend want to open a new restaurant at a dream location, she is forced to return to her village where she comes across her first love. “Taste of Love” is produced by Tom de Mol Productions and Interstellar Pictures.
Sloesen recently headlined Schuurman’s 2020 comedy “Life As It Should Be,” which was a local B.O. hit and was acquired by Netflix.

The producer of Dick Maas' horror comedy Sint is taking a turn into very different territory with upcoming comedy The Masters but the results look as though they should prove every bit as successful as the earlier holiday splatter picture.The Masters pairs a quartet of Dutch comedians - keen eyed readers will recognize the lead of Max Parcelijn's Plan C in there - as men dealing (or not dealing) with middle age to varying degrees of success who ultimately decide to get their old hip hop band back together. Yes, this is familiar ground but director Ruud Schuurman appears to handle the material with style and the principal cast (Mimoun Oaissa, Ruben van der Meer, Willie Wartaal, Guido Pollemans) are all immensely likeable.Check out the...

A total of 34 film projects have received funding totaling €8.5m ($11.4m) from the budget of the new Netherlands Film Production Incentive.
It is anticipated that these projects will generate €47.9m ($64.6m) in Netherlands-based production expenditure.
Some 21 of the 34 successful applicants were international co-productions of feature films and documentaries, in which a Dutch producer has a majority or minority stake.
Productions include The Night Of A Thousand Hours by screenwriter/director Virgil Widrich, a co-production between Austria (Amour Fou Vienna), Luxembourg (Amour Fou Luxembourg) and The Netherlands (KeyFilm); The Lobster by director/screenwriter Yorgos Lanthimos, a co-production between Ireland (Element Pictures), France (Haut et Court), Greece (Faliro House), UK (Scarlet Films) and The Netherlands (Lemming Film); and...
