A couple months ago, we heard that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer by giving the film a 4K release, just like they did for its predecessor I Know What You Did Last Summer last year. Now we’ve learned that the unpopular trilogy capper I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) will also be getting a new release on the same day I Still Know reaches 4K (September 26th) – but this will be a Blu-ray release instead of 4K.
Directed by Sylvain White (who replaced Damon Santostefano two weeks before filming began) from a screenplay written by Michael D. Weiss, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer is about a group of small town teens who accidentally kill a fellow friend in a 4th of July prank.

GLAAD and the Black List unveiled the second annual GLAAD List, full of “the most promising unmade Lgbtq-inclusive film scripts,” Saturday evening at the Sundance Film Festival.
The Black List is an annual survey of Hollywood executives’ favorite unproduced screenplays, while the GLAAD List operates differently: Instead of relying on a survey, it is curated by GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer media advocacy organization. The organization evaluates potential films based on a list of standards including whether they fairly and accurately portrays the Lgbtq community and what each film’s potential impact is.

Exclusive: During Sundance, Jeremy Blacklow, Director of Entertainment Media at GLAAD and The Black List’s Kate Hagen revealed the second annual catalog for the GLAAD List which is a roster of the most promising unmade Lgbtq-inclusive film scripts.
From stories about Tennessee Williams to the bohemian ‘80s arts scene in NYC to a family fighting for survival as the world might be ending, the scripts on The GLAAD List represent the type of stories that GLAAD would like to see studios producing. With the proper attention, and with the collaboration of the right directors and actors, these scripts show tremendous promise and should one day become films that will both entertain audiences and change hearts and minds around the world.

The Cinderella model has been twisted to fit anything from sports films to basic dramas, and there’s never any guarantee whether the results will end up being good or even watchable. To that end, Warner Brothers has been chugging along with their A Cinderella Story series, which started with an original starring Hilary Duff and earned itself a theatrical release. Since then, Damon Santostefano has taken over at the helm and now the series only receives a direct-to-dvd debut as it continues to crank out stories taking advantage of each new generation of Disney songstress. Another Cinderella Story had Selena Gomez and now, with the most recent entry A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song, they’ve got Lucy Hale, one talented singer amongst a few in the film, and a final product that entertains the children and is actually watchable by parents. That’s a rare claim for straight-to-video kids’ movies nowadays.

Director Jonathan Mostow is no stranger to robots or science fiction, having directed Terminator 3: Rise Of The MacHines (and discussed it in Starlog #313). Now, he goes back to both with his new film, Surrogates.
“I love science fiction, which is why I responded so strongly to Surrogates,” Mostow says of the script based on Robert Venditti & Brett Weldele’s graphic novels.
“In the future, everyone stays home and your robot goes into the world for you,” he explains. “Bruce Willis never leaves his home. He’s paunchy and bald, while his robot surrogate is fit, blond and wears a great suit. The question the movie presents is: What price do we pay for surrendering to that technology?”
The filmmaker (pictured in blue shirt) is excited “to be talking to Starlog, because Starlog put me on my way. The first interview I ever gave was for [sister magazine] Cinemagic, when I won...
