“Station 19” is about to hit a huge milestone, but it’s bittersweet.
Just three days into production on Season 7 of the “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff, as plans for a celebratory 100th episode were beginning to develop, new showrunners Peter Paige and Zoanne Clack learned that the show had been canceled. Season 7 would be its last, tasking them with not only ushering the show into a new era, but also to a satisfying ending. They were not prepared.
“I was sitting on the floor in my underwear, writing,” Paige tells Variety. Clack adds, “I was on a panel in front of 100 people getting constant phone calls, trying to play it off. I didn’t hear what the actual news was until after the panel.”

Get ready for a gritty noir mystery thriller series set in Los Angeles created by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend) and directed by Fernando Meirelles (City of God). Apple TV+’s latest series titled Sugar is an original story and it follows the titular character Private Detective John Sugar, who goes to LA to find a missing girl named Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. As he digs deeper into the case he finds some secrets the Siegel family would have liked to keep buried.
While the critical reception of Sugar is not as good as I would have hoped, it is still an impressive series and worth your time. So, if you want to lose yourself in the dirty underbelly of LA with Pi John Sugar, here are the dates for the series’ upcoming episodes.

Plot: John Sugar is an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, he will also unearth Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others long-buried.
Review: Detective stories and noir films are iconic genres in film and literature. Who doesn’t love a grizzled private eye who saves the girl and beds the femme fatale? From The Maltese Falcon to Chinatown, detectives have a long and storied history on screen. With the new series Sugar, Colin Farrell adds another great character to the list. A suave, calm, and skilled investigator, John Sugar is an idealized hero straight off the silver screen. And, like any number of great cinematic detectives, he has a weakness. Having seen the full eight episodes of Sugar, audiences will love or hate John Sugar’s weakness,...

The sirens you hear on social media are the sounds of diehard Station 19 fans sounding the alarm over the cancellation of the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff.
The loud signal boosting ahead of what will be the seventh and final season of the firefighter drama comes after ABC on Dec. 8 announced that Station 19 will conclude with 10 episodes this year — the show’s shortest order since it debuted — like Grey’s — as a midseason replacement show when it launched in spring 2018.
With Station 19 and Grey’s serving as the only remaining shows on ABC produced by hitmaker Shonda Rhimes — who is now based exclusively at Netflix — why would the network ax one of its Thursday staples? The answer can be found in the math.
Station 19, which started off as a backdoor pilot in season 14 of Grey’s, finished the 2022-23 broadcast season as the No. 13 drama among the advertiser-coveted...

When will there be The Diplomat Season 2 on Netflix? and What could be the possible plotline of the Netflix series?
If we talk about the present world then all of you must agree with me when I am saying that it is very necessary to be a diplomatic individual to survive in this self-centred world. And those who are not must learn it from someone else and be the one because this is the world of diplomats.
Now you must be thinking about why we are talking so much about diplomacy and diplomats and you must be guessing right that we are going to talk about The Diplomat Season 2.
Dose of you who have seen the explosive and super entertaining season finale of this political thriller season 1 must have the feeling that not having its successive installment will be cruel to all of them.
So without making any further delays...

Season 7 of “Station 19” will be its last, Variety has confirmed.

A spinoff of “Grey’s Anatomy,” the drama follows a team of Seattle-based firefighters as they work together, build relationships, and navigate life’s ups and downs. The series aims to take viewers inside the close-knit community and oftentimes heartbreaking world of the city’s first responders.

Exclusive: The upcoming seventh season will be the last for ABC’s Station 19. The decision, early in production on the season, would allow producers to craft a proper ending for the first responder drama, a spinoff from the network’s flagship Grey’s Anatomy.
Before it signs off, Station 19 will hit the 100th episode mark in Season 7, which was impacted by the double Hollywood strikes. The series has aired 95 episodes to date; its seventh season will consist of 10 episodes.
Boosted by frequent Grey’s Anatomy crossovers, over the last few seasons, Station 19 established itself as ABC’s No.2 drama series behind Grey’s. Over its run, the series also has been lauded for tackling important — and sometimes difficult — topics and recently received a Sentinel Award from Hollywood, Health & Society for its depiction of systemic racism in Season 6.

Station 19 is set to hit its 100th episode in the 2023-24 season after ABC renewed the first-responders drama series for a seventh season.
The network also has confirmed that Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige will serve as showrunners and exec producers after Deadline revealed that Krista Vernoff was stepping down from Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy, with the pair likely to step up.
Over the past few years, the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff has been getting renewals alongside its mothership series. However, Grey’s was renewed for its 20th season last month, and Deadline understood that the holdup on Station 19 was the size of the order, which ABC has not revealed. Previous seasons have generally been 16-18 episodes.
Helping this renewal was the fact that the main cast have contracts that cover next season and beyond.

The Diplomat is a new political thriller series from Netflix that follows Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) as she becomes the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom during a time of international crisis. Used to working in war zones outside of the public eye, Kate has to adjust to her new role in the spotlight while forging new alliances and making sure her marriage to fellow diplomat and political star Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell) doesn’t suffer.
Though their characters may not always get along, the cast of The Diplomat is full of talented actors and familiar faces. Here are the actors bringing their talents to the series and where you’ve seen them before.

Kate Wyler is an experienced U.S. diplomat who is more comfortable negotiating in a war zone than from behind a desk. However, when the U.S. President asks her to become the U.

Finding a good show on Netflix can sometimes feel like a fishing expedition.
The sheer volume of content can make it difficult for something to stand out and command attention.
The Diplomat rises above the fray as an intelligent drama with a warm and witty feel and doesn't take its foot off the accelerator from the opening credits through the season's finale episode.
It's no surprise because creator and showrunner Debora Cahn is no stranger to political dramas.
Like The West Wing and Homeland before it, The Diplomat focuses on a particular government entity and dramatically brings it to life for viewers with its relatable characters and topical direction.

A surprising thing has happened over the last few weeks: The Night Agent became one of the 10 most-watched Netflix series of all time. This isn’t a knock on the spy-thriller, which features the usual solid craftsmanship of The Shield creator Shawn Ryan, a brisk pace, and some likable lead performances. But it’s also a show without big stars (even if supporting player Hong Chau is a recent Oscar nominee) or an attention-getting premise designed to spread word of mouth. It’s just… a well-made example of a very familiar TV genre,...

In a January interview with The New Yorker, Netflix executives referred to the company’s ideal programming as a “gourmet cheeseburger,” a partial intersection of quality and commerce that didn’t quite seem to align with most of the brand’s latest output.
After a somewhat fallow period, Netflix has had a strong recent run with The Night Agent (doubtlessly a cheeseburger, probably not gourmet) and Beef (doubtlessly gourmet, probably not a cheeseburger), but it’s the streamer’s new drama, The Diplomat, that comes closest to feeling like the elusive gourmet cheeseburger to me.
The Diplomat is easily accessible and quantifiable. It could be a spinoff from Homeland or Madam Secretary, and I can imagine a dozen networks and services where The Diplomat could feel on-brand.

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Diplomat, a new political drama premiering on April 20, 2023. The trailer introduces Keri Russell as a recently appointed ambassador who’s called in to stop a conflict in the Persian Gulf. However, the battle at home appears just as likely to explode into a full-blown war.
Series creator, showrunner, and executive producer Debora Cahn says the series is about transcendence and long-term relationships.
“It’s hard to keep a relationship going, be it a marriage or a military alliance. We change, the world changes, and yet we want these relationships to go on forever,” stated Cahn in a feature on Netflix’s Tudum. It’s a show about a bunch of good people doing their best to keep their global and personal partnerships intact without killing each other. Keri Russell is back as an American on foreign soil.
The “Americans” alum leads Netflix political drama “The Diplomat” as Kate Wyler, the new U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom. From showrunner Debora Cahn, “The Diplomat” is a high-stakes, contemporary political drama about the transcendence and torture of long-term relationships — between countries and people.
Per the official synopsis, Kate was supposed to go to Afghanistan. She’s great in a crisis zone. In a historic home…less so. War is brewing on one continent and boiling over on another. Kate will have to diffuse international crises, forge strategic alliances in London, and adjust to her new place in the spotlight — all while trying to survive her marriage to fellow career diplomat and political star Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell).
David Gyasi, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, and Ato Essandoh also star, with Celia Imrie, Michael McKean, Nana Mensah, T’Nia Miller, and Miguel Sandoval guest-starring.

If the pressure to diffuse international crises amid global threats and forge strategic alliances in London wasn’t enough, there’s another twist: Kate must stand her ground in the new spotlight as she attempts to escape the looming shadow of her husband and well-respected diplomat Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell).
As Kate learns to assert her dominance amid her husband’s storied career, telling her new advisors her tenure will be an “adjustment,” Kate and Hal differ on their approach to the emerging politician’s new position.

Anyone who watches HBO’s “Barry” knows one thing to be true. Pretty much everyone on the show behaves despicably with the exception of one person: NoHo Hank. That’s right; everyone’s favorite Chechen mobster, played by the invaluable Anthony Carrigan, has become the heart of television’s darkest comedy. So with the Emmy-winning series’s final season airing in this spring, let’s take a moment to ponder what is in store for the incessantly upbeat crime boss.
SEETeaser for Olivia Colman’s chilling ‘Great Expectations’ performance has Emmy written all over it [Watch]
First, a little refresher. The third season of “Barry” firmly established Hank as Barry’s (Bill Hader) conscience, odd considering that Hank has tried to kill Barry on more than one occasion. The world may seem like it's gone to hell in a handbasket these days, but one thing that's recently united society is the triumphant career revival of beloved actor Brendan Fraser, whose comeback is affectionately being hailed as "the Brenaissance."
Through the '90s and early aughts, Fraser blessed movie audiences worldwide with his magnetic onscreen presence, bringing his signature earnestness to a plethora of roles both comedic and dramatic, and cementing himself as a bonafide movie star who earned lots of money for the studios. However, after a series of unfortunate events, Fraser sadly dropped off Hollywood's A-list, and his career went painfully quiet. Thankfully, he's now back in full movie-star swing with his forthcoming critically-acclaimed turn in Darren Aronofsky's "The Whale." Fraser also recently appeared in Steven Soderbergh's "No Sudden Move" and can be seen next year in Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you haven’t watched “crazytimeshitshow,” the fifth episode of “Barry” Season 3, now streaming on HBO Max.
In a season that has seen many of its characters at their darkest, “Barry” has given fans a light in the form of NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan) and Cristobal’s (Michael Irby) relationship. Introduced in the first season of Alec Berg and Bill Hader’s crime comedy as members of the warring Chechen and Bolivian mafias, the two easygoing and cheerful mob bosses have had many moments of camaraderie with each other, as their friendly demeanors mesh together like chocolate and peanut butter. After a time jump between Season 2 and 3, the show reintroduces the pair as full-blown star-crossed lovers, in a happy, functional relationship they’re keeping hidden from their other criminal associates.
But it’s the world of “Barry,” so things don’t go smoothly for very long for the star-crossed mobsters.

Alex Cox attacks the Reagan years with a political tale sung in the key of the Italo Spaghetti Western: expect plenty of slow motion shots of stylish pistolero mercenaries fighting for the historical ‘filibuster’ William Walker. Look him up, he’s the patron saint of every neocon and would-be soldier of fortune. Everybody on this show goes the whole 9 yards in commitment, with Ed Harris in the lead — they filmed in Nicaragua. It may be director Cox’s finest film, packed with vivid images and surreal anachronisms — and a terrific music score by Joe Strummer.

I have Shonda Rhimes, Stacy McKee, Krista Vernoff, Paris Barclay and ABC to thank for allowing me to bring him to life,” Onaodowan said in a statement to Deadline. “I am grateful I got to work with the most loving, kind and dedicated crew in network TV. And most importantly, thanks to the fans for showing Dean so much love. I hope he has inspired you to change your world for the better.
