The civilian-converted AT-6 type, piloted by friend/owner/actor Philip Bent, was showing off for their wives Salli & Linda Bent, friends and other beach-goers near La Jolla's WindanSea beach area when it pulled up too low, crashing into the sea.
- Sachse, a former Miss La Jolla, said that she was discovered in early 1964 while at the beach near her home in La Jolla, California. A director simply approached her and asked if she would like to appear in a beach party movie. She was soon signed to a seven-year contract with American International Pictures.
