Let’s just say that mama Beyoncé is allowing her daughter to take on more jobs and showcase her talents. What, if that astounding tour showed us anything, it’s that Blue Ivy is ready to shine in her own right.
The story may be Mufasa’s childhood, but Simba gets to make an appearance as well.
Blue Ivy – Makes Big Comeback After Sister Rumi Overtakes Her As Youngest Person To Chart On Billboard
Blue Ivy has been making her mark on both the music and fashion world, and now she’s got her sight set on breaking into the movie industry.
This won’t be Blue Ivy’s first narration work though, as the youngster’s talent was tapped to narrate the audiobook version of New York Times bestseller “Hair Love” by Matthew A. Cherry.

From the start of Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé makes it clear this ain’t your typical country album. Opening epic “Ameriican Requiem” is part gospel, part-Queen, part-Buffalo Springfield as the artist lays out both her intentions and lineage. “Used to say I spoke ‘Too country’/And the rejection came, said I wasn’t ‘country ‘nough’/Said I wouldn’t saddle up/But if that ain’t country, tell me what is?” she sings from the gut, after listing off her bona fide country credentials.

Beyoncé tapped several notable guest vocalists for Cowboy Carter, including Willie Nelson and Post Malone, but perhaps the most notable is her own daughter, Rumi Carter. On album cut “Protector,” six-year-old Rumi can be heard saying, “Mom, can I hear the lullaby please?” The query leads into an emotional acoustic ballad that sees Beyoncé celebrating her children, twins Rumi and Sir and 12-year-old Blue Ivy.
“And I will lead you down that road if you lose your way/ Born to be a protector,” the singer intones on the soulful track.

George Morikawa shared on his Twitter account on March 14, 2024, his plans for a new project following the conclusion of the Hajime No Ippo manga, which involves creating a manga focused on chipmunks.
In his tweet, Morikawa expressed surprise at his deteriorated skills in drawing chipmunks, a subject he had not tackled in quite some time. Writer-producer Kanika Dhillon says the way Indian cinema views female empowerment, female characters end up getting stuck in a narrow spectrum. The screenwriter-producer, who has penned films such as ‘Dunki’, ‘Haseen Dilruba’ and ‘Manmarziyaan’, notes that female characters in Indian cinema are either righteous, or they exist only to be the male protagonist’s source of motivation, when there can be many shades to these characters on screen.
Dhillon spoke to Ians and shared her vision of female empowerment in the film industry and the means to achieve it.
“Female empowerment in Indian cinema has been stuck in a spectrum of either righteous, holier-than-thou characters, or existing to be the male protagonist’s sole source of motivation, the black and white,” she said.
“As a writer and producer, I believe their empowerment comes from depicting them in their nuanced glory, exploring the depth of their psyche, their imperfections and their conflicts,...

“It Must Be Love” is Junko Emoto's second directorial feature film, previously having directed “The Extremists' Opera.” While having acted in movies, a notable example is Shutaro Oku's “Death of Domomata,” Emoto is also very active in theater. As a filmmaker, she often brings elements of stage performance into her productions; “The Extremists' Opera” follows the eccentric activities of a theater group comprised entirely of women. For “It Must Be Love,” the director takes a more experimental approach, following chaotic romantic lives with the world set within a theater. While a neat concept, the picture is more frustrating than engaging.
It Must Be Love is screening at Osaka Asian Film Festival
The film takes place over several years, with the narrative set within the confines of a theater studio with an interactive audience. Rumi, her sister Aki, and another woman named Rie are romantically involved with one man.

Consequence’s Origins is a recurring series that gives artists a place to break down everything that went into their latest release. Today, Sinkane dissects his new song, “How Sweet Is Your Love.”
Sinkane (aka multi-instrumentalist Ahmed Gallab) has announced his fifth studio album, We Belong, out on April 5th via City Slang Records. In addition, the pop and funk artist has announced a US tour and released the new single, “How Sweet Is Your Love,” along with its accompanying music video
In a compelling preview of what is sure to follow on We Belong, the song is dancy and fun. It’s in part inspired by the American punk scenes of the ’70s and ’80s, as well as the soul music of Gallab’s native Sudan.
“‘How Sweet Is Your Love’ is about remaining in the present and feeling all of your feelings as fully as possible,” Gallab tells Consequence about the tune.

Beyoncé knows what her fans have gone through to make it to her Renaissance World Tour.
As she says in Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé, she herself has been changed by seeing her idols perform live.
That’s why she put all her energy into the creative direction of her show. Those efforts are on full display in the concert film, which is just as much a behind-the-scenes documentary and rare interview with Beyoncé as it is a treat to the best seat in the house for the nearly 3-hour performance.
In fact, the film opens with a tribute to the Beyhive, as they prepare to enter the stadium for the spectacle. As they dance outside and rush to their seats, Beyoncé is backstage preparing to step up to the mic. When she does, she beautifully belts “Dangerously in Love” to open the show.
Seeing Beyoncé perform live might be akin to a religious experience.

Beyoncé captivated Hollywood’s attention Saturday night as the superstar held a stealthily staged world premiere of her concert movie, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Beyoncé fans have noted that Dec. 1 also marks World AIDS Day – the singer dedicated her “Renaissance” album to her late cousin Johnny (she refers to him as “Uncle Johnny”), who died of AIDS-related illness.
Details of the premiere were kept under wraps, with guests invited with a save-the-date that only included the screening’s 7 p.m. start time and a “cozy opulence” dress code. “Lyrical” is often used to describe poet-turned-filmmaker Raven Jackson’s first feature film, “All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt.” Inspired by Terence Malick and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki’s collaboration on “Tree of Life,” Jackson and cinematographer Jomo Fray wanted to make a film that had a unified aesthetic that came through process and principles rather than rehearsal and refining of the camera work.
“Jomo and I started off talking about the emotionality of the film before we were thinking visually,” Jackson told IndieWire. “What feelings we were aiming to evoke with the images. And eventually Jomo had a suggestion to do a manifesto.”

Look up the term "power couple" in the dictionary and you might find a photo of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who are parents of three.
While Beyoncé has posted tons of photos of their eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, over the years and even recently shared the stage with her, she's been a lot more private when it comes to sharing snapshots of her twins. On Aug. 1, though, fellow superstar Madonna shared an extremely rare glimpse of Beyoncé's youngest daughter, Rumi, backstage at the "Renaissance" Tour on her Instagram Story, showing just how much she's grown over the years. According to the trailer for Beyoncé's upcoming "Renaissance" Tour movie, we may soon get a closer look at her and Jay-z's three kiddos.
Of course, all three kids have been in the spotlight since before they were born. Beyoncé famously announced her first pregnancy during a 2011 performance of "Love on Top" at the MTV Video Music Awards.

An Oscar ceremony with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift? What television producer wouldn’t want two of the biggest names in entertainment gracing the red carpet for the 96th Academy Awards? But despite two upcoming concert films from the megastars — “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” — neither are eligible to submit or compete for an Academy Award nomination for documentary feature, or any technical category, under the current guidelines.

“All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt” director Raven Jackson is taking her time.

Beyonce’s six-year-old daughter Rumi made a rare appearance with Madonna backstage at the Renaissance World Tour.
Madonna shared a photo of her three daughters, Stella, Estere and Mercy, and her posing alongside Beyonce and Rumi.
Beyonce smiled in the photo while her long straight hair cascaded back. She was still in her stage makeup but wore a black floor-length robe.
Rumi is Beyonce and Jay-Z’s second child and twin to her brother Sir. Her older sister is 11-year-old Blue Ivy, who previously joined her mother on stage during the tour. The twins were born in June 2017 and Rumi’s name was chosen from the 13th century poet from Persia.
Madonna, who was recently recovering after being hospitalized, has six children in total. Her three daughters who attended the concert with her and their brother David Banda were adopted from Malawi. Her other two children, Lourdes and Rocco, are her only biological children.

Over the years, the definition of a man has changed its course, and with time the represention of the modern man has also changed in Indian Cinema. Gone are the times when men were just macho heroes rescuing women. This is the era of vulnerable, compassionate and sensitive men. Men who can cry, who are not shy about seeking help when they need it and acknowledging the worth of the women in their lives. Men who can express their feelings and not hide them.
Many Bollywood male characters written by women have played a big role in breaking the mould of a stereotypical hero.
This change has been a product of increasing number of female writers. Women writers have actually played a big role in breaking the stereotypes around masculinity, by creating male characters who are sensitive, understanding and would cheer for women.

Late into Bianca Lucas’ feature debut, a character ventures a few verses: “Listen to the moan of a dog for its master / That whining is the connection / There are love dogs no one knows the names of / Give your life to be one of them.” Lucas does not reveal the author; the character, Beck (Becca Begnaud), says she forgot who the words belong to. As a matter of fact, they’re the final lines of 13th-century Persian poet Rumi’s Love Dogs, the poem that lends this sorrowful meditation its title and cumulatively cathartic power. Like Rumi’s text, which unfurls as a plea to find meaning and solace in sadness, Love Dog follows a man trying to process and survive an unimaginable loss. It’s that rare film that manages to be both unbearably vivid in its depiction of grief and resolutely immune to misery porn. There are scenes...

But Rumi realized that Sreela could end up killing Roy if she drank too much blood, as she did not have control over her thirst. Unfortunately, Sreela encountered Luna Luka, the powerful leader of the Cutmundus Cult. She used her powers to kill Sreela, striking her with a silver dagger.
