Kenneth Robertson was born in Kirkintilloch, Scotland and went to
school in England. He was brought up on a Farm/Agricultural College in
Buchinghamshire, where he kept his own horses and won many awards for
Showjumping and Gymkanas. He left school after A levels and moved to
London to join a touring theatre company that performed throughout
Britain. He later trained as a teacher of Art and Drama but continued
with being an actor and did an MA in Theatre Performance at Goldsmiths,
London University.
As an actor he has worked in Children's theatre, The Young Vic.
Community Theatre, Fringe Theatre, London's West End, The Royal
Shakespeare Company, Cheek By Jowl as well as many TV series/plays and
film.
Was originally cast as Hrchek Kal Fas for the cantina scene in Star Wars
(1977), but because of budget restraints, this part became an extra role and he declined the offer.
He has been compared to Al Pacino twice in reviews and also to Bruce Springsteen. In common with Al Pacino, he also turned down a role in Star Wars.
