Suffered a stroke during the filming of Buster's second feature film, Our Hospitality (1923). He insisted on returning to work and completing the film, but died shortly thereafter.
Having appeared in 16 of the 19 Buster Keaton-directed shorts, he was the
actor who appeared in more Keaton movies than anyone except Buster
himself.
Was a family friend of the Keaton family from the summers they spent at
the Actor's Colony on Lake Muskegon in Michigan.
Was Buster Keaton's favored villain and antagonist in a series of films,
Roberts' huge size providing an amusing contrast with the small
Buster.
